  • God bless pastor Mark!

  • We'll see how you all feel when this guy gets caught sodomizing some young stud somewhere in Capitol Hill and then blames it on his wife for being sexually unavailable. You people should start thinking for yourselves instead of relying on some Bronze Age book of man made myths and the advise of some douchebag homophobic, sexist asshole for your worldview. Of course you're all brainwashed so you won't listen but I've said my piece.

    In reason,

    -Dr.

  • ...and then again, you just might be the brainwashed (Pascal's Wager?, desicion theory..but the stakes are really high)..& is it freedom to be a prisoner of desires? Or can a man conquer sin, yes indeed, but alone through Christ!!!It is madness how can we blind ourselves to the destruccion that comes from sin. Great people are overpowered by "animal instinct," destroying morality(would it be morally bad if that sodomized stud happens to be your boyfriend..Cristianity is exclusive!Dr.S.

  • Pascal's Wager?! Are you serious?! Using Pascal's wager to prove you point is basically saying that your point makes no sense so I'll try to scare you into buying into the BS I'm selling. What if Muslims are right and you are not? You can apply the same logic to every other religion out there, which puts you in the same position as everyone else: wagering on the fate of your soul based on a book/ideology of absurdities and contradictions.

  • Would it be morally bad if the sodomized stud was my boyfriend? Well, the answer is NA as I'm straight, but if I was gay, then it would be morally bad if there was deceit involved on the part of my 'boyfriend' and it would be morally bad for Driscoll to be sodomizing this person while preaching against the same behavior (read: hypocrisy). Not being a xian doesn't make you a prisoner of desires any more than being a xian makes you not do immoral things.

  • @Drreality78 thats because true religion is an inner state and not what u say or think u are (as in definition which is ultimately a word+doesnt mean it corresponds to realitty

  • Non xians don't wake up everyday thinking about all of the immoral things that they can do all day. I know xians would like to believe this but it is simply not true. I do agree with you on one point, however: Xianity IS exclusive. That is the REAL draw to it (in addition to fear). People want to feel special, like they have some priviledge that others don't have. No one wants to believe that we are high functioning animals and will disappear into oblivion after death, like ants, dogs, etc.

  • Mark Driscoll is a complete douchebag!! Why don't all of you xian chicks marry straight outta high school so you can get a head start at crankin' those babies out since that's apparently all you're good for. I can't believe that your self esteem is so far in the shitter that you actually believe this garbage! Wake up ladies, you're worth more than being Susie homemaker. I'm not knockin' you if thats REALLY what you wanna do but to say that this is a woman's calling is crazy.

  • good stuff!

  • Mark Driscoll is such a great teacher. Tell it like it is Pastor Mark, we need more men in the Church like you.

Pastor Mark is no way chauvinist, he champions the value of women.

  • I agree with much of what Mark Driscoll says...but I must say that for him to equate homosexuality and pluralism with women in Leadership is just plain foolishness. I think that it is very arrogant when he makes these statements and then claims that he just agrees with the Bible.

  • Instead of arguing with Driscoll, you should consider interacting with the Scriptures. He's in line with Scripture in what he's saying. Your argument is strong with Scripture to back it up, but pretty weak without it.

  • Mark Driscoll is an idiot! He used a whole lot of words to say very little. His theology of women having a "calling" to stay home have babies and raise them is not Scriptural! Since when is childbearing a spiritual gift?

  • I think he was simply suggesting that there is still plenty of honor to be found in a mother choosing not to go to work and to stay home and raise their children, despite what our postmodern Nazi-femenistic culture would suggest.

  • Exactly. Some people seem to be putting words in his mouth and taking them out of context.

  • It is very difficult to remain objective in light of something that smacks you in the face in opposition to what you believe, or have been taught. The way I judge... does it conflict with my flesh (causing emotional anger, discontent, etc.), or does it conflict with the Spirit of the Lord within me. It is much harder to reconcile when it conflicts with your spirit and not your mind.

  • Totally agree (of course I'm a heathen and I'm going to hell according to xians so my opinion can be taken with a grain of salt on here :))

  • "The church has just got to accept the fact that it's going to be counter-cultural." That was refreshing. Good stuff.

  • Let us speak the truth in love but define love as God defines it and not as the world defines it. Amen.

God is love, but the love that God is holy love, truthful love, righteous love, selfless love, perfect and perfecting love, and sinless love. He is the love that calls us to love Him with all heart mind soul and strength.

  • This is an amazing video - Mark Driscoll is an amazing speaker. It's refreshing to see someone these days who will openly and frankly state their beliefs, an not back down.
