LoL When i see a good bokehlicious, sharp, contrasti picture and later finding out it was shot with a L lens and a 5DMKii i get so disappointed !!! of course the picture is great it was shot with a fcking L and an expensive body :\ every idiot can take quality pictures with national geographic equipment! when i see a photographer taking excellent pictures with random non L lenses with not expensive body, getting 100% of his equipment, that for me is - Pro!

35mm f 2 + 60D body + 50mm f 1.8 + lightroom 3 = 1140. 35mm f 1.4 = 1100 and Canon has not even weather seal the lens so it could break if abit of rain hits it. Nice one Canon, I am starting to understand why so many like Nikon now.

@k3rm0r for a crop sensor in my opinion i would go for a 35mm lens as its more wider and is more like what you see with your eye when you look through the viewfinder. 50mm in a crop sensor will equivalent to 85mm. 35mm on a crop will equvalent to 50mm.

I really think you should make at least one video showing the difference buying a higher end prime lens[fixed focal length] or a higher end zoom lens makes (or cheapo ones). As in what kind of quality difference do we see at similar apertures. Because manufacturers have high end and low end ones of both.

The fixed lens are of limited range so you need to stay close to whatever you're filming. The control interface is archaic
