Legends in the Game...this is before all the synthesizers and all that other fake crap that's on every song you hear now a days...when there was true talent in hip hop.
whooa these guys were crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol lol lol lol...spinnig a giant record with his butt!!!!!!! and then beat boxing the national anthem....awesome!!!!!!! u dont need girls in rap videos u need the fat boys!
I was there at that Block party that they did in Harlem when i was 13
Yeah, I know it seems goofy now,but back then...dope Beatboxing skills was everybit as important as rappin. Thats what made Doug E Fresh famous too,...good ass Beatbox skills.
My first real introduction to hip hop was this group from Brooklyn(FAT BOYS) and a group from Queens(RUN DMC). So to go with my lil boom box those were my first 2 cassettes. Long live Hip Hop!
WEST COAST- i remember 1983 my mother brought this record home for me and my older brother "my first official hip hop album" that i owned..im tellin ya'll if ya'll missed this era in hip hop and claim this culture I FEEL SORRY FOR U
Wow, these are some innovative, underground sounds. I always assumed the Fat Boys were something of a novelty act because of the food-themed songs. But this is impressive, especially as the Human Beat Box seems to be carrying the bulk of the music himself.
RAP SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORBIDDEN IN THE 90´S SO EVERYBODY HAS TO DIG IN THE 80`S AND LEARN FROM THE RAPS AND LYRICS NOWADAYS BITCHES LIKE JAY-Z RAP ABOUT MONEY BITCHES AND BLING AND THE KIDS LISTEN TO HIM WHAT A SHAME SOMEONE SHOULD SMACK THE SHIAT OUTTA JAY-Z FUKKIN ILLUMINATI BITCH . RESPECT TO THE 80´S and to THE ALMIGHTY GOD. PEACE
@MegatallicAfan666 this is real hi[p hop this song ALONE is better than 50 top rap songs right now i think they would have still been a great part of hip hop and since everyone is elling out NOW..they would be a perfect fit in todays music and plus they were marketable and didnt front and had real talent-says uzipolo-king of decatur
they were discovered in 1983 by winning a talent show, they are from brooklyn NY they had true street cred until their managemnet forced them to change it up to do bubble gum re makes that tried to appeal to the masses and made god awful movies the fat boys are prince markie dee, kool rock ski(now cool rock) and the human beatbox buff(who later died) they were featured in the movie krush groove and were belivable characters in beatboxing they are MORE recognizable for this art
this is real hip hop and its a SHAME they dont get the real props they deserve they were doing what rappers are DOING now, but back then they were called sell outs one of the first to combine melody in rap(not dre dre, what puff daddy said on behind the music) and they got kurtis blow davy dmx and russel simmons to thank for this also check out dj mista sinista cut this record up on here on youtube..amazing to the eye, devestaiung to the ear say suzipolo-king of decatur
When I say sellout I mean sellout. They did a song with the Beach boys. In the 80s rap was almost segregated. Young Blacks like it and that was the bulk of the fans(not saying nobody else was a fan) They change there sound to crossover for one reason, money. After that they lost there fan base and it was over for the group. But when they first came out they were nice.
When you hear " . . and when my mouth starts to movin I will not stop cause I'm all the way live with so much juice . . " that snippet there is soo damn smooth it works with with the beat and just gets you moving.
I don't think they knew how genius they were.
I would love to have a time machine and put 80's rappers against today's rappers and everyone would watch the true talent as the 80's rappers would tear them up!

Buff wasn't the greatest beatbox'er, but he could put a lot of base in his sound effects! Kool Rocski was my favorite.

Yes, today hip hop is just about sex, drugs, cars, and futuristic crap. 80s and 90s rocks. 2000s suck.
