Sure murali may have taken more wickets but people have to remember that Warnie CHANGED the face of cricket forever. before him it was pace, pace & pace. When he came along he got belted around in his first test season. but came back to put a scareing into the mindset of batsmen around the world. He turned the ball further than anyone & when he introdused the flipper that was it!! He was in a league of his own. No matter who takes more wickets they will be a distant second in skill & class

@BoyleZ28 warne was easily better than murali. warne would remain confident even if he was getting hit and would flight the balll more to tempt the batsman again. warne was a match winner and took vital and memorable wickets. murali didnt like bowling to a batsman who was scoring of him, didnt like bowling in powerplays and lost confidence when things didnt go his way and start darting them in. where as warnie would be motivated to bowl more in that situation. he was overall a better bowler

When they did a test on his action (i think it was the 2nd time), they also checked a number of other bowlers and found out that the current rule meant that practically every bowler was "chucking" including shane warne, mcgrath, flintoff etc. so then they changed the rules to allow a certain degree of flexibility in their arms to stop every bowler from chucking.
