Futo in Japn was shut down. Russian whaling was shut down. Icelandic whaling was shut down. Sealing was shut down for a decade, untill recently. Antartic whaling was 50% stopped with japan only succeeding in half its quota. Drift neeting in American waters by Japan was stopped. The galapagos is now protected from poachers(SS is the rangers there). Shark finning marfia was exposed and recieved international criticism.... and it goes on

Whaling is legal as well. Laws vary from country to country. For example, off the coast of Australia it is actually legal to whale there. It is just frowned upon. The whales they are harvesting are not endangered anyway. Just b/c 1 country makes decision based their cultural ideas of morality doesn't mean they all do. In some countries they eat dogs. So, what, just b/c you think it is a pet may be dinner to someone else. Stop being bigots against other cultures.

While you are part of these treaties whaling is illegal. Why do you think they call it "research"? just to look fancy? NO so they can try get aorund the IWC laws.
