Always loved this song... and I've always maintained that REM re-writes their songs... It's my belief that they took Wire's song and re-wrote it as Get Up.... and then Star 69 from Monster.

I love their version of this on Document. It's the only slow song on Wire's first album. So R.E.M. sped it up. I also love that Peter —who hated guitar solos— plays a guitar solo in a song by a band that also hated guitar solos.
