@blackhoundgames to edit 3d text you must be in edit mode. object mode in blender is for manipulating object size and location.

Thank god. finally i find a tutorial on a blender text effect on the NEW blender layout. i want to go into advertising. and i just want to have the feel of different software, and different effects

@ROKDRIPZ Blender is an excellent place to start. I have 3DS max too, but I still go back to Blender often for projects because I know the interface so well so its more easy to control. Blender is great for flash advertising but it is a bit of a chore to turn it into the SWF file required for flash advertising. You need additional programs (all of which can be found for free) but they aren't installed with Blender and it can be difficult to find the right ones.

hey good tutorial. Could you help me out though, I want to create 3D text in Blender that explodes, but I can't get the letters to change the mesh shape. Is there a way to do this. As far as I know the text mesh is not the same as the other models.
