  • And Dont forget about an extra Wii just in case if you brake it ;D

  • omg u r so cute

u have installed a modchip on my heart

  • fuck you

  • Thank you so much!! This worked beautifully!! =) You have the cutest voice ever!

  • ANYONE WHO CAN HELP. where this part goes? plus ERROR: Unable to read Disc

    youtube.com/watch?v=NQ8f7ysCg3I

  • why the gloves ??? thats funny and a little bit stupid ... 4:1 for germany

  • @SgtLapdance to get the grip you n00b

  • hello,

I was wondering where you got your screwdriver?

    Thnaks so much

    Tuba611

  • The pink one

  • You took it apart but where the hell does the chip go once you get it there?

  • How do you install the acctual chip thats the only part im lost on?

  • Thank you so much, this helped me a lot

But you should ditch the music

  • were did you buy your tri wing ?

  • Very Cool video, greatly helped... and song too...what are these songs? Thanks again...

  • I bought a wii from China and I need to remove the wiikey chip because I updated my firmware from 4.0J to 4.2J because none of my games work anymore. Where is the wiikey exactly? I called nintendo support they told me to send it in, but NOT with the wiikey because then they will just return my wii back.

  • I am learning how to remove my wiikey because I bought my wii from China and now I am removing it because I updated the firmware from 4.0J to 4.2J so now I called Nintendo Tech Support for me to send in the wii, but I need to remove my chip, how would I do that?

  • the song at 6:50 pleaseeeee????

  • read the video description, maybe.

  • Perfect video, couldn't be more clear. I disassembled nearly in the same time as the video with this. gloves aren't necessary as long as you ground yourself, but I WOULD recommend exacto knife. Kitchen knife mars up the stickers.

  • thanks! :D

  • good video .

but i am not taking the risk its dangerous!!!

  • Those gloves are special gloves. Anti-Static gloves which help you to keep electronics safe. Other wise with the static electric which you can be charged easily, will grill your chips and motherboard....

  • whats with the gloves did u steel the wii or the chip or did u ruin the wii and got a new 1 and didnt want ur fingr prints on it????????????

  • how old are you? ....is dangerous..i hop my wii dont' broke

  • 16 now, this was done when I was 15...

  • nice video,

but im not taking the risk of throwing $250.00 down the drain.

  • nice but i'm not taking that risk

  • Thanks. Great tutorial video! Best on youtube by far.

  • thanks, really appriciate it.

  • nice job body

  • i like people like you that are very smart and

care about saving money,i like that.Like me XD

  • Sweet song by the way

  • cool duder

  • WHAT THE F ...did anyone even see that it didnt even look like the same drive ...bord or the front of it ....LOOK the front now is closed off...what the heck ..can you now tell how you made that happen LOL

  • look closely, the whole drive is just turned 90 Degrees counter clockwise.

  • can you just do a soft mod instead to be able to play burned games?

I DO NOT want to take it apart if at all possible

  • thanks mate

  • What's the gloves for???

  • Well the gloves are for many reasons,,, 1. to prevent leaving body oil on the console components like microchips. 2. Corrosion like acid. 3.Electric shock that could damage the system. Ect... ect.

I'm not a tech kind of guys,,,, but this are the basic foundations when opening any kind of electronic device.

  • One question why do you mod your Nintendo Wii I mean What is the point I dont get??

  • so u can download wii games 4 free from the internet and burn it onto a disc

  • You can rent a Twilight princes and it's a damn good game so buy it even :-)

  • Yeah you gotta replace that battery in 3-4 years or so if your wii can't keep up with the clock anymore it'll limit out your network play aswell i think the WIi prolly drains the battery out alot slower then a your regular full sized PC does since that battery goes into remembering all your bios settings and the time on your computer amongs some other things :-) while i think the WIi doesn't have to do nearly that much.

  • are those so called "stickers" on the wii easy to put right back on?

  • are those so calleed "stickers" on the wii

    easy to be back on?

  • That Laptop! Eee?

  • Where do I get a tri-wing? Because I need a Tri-wing to try to replace the battery for my pokemon sapphire if i want to do it.

  • off the internet

  • no that battery is for data DONT REMOVE IT

  • the battery is for the clock in the game

you are thinking about the memory chip that the battery is stuck to

  • that battery is called bios, it just keeps the time and such, if you DONT remove it you have power going through your wii, not good!

    remove it...

  • the battery isn't called bios. it's the CMOS battery

  • Great tutorial my man, well done.

Thinking about modding my Wii (to play backups of my legally purchased games... of course!), and was a bit hesitant because of what I might need to do, but this looks managable. Want to check out your WiiKey tutorial now.

  • why not just get homebrew channel and Wiigator? it does the same thing without all the hassle of taking it apart...

  • sinnamental, before those loaders were even invented, the only way to load unsigned discs were through modchips.

Besides, not everyone has TP or the know-how to load Homebrew loaders themselves. Some people who'd like play backups just take them to experienced modders so that it'll be plug-and-play for backup discs and not have the hassle of loading through homebrew or resetting with hooks.

But, yes... the importance of a wii modchip is waning. A softmod is easier to do and a bit less risky.

  • not really, wii mod chip is faster and plays games correctly....

  • Yes, really, softmii and a preloader take all of 2 minutes to install and does the exact same thing, it enables to run the game from the the disc menu just like a modchip...Never had a problem with my games not playing correctly ;) and the best part...It was all FREE!!!

  • System updates screw softmods up though, so if you care about your future self not wasting time hacking the same wii over and over, a modchip is a better choice.

  • i have serial number lu60403774 model number RVL-001(USA) what chip do i need to modified my Wii? Nice video....

  • wiikey v2

  • where you got the philips???

  • I got mine from my local electronics Store.

try Jaycar if u live in Australia or

Radio Shack if u live in the US.

ask for a #000 Phillips screwdriver.

  • whats a modchip

  • a modchip is a device that allows the Wii to play backups (pirated games)

  • its ur mum! at 5.00

  • nice tutorial

hey im thinking of changing the shell of my wii so i could make it black but having to take it all apart kind gets me nervous just because i dont want to break it in any way. to change the shell would i have to disassemble everything? please reply back thanx

  • To replace the Wii shell, would require more disassembly than shown, most likely a full disassembly.

There are plenty of vids going thru this process, however It shouldn't be too hard.

  • ohh alright thanx for the help

  • it's one of the drives with the epoxy over the solder points :(

  • lol yes. i opened it up because i needed to check what drive i had...

    very unfortunate.

  • breahte carolina?

  • nope.

  • owl city?

  • yup, win.
