Please finish it directly after spearing or shoot it or just don't do this, or use a fishing rod, you don't know how much it hurts getting an arrow or a spear in your body.
-If you don't do one thing between these 3 things, than i will call this Animal Cruelty and i will call you a faggot.
@sarihestudios. I don't think so. At least it wasn't last year. You can shoot them with a bow. Spearing them is illegal too, i think, but if the warden is cool and you're not dumping the carp on the bank to rot, but instead saving them to "give away" or use for fertilizer, i doubt a warden is going to give you a ticket. fake ignorance
there are thousands of these in my creek they never take my bait seeing you guys kill them like this makes me want to catch one even more people doing this mite kill them all
oos, looks like i accidentally deleted the comment asking if this was a self-bow. yes, it is. it's one of the first ones i made. it's from an ash tree. i learned from a book called The Bent Stick by Paul Comstock. it's a great book. i have maybe 3 or 4 other books on bowmaking, but that is the best one i've found.
we are in central wisconsin, but there are carp all over the States. i've found the best season to hunt them is early summer when they're spawning. if they[re not spawning you can hunt them along the shore where they are feeding in the early morning as the sun comes up.
guys you ever tried to catch these using rod and reel. carp are strong fish. use some corn or worms mix it up with some bread dirt and water and you´ll catch them like crazy
yes, we fish for them in the hot summer days when nothing else is biting. they are probably one of the best fighters i have ever caught. they certainly test your fishing skills. the things just never give up!
also, if they are top feeding we drill a hole through a piece of dog food and tie our line on so the hook is about 5 inches back from the dog food. it's really cool, you can see them suck it in. wait to set the hook.
my favorite sinking mixture is cornflakes, bread and hamburger.
my town pays me and my friends to go carp spearing every summer and spring. i went last spring and the water was about 35 degrees farenheit and we were out there in shorts and no shirts ^_^
For those that do not know - carp is an invasive species that is detrimental to native fishes. Killing carp is doing a favor to native wildlife.

I live in stoughton, and there are tons of carp at our local dam, and I was wondering if snagging them was legal.
