I remember this from when I was a kid. There were many kids in many places thinking of many people while this spun it's way through the disjointed psyche of the early eighties. Reagan's yawn sucked all the air out of the atmosphere so that when "the lead crept into your head" you found it hard to breathe.
<3 Twilight Zone has to be my favorite Golden Earring song! and When The Lady Smiles. I just feel like jamming out to this on an electric violin!!!! ;D oh yeah, and George is handsome, even now he still is and has an amazing voice!
I said an awesome thing but I accidently deleted it and I'm too lazy to rewrite it so ur gonna have to trust me like Bernie Madoff or Barrack Obama or that liar we see on TV day in and out,Katie Kuric
Today I have had on my school the history of PopMusic. I have heard some pop bands and the best I've heard was The Golden Earring. So I've searched for The Golden Earring on Youtube and I've found this. Don't look at my English, I'm 11 and from The Netherlands. It is 17:19 at my country and I've lyed about my age to Youtube a few years ago. And when I registered a few years ago, I have made a mistake, I've typed Captian instead of Captain. And after my account was registered, I saw that.

@captianjoel not to worry there, little fella, i've seen many more here from america spell alot worse that were older than you and me...lol... other than that, your's is way more understandable than most on here on youtube that type.
OMG! I can't believe I'm seeing this! When I was a teenager living in Holland back in the mid 70's we used to make our way up to Amsterdam, but of course, to all the rock clubs like the infamous Paradiso to watch all the best bands making the European tour! I never realized that GE recorded out of Hilversum and I didn't see them up north but down south where I went to school. They performed at the 1978 Pink Pop festival and that was awesome to say the least! Rock On GE!

You should go to my Faves list and check out the clip called "Carl Palmer Snare Demo." I think you'll appreciate it. :-)
BTW, don't take that the wrong way. I'm not disparaging Cesar at all -- I'm just pointing out another solo drumming clip I think you'll dig.
Golden Earring feel through the cracks here in the US. I always loved them but their major impact was in Europe. Wonder why? They had killer songs, like this.
was this the gig relayed to u.k t.v show "the tube"?...irritatingly the English oh so trendy presenters made disparaging comments bout them being sad old hippies having a jam session or somthing and us brit fans were denied most of the gig and got some new romantic pop shite instead ...and im still pissed off a quarter of a century later! ...anybody remember that?
Then you better watch T-Zone on the German Rockpalast version. We in Germany always knew to treat this wonderful dutch band correctly. No shit with old hippie crap talking .
Yeah, Cesar is a drummer's drummer. I saw them in the mid-80's and he did a drum solo so the rest of the band could rest and get some water. He did this INSANE thing where he started tapping on his snare and kept getting faster, and faster, and faster! Being a decade into my drum training, I was transfixed. To this day I've never seen any drummer's hands move that fast, and I've seen some fast drummers. His hands were literally a blur, you could not see the sticks. A-freaking-mazing.
wow! ben al mn hele leven fan! (ben nu 18) ben met ze opgegroeid dankzij mn pa en zie ze regelmatig optreden. het blijft de beste rockband ever voor mij! <3
I've loved this song since I first heard it. Does anyone know what it's about? What I get is the singer is a drug runner or something and has been double crossed. He's waiting for a hitman to come after him but he's not going out without a fight. Am I totally off?
Have seen and met them personally quite a few times.
They are GREAT !
Caesar's Drumming acts have beenquite revolutionary with electronic bodydrums and was (maybe still is) considered one of Europe's best Drummers/Percussionists :))
I have to say I was a fan of Golden Earring('s) Radar Love and Twilight Zone when it was released. Being a long time drummer I did not realize how good Caesar is. For the 70's and 80's his style of play was really quite progressive and advanced for the time, still is. Very technical, tight but still rocks, drives the band and the groove. Never saw them live or videos of the band till now. Well done. (I can leave the bodydrums from what I just saw in another youtube vid)
they sound awesome live, I've never been to a concert but have seen many on t.v. and some other bands had alot of help in the studio but Golden Earring obviously didn't need any "tweeking" done to theirs!
