The word "Nihongo" is Japanese in Japanese, as in the Japanese language. XD

"Eigo" is the word for English in Japanese.

So if Tomo had said "If the word Nihongo is Japanese, from what language is the word Eigo?" That would make it simpler to understand. But it would defeat the point of it being a riddle. :P

@AzarathMZ666 An easier way to say it is that the riddle's "trick" is to point out that the word "Eigo" might MEAN English, but the word Eigo ITSELF is still a Japanese word. Basically similar to the English riddle "how many months in the year have 28 days" the answer is trying to trick you into saying "February" but the answer is really "all of them".

I normally hate riddles like this since they're only based on semantics, but it was fun figuring these out in a language I don't know yet :D

Only Japanese uses Eigo to describe English.
