  • i need a iphone to bad they 250 pound pluse 35 pound a week but so kl

  • i want a i phone bitch.

  • With the Apple iPhone almost here you're invited to the biggest iPhone forum online - IPHONEFORUM[dot]info gets you there (replace the [dot] with a real one ;)) - currently 2,000 members and growing!

  • Bullshit. It's not even close to what the internet looks like on a high end laptop or desktop. I went to a place where they showcased this. The resolution is worse and despite the fact what the ad says. YES it's still an abbreviated version of the Internet. Why do they keep lying?

  • @ Ibhenriksen : it runs a fully W3C compliant web browser, it shows webpages exactly the same way as if it was a laptop or a desktop. It is not a WAP browser, it is not using WML... its a regular browser and as such loads pages as any other regular browser. Do you even have any idea of what you are talking about?

  • Nothing compared to this!!!

Go look now on youtube at /

    watch?v=AqxCkTt6ZCI

  • I haven't watched any video yet of people actually talking on the phone. It has this feature, right? :P

  • @ diogo86 : they have demo'ed it (meaning, first public call) when it was presented. The video is all over the web and each Mac World event is available to be seen on Apple's website. They also have there a 20 minute video presentation of all the main features of the iPhone. If you haven't watched any of these was because 1- you actually don't care ; 2- you just woke up from a coma.

  • watch and comment my videos please

  • they forgot to show the bloddy 10 minutes wait time... iphones suck, as do imacs, i whatevers and ibooks and other i products.

if apple doesnt want to lose money, they better stick to making ipods. apple is making a mistake...as sony did with the ps3... no one thinks sony is a good company anymore anyway (ahem, exploding batteries)

  • you sick bastard

  • I think ipods suck because they break, theyre a rip off, you have to use itunes (unless your clever) and the stupid white earphones make you a moving target to muggers. If this is anything like an ipod it will suck. (Mac books are good though)lol, its not my opinion its fact, OK?

  • I agree that Ipods do indeed suck, there basically MP3's with an extortionate price, the only reason people get them is so they can say "hey look i have an ipod" or because they actually have itunes.

But the Iphone looks amazingly awesome in every way.

  • Look at the news: It is "The glory of Taiwan: Chien-Ming Wang." The ace of Yankees. Haha.

  • iphone sux. never buy the first version of ANYTHING. it will be full of bugs

  • The iPhone is everything except a really good phone

  • I'd rather buy a kick ass video card.

  • wuaw!

  • ooo does it brings stock quotes wherever u go

  • iphones are cool but at $500 dollars no way and since i live in canada i cant download movies or tv shows off itunes so i am deffinetly not getting one

  • why didnt they show the "tabs" feature......that is an awesome feature i must say.

  • sweet. not shelling out 500 bucks for it though. much rather have a ps3. oh, and it's only for cingular, so.......

  • I just saw this! lol,

  • have you seen the new youpod?

  • I am buying one for myself and wife. Sucks you have to use AT&T though. Oh well the best phone ipod on the market. I have been waiting for this for years.

  • SUCK,. TOO BIG..

  • SHUT UP

  • $500 bucks for a mobile whatever with a WEAK processor??

    No, thanks.

My PC running on a E6300 and 2GB of RAM owns any mobile system on this Planet

  • Pop quiz:

    Is it mobile?

  • Br, sorry to say but I am very familar with the E6300. My cousin has it. The best and most important feature of the iphone is it being a true ipod with phone and internet cap. No phone can play music as loud and clearly as the new iphone. This is why people will be buying the iphone. Besides its the best looking and easiest to use. It has the lastest voice appl. So if you have an odd speach it will detect and cal. Also it will come out in 4GB and 8GB. 2GB is old news.

  • You misunderstood, I have 160 GB of space and 2 GB of RAM. I doubt the IPhone has 256 MB of RAM. My PC only loses on mobility.

No matter how much phones evolve they will continue to be VERY primitive compared to PCs.

  • I agree, but the Iphone is not primitive. This is not the year 2050. And know is comparing a p.c to phone. That would be like comparing a tv and a dvd player, each have there use.

  • Whats your point? You cant compare the size of a PC and a mobile phone, so its pretty obvious.

  • a COMPUTER is not a CELL PHONE

  • no, but a cell phone is, in all literalness, a computer :)

  • I see your point, but the advertisement is clearly selling the phone as a mini PC, when in reality it's very very far from being close to one.

  • The internet on my phone during my journey in New Orleans would be awesome!!!

