I'm a diehard isles fan, I've been watching hockey for about 15 years, he's the best I've ever seen. Hasek was close in the regular season, but Roy buries him in the post season
@ashmanls9 how about Roy 4 cups and 3 Conne Smythes, to hasek one cup and no Smythe? Plus, Roy started in 86, Hasek played his prime during the peak period of the trap, of course his numbers would be better
Hey ether way the haters play it the franchise never recovered from his loss. They won the last cup in '93 the team was a solid hockey team until his coach aired him out to teach him a personal lesson.
Roy was justified in leaving Montreal, the fans bought into the bullshit and boo'd and jeered the man even though he was having a blow out night and it was the coaches job to pull him the greats always have their odd nights where they just don't have their mojo.

the guy is a quitter plane and simple ho matter how you sugar coat it ,he still quit the team and the country. wake this tourette syndrome goaltender is a douche bag.
finally a person with some smarts, this guy has done the smoke and mirrors for years with the people of montreal, this fat bastard is a quitter, thanks for your positive comment.
hahaha, I love how how they strart out with coaches, and tremblay is so clearly missing. Probley for the best, you knew if the fan re-embraced pat like that that have turned on mario and booed him for just as long.
Aw, I wish I had seen this, but NO, I'm in America, I gotta hear how many football players, no matter how crappy, got injured today. anyway, yes roy rained on the other goalies, and they BROUGHT HIS OLD COACHES? Damn!
I wanted to watch this on tv but of course I live in America and god forbid they showed some hockey rather than some other sport that sucks. Roy was and still is the man. Without him, there would not be any of the top goalies we have today. I'm glad that he and the canadiens have reconciled.
I wish I have every NHL and Canadian network TV so I can watch all the games. I saw Roy at the 2001 Stanley Cup Championship parade in downtown Denver, everyone was screaming his last name while I was screaming his first name and he looked down from the fire truck and waved at me. That will always be my favorite memory.
crowd failure:p

@trulysarcastic
totally wrong--hasek was better in the post season...these stats dont tell the whole story but its certainly a place to start
Roy, playoff SV% and GAA: .916, 2.30
Hasek, : .925, 2.02

Do you really think after all that was happened between Mario and Patrick he will come to a ceremony in the honor of Roy?

I was kidding, I knew he'd never show up, LOL!

I'm happy that Roy, the organization and the fans put the past behind them and honour one of the greatest goaltenders ever.
almo8989 2 years ago 14
Well he was like Raymond Bourque. The fans still loved Ray even on the Avs and Montreal still respected Roy.

LOL the same can't be said for Ryder, Komisarek and Begin

I gotta say Timmy Thomas is awfully close, but he plays for the B's (also their hockey is just to boring to watch-- score, trap)
