After some research, I just bought this tonight and tried it when I got home. I pourchased this because I've been having problems with dry nostrils the past few months and occassional congestion that I'm attributing to allergens. Oh my goodness! I already like this thing. I'm breathing better that I have in a long time and I wouldn't be suprised if I didn't snore tonight. Boil your water! Keep your pot clean and dry!
I worked as a production assistant on this commercial!! so funny to see it nearly four years later! And I've been using this thing since long before I helped out on the commercial, it works miracles! :)
i just used my porcelain one it was getting me all wet darn it, lol, anyways quick question i got these little packets of solution, i filled the porcelain pot up to the top, do i use one or two packets? the packets are kind of small... just wondering if i did it right.
I have to say this product works. I used it back in 2008 only 7 times and my alergies are gone since then. I bought mine at Amazon. I still have it. Just make sure you use warm water.. not hot, not cold. Hot obviously will burn and Cold will give you that drowning feeling. It is weird the first time but once you get the hang of it is pretty easy. I think this thing save me big buck of Dr visits and maybe even a surgery. The first time I heard of it was at Oprah, one time Dr Oz was at the show..
Just bought one yesterday. It's simple to use and so far, it's all positive. I fight allergies all the time (use Astepro and Allegra daily) and am not one to try just anything that goes on the market. This was recommended by a friend. I was skeptical but will try this for a while. So far, in just 2 uses, I am feeling some relief. Will use 3 - 4 times a week for about 4 weeks and see how it goes.
I've been using a neti pot for years now and it has gotten rid of 95% of my previous chronic sinusitis. It's very soothing once you get used to it. Tips: use it first thing every morning. Also use very warm (not hot) pure, non-chlorinated water.
Idk what the hell my problem is but I cant get the water to come out my other nasal passage ive watched tons of these videos and im doing the same thing...im getting pissed.
@bbcboy You may have too much blockage right now for it to come through. These things work better to prevent blockage and are less effective when you have something acute going on. Don't give up on it.
As lame as I might sound for commenting on a product I feel like I should leave a review. I've had a sinus infection for about two months now and as the weeks went by it just got worse. I went to see my doctor and she told me about Neti-Pots. The idea of pouring water in one nasal to have it come out the other was very weird and scary to me, and I was very afraid to use it for the first time, but this thing works like magic. Seriously. I can breath through my nose and smell again! Woohoo! :D
I've been using this neti pot for over 2 years, and I've NEVER had any left over water come out of my mouth in the volume like it does at 1:50 in this video. That is just a silly exaggeration. You may get a few drops, but that will involve hacking and spitting it out. Perhaps they didn't want to show that in the vid.
For those saying the water is not draining from the other nostril, the cause of your stuffiness is NOT mucus but rather swelling. The neti-pot will remove mucus but will not clear swollen nasal passages! The package warns not to use with swollen nasal passages.
Oh, and I never have a problem with having water going anywhere it's not suppose to and I don't have tonsils or a uvula. If used correctly, all of the water will drain out. Any draining afterwards is loosened mucus.
@Lovingthenaturalme sinus infection here and the swollen one side opens up great when using the neti pot, sounds like you have some issues that require surgery.
I just got this yesterday for my sinus infection. I was UBER congested. After 5 minutes after using it and blowing my nose half a dozen times, I could breathe much much better. I have to admit I was really scared of this method, but from my friends trying it and all the recommendations I've been getting about it, I had to give it a try. Glad I did. Hopefully once each night before bed will do me right. Tired of feeling like crap.
I have not been sick since June 2009, and it's because I started using the neti pot. I would always get sick at the end of big stressful projects: finals at school, closing of a show (I'm a dancer), or weeks at work with no break. My immune system would weaken from working so hard, and then I would get sick. The sickness always manifested in the form of a sinus or ear infection. Now, when I feel something coming on, I hit it with the neti pot, and it hasn't taken hold in near 2 years. Grateful!
I just got this, and it usually doesn't run through my nose that easily haha. But it does make me feel better so far! But this video is just too funny!
Tried this product yesterday because I have chronic sinusitus. It took about 5 minutes of coaxing to get the water to come out the opposing nostral. I bought the ceramic pot which seems to allow water to leak out the top and not allow a high enough pressure to get through the sinus cavity. Tried it again this morning with same results.