You can see what I'm talking about in my video blogs.

  • Paying the bill for that phone every month looks like a treat...

  • tooo bad that phone suck monkey nut. Its excpensive, its only 2gb... but i mean if you had $500!! to spend however you want like bill gates. id buy. But suck on tht monkeys nuts.

  • If I had an extra $499 to spend.. I would be the first one in line at the Apple Store on June 29.

  • hey....the photo in the newspaper says "The hope of Taiwan--Chien-Ming, Wang"

  • The way this thing parses HTML makes websites look like they should; it doesn't magically enhance "the internet".

I for one am interested to see how the zooming web browser idea turns out!

  • Well, not really. There IS a distinct point in the difference. MOST web sites look like crap on most smart phones. I should know, I'm a web designer who always has to view my sites on every platform on every browser, including smart phones. I have seen over 15 different smart phones over the past year alone. This is for a reason: The browser on these phones don't work the same way that a browser works on a computer. (Continued below) . .

  • The smart phones don't have an OS in the same way that a typical computer does. So, what you end up with is a smart phone with a very unique OS, if you can call it that, and a very unique browser - neither of which are going to view a web site the same way that a computer and its own browser are. They are much more limited. Remember, the web site compliances were made with certain types of browser engines in mind. None of which were smart phone browsers. (Continued below) . . .

  • For example, if a web site uses an exact pixel width (as opposed to a percentage) a typical smart phone won't be able to show the missing content if that pixel dimension falls out of range of a smart phone's screen. Or at the very least, it would have to do a lot of scrolling. (Continued below) . . .

  • The iPhone is unique in that it has a REGULAR computer browser it is using (Safari) using a near exact version of MAC's OS X. It takes what a browser sees as a pixel width and scales it according to its OWN pixel dimensions. This I'm afraid IS unique in the smart phone world.

  • wish it had the pen thingy that is used with alot of pda's and atms. Gonna have to wipe it off every 30 mins or so

  • The way they are advertising it is correct. Most phones have a version of the internet that does not support more advanced features, such as CSS. The iPhone uses Safari, which is a full blown internet browser, which most phones do not have.

  • Whats the internet? You guys are lame.

  • The Internet is a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to bitch about movies and share pornography with one another.

  • Thanks to the creator of the internet.

  • Tim Berners-Lee.

  • To clarify, I do understand that the web is a particular application accessed via the internet, I'm just concerned that even if it's not really a critical point, a computer company is promoting a misconception!

  • I know it has the internet.

(cf. my second clause "I know the iPhone has internet connectivity")

The internet is the same on this phone as it is on any other 2(.5)G phone. It's just the web they've interpreted in higher fidelity.

  • Which makes all the difference...

  • Yeh, I wondered why they only have 2.5g on this thing. Then I remembered how backwards America's phone network is. I sure hope this baby is 3G by the time it hits my shores. :)

  • Wrong. It IS the internet. Connection to a server - mail, web, database - on the internet is achieved with the iPhone. You use an IP (Internet Protocol) address to connect. This defines an internet connection. That aside, your argument is mostly semantic, as the "Web" and the "Internet" are, by and large, considered synonymous for all intents and purposes.

  • Maybe he would be happier if the ad said : "It's the Hypertext Transfer Protocol running on a mobile phone". Yeah, that would really roll off the tongue. :D

  • It's not the internet at all - I know the iPhone has internet connectivity to achieve access to this, but it's the WEB. What you see in a web browser is the web.

  • No, you see web pages in a web browser. The web is a term coined from the metaphor that each page links to several others, creating a "web" of pages. What a lame discussion. iPhone rocks.

  • LOL are you serious? Well fuck me, if that's the case then "the Internet" isn't the Internet, it's actually a collection of protocols that use the network originally created by the government called ARPANET. Can we split this hair any further?

  • It's not splitting hairs; you don't interchange "email" and "internet", do you? "I sent you an internet"? Web, email, instant messaging - they're all applications that are accessed by clients via the internet (which used to be ARPANET).

The web is a term to describe lots of text files, with extensions like .html and .php and such, containing instructions to display a layout in a web browser instead of you downloading a .txt or a .doc of information.

  • The iPhone's version simply interprets HTML like a computer, not like a crappy phone browser.

    The iPhone will rock.

  • It's ADVERTISING for god's sake. It is supposed to be catchy, convey a message, and sell a product to the average television viewer. My 5 yeaar old says he wants to go on the "dot com", when he wants to look at a website. I get what he wants.
