Nice system. Cap could help or not help depend on your alt, battery, fuses, hell even your started and spark plugs. Some Honda have good electrical system you may not. Its no reason for everyone to fight over it though. The only thing I would say it sound proof everything! The doors, hood, even the floor trust you will love it!
LMAO at 1:42!!! That was some pounding going through the roof! Do you have to wear shooting earmuffs in the car at that volume or you don't even get inside when it is that loud?
not the strongest, its 2 12" alpine type x's in custom enclosure, upgrading the alternator and throwing in 2 yellow top batterys so i should get some good output. i dont have much room in the g35 coupe so they will be more then enough for that car.
using a power acoustik ov14000d, 2200rms at 1 ohm, get something with that sort of rating, something like 2000-2500rms at 1 ohm with 2 dual 4 ohm woofers.
get 1 big amp, as long as there 4 ohm woofers, then you wire them at 1 ohm (depending on the amp), get max power, this way you dont need as strong of a power source, 1 amp will only pull 100-120amps of power for max power, 2 amps you need 200-240amps even if the amp is smaller, bigger power source is needed, power source meaning your alternator, etc.
not a strong enough alternator, i didint bother because certain cars i dont drive much, so i dont worry about that truck.
im buying another new car, infiniti g35 coupe and deciding on what to put in, if any one got suggestions let me know!
its got a really small trunk so ill pull out the spair tire and everything, im thinking either 2 12" kicker solo x's or maybe 2 12" pioneer tsw5102 or w.e it is, both push out 2500rms each total 5000rms for both (the pair)
yeah i know someone selling some, but i wanted to actually hear them in person, never heard them before. maybe ill find someone at a local DB drag racing comp. and be able to see them in action.
Yeah, hearing the difference between kickers, and Digital designs is like night and day, you get all the impact that the kickers had, But the clarity and lack of distortion is unbelievable, not to mention they are outrageously loud lol. I moved on from kicker to DD myself, hence the recommendation :)
yo im gettin 2 15" Kicker L7s soon, and 2 kenwood 1800s... but idk what else i need for my shit to not rape the battery... lik an alternator? and what else would help?
have you only got a standard battery and alternator? dose your electrical cope with using all that power? ive just bought this set up and need to know if i need to upgrade the batt and/or alt.
yes i have stock battery and alternator. i would recommend to upgrade the alternator and battery if you have the budget to. if not, it can run of stock electrical mostly depending on the vehicle as well. my truck gives about 11.5V-12V off the stock setup, figure my amp is overrated and it gives only 1900rms not 2200rms, it is 2200rms/1900rms at 14.4V, at 11.5-12V i would only be getting around 1500rms or so. also the battery would help as well and maybe i would get close to 1900rms or something.
Yes if you want to be heard from then ported would be your choice but that not the only thing you have to do inorder to be heard at far distance. Trying to do some research because it too much for me to write. I don't like too much rattling because it sound awful. Little bit it alright but too much sound terrible.
im thinking about 2 15" l7... if i point it towards the back, from outside you ONLY heare rattling or can you hear bass too? i want to be heard from far away ;]
from my experimenting you hear bass but alot of rattling, facing forward they are heard from distance, if you have no option but to face them towards the back then you need some dynamat, i havint tried facing them up yet, i want to try it out and see.
check and see if you have enough room, suv, pickup or car?
sealed is better to get a tighter sound, people say its good if you listen to heavy metal or rock music and ported is to give you that low deep bass of course with proper tuning.
just decide what kind of sound you lookin for, tighter or loser. i would suggest ported because i see that you want to be heard from a distance, i'm not an expert but i believe you would be heard from a further distance with a ported enclosure.
it sounds much better with the subs facing the front (facing you) by many ways. better sound quality, huge difference in rattling, and in my truck (it various from car to car), i found that the sound travels a lot further, can be heard from a distance, compared to the other way where the sound was staying inside the truck and all you hear outside is rattling. this was the case for my vehicle but it is different for everyone.
if you listen to rap and you have a cap, the cap wont help for shit. you only use a cap IF AND ONLY IF you play rock/country and you have a beefy electrical. a cap on a stock electrical wont do 2 shits.
thank you for helping me make my point drew. the only times you can use a cap are in my first comment. but a cap is still pretty much useless except for a few things.
you need more than just an alternator. you need a deep cycle battery for under the hood, one or two in the back of the car, Big 3 in 0 gauge wire, a run (wire) from front battery to back battery/batteries. for 4krms, you would need like a 200amp alternator and 2 batteries in the trunk. DONT USE 4 GAUGE.
when you said "i dont no then, because my truck doesnt work without a cap, the cap does help it a bit."
that means that your electrical is stock and your literally killing it. your alternator is being put under 100% load for extended periods of time which, in the long run will give it a big ass change that it'll give out on you lol :)
Dude can you do an update?

when they are installed can you move then your self????
MistaElvis 3 years ago
yeah its not hard, just make sure you keep your keys for the amps or amp. depending on where its all wired you can play around with it.
better yet pay the guy a little extra and let him experiment as your doing the install, it will be easier and time and money efficient.
atoor1990 3 years ago
ill probably just stick with them sticking out, so i can show them off :)
but like, even with the rattlings, ppl will still know im coming around the block right?!?!
MistaElvis 3 years ago
i know what you mean, but it all depends on the vehicle. with my vehicle the difference was huge. can be heard from 3 times the distance.
atoor1990 3 years ago
dang! then im ganna have to experiment when i get them and ask the guy installing them! anyways, is ported better than sealed? whats the difference?
