Thank you for sharing. Thank you also for your special newsletter. I was rereading Through the Fire Without Burning, and I am asking the Lord to wake me and help me to fully be awake. Now I will ask also for the chastening. I want to "come out of her". :)
A book by Pearl-To Train a Child.-explains that training preceeds Discipline- But if you do nothing when they did wrong , then you are enabling their downfall and it could truthfully be said, that you don't love them... and the Bible

Your a good teacher of the Word and your Grandfather was a good man with a prophetic gift. I have his video on my MYSPACE page. My the Lord Always be with you. God Bless
...So, yes....a very good message, just wanted to say that:) As I sed concerning the whole MESS of a movement created and pushed upon parents by Dr. Spock (no...for the youngins', not Spock as in klingon (sp?) aka Star Trek). lol
That was a disaster which def. played a huge formation role in light of the scripture in 2nd Timothy about children being insanely disobedient, disrespectful and such "in the latter days". Just my opinion. Bc' of idiots, parents are not allowed 2B 'the parent'. GBU ~7
Anyhow....I just wanted to also add, that, I loved this one Michael! Although Im only 31, I too, was raised under the chastisement via belt, and 'switches' (u know, the very thin twigs which often times hurt more than the belt!)....My folks were saved, and they (in hindsight of course: did a great job w/ balancing as to when such correction is appropriate), they did just go "beating my sisters and I all willy-nilly". As I said "in hindsight" ~ (for no correction @ the time is enjoyable...lol).
I still find it odd, I mean....the NOTICEABLE trepidation you showed in the beginning, at even the mere mention of this form of discipline. I have four children myself, and once again...I STILL find it odd, that I too must speak cautiously about this form of discipline.
Such is the Dr.Spock mentality that is still very much alive; a 'child rearing' movement that did nothing but create a generation of severly wayward, undisciplined, disobedient children. Ppl follow Trends and forget the King:*(