I'm hoping that I'm just that plugged up and with regular use it will get easier to use. And yes, I'm following the head tilting as shown in the video.
@superj991991 I use it now and it helps out I have blockage as well. It also helped with my cardiovascular and I was able to go for longer periods of time without getting winded as quick. I would recommend this to anyone who is an athlete.
I would not suggest using this everyday... your nose is not meant for that stuff. Use it only when you need it. It seems like using it too much would make your nose start producing more mucus since it starts losing it all of the time.
I use mine one time per day. If I am around people with colds, I use it twice a day and it prevents me from getting sick. I have used it for 9 months now.
rescue233 @ genecrazy - Thank you! I actually bought something called a Nasopure. I got it at a Fruitful Yield. It's the same concept, only it's a squeeze bottle and you don't have to cock your head so much. I was surprised at how much extra "crap" can come out from this cleansing process. I don't think it's any coincidence that not long after I started using it (only a couple of times) that my sinus infection went away. Thanks again for the positive feedback!

This totally works and is really useful for relieving flu symptoms. I've been using mine for a while now, but not this particular branded version. I also use regular sea salt (from the supermarket) and regular warm water from the tap (I have good quality water where I live).
With all the chemical remedies out there at the moment, it's good to see something being used that works just like taking an underwater swim in the ocean.
poor instructions for a neti pot. The user didn't tilt her head enough the showed the incorrect way of clearing the nostrils. For correct information look up healthandyoga and watch their video. Also, they have the best neti pot on the market as it's stainless steel and very easy to use with a special conical tip.
I watched afew videos on using a netipot,,,,I really didnt know what to expect.
but seeing this vedeo -she didnt make any face expretions like it was hurting so I gave it a try. I got a lazer temp gauge and got the water to 98.6(can see how it would hurt with ice water-HaHa} and tilted my head and poured it in , kinda tickled at first then it was soothing. I am still abit plugged up but afew days of doing this I bet I will be 100% again. Thanks
i saw in one video on here that if you hold out your pillow with ur hand in the middle of it and both sides tilt downwards thats becos of the dust mite shit, i seriously saw that in a video on yotube, think it was somin like bbc allergies or something and i held my pillow out this morning and both sides just fell down like weights man i was like wtf!
dust mites, they live in the dust and its their... shit that people inhale and because allergic people have sensitive immune systems when they inhale that... dust mite shit the immune system dont recognise it and its like it starts an alarm off its like "fuck what the hell is that" and it starts to fight it off which in turn causes the allergy effects.
At 1.24 the sexy female narrator says: '' It Shouldn't Cum In Your Mouth, unless you are tilting your head backwards ''. My question is: Will this product, and the narrator, help with a stiff chicks sex therapy,so the chick swallows and doesn't spit it out?
Be careful of this product. I have chronic sinusitis and I bought NeilMed last month and used the same day. The next day I had a very severe asthma attack. I had had only a mild asthma attack before two years ago. My Chest Disease specialist said cleaning the sinus with things like NeilMed might cause virus asthma and he doesnt advise his patients to do that. Be careful and seek medical advise before purchasing stuff like this
used it today, i hear it helps alot of people, guess i'm different, i tip my head and start using it,but i'll stand there fro 10 mintues and nothing will come out the other side, its not going in my throat and it is going in, but it won't go through, this product is not helping me.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
These suck. I tried this with a Sinucleanse (whatever) and it dripped whenever i coughed. No water came out of the other nostril. FUCK NETI POTS! YAY ZICAM
I use the neti pot every night and I really like the results. The only thing I'm wondering is, is there a way to get rid of the excess water right away? I've noticed that of and on for about and hour after using it water continuously drips from my nose. Even if I gently blow it out it starts dripping again in about 2 seconds. Also if I shake my head from side to side I can hear it sloshing around. Any suggestions? The irrigation does help but the constant drip afterward is pretty annoying.
After using my neti pot, I gently blow through the nostrils into the sink which gets rid of quite a bit. Then, holding a paper towel, I bend over at the waist and again gently blow my nose for a few seconds. If I don't take this 2nd step, later in the day when I bend over, fluid will run out onto the floor which can be embarrassing.
just finished using it right now for the first time; it's weird at first, and some salt water drained into my mouth but since you have to keep your mouth open it drains out. it's a strange sensation but afterwards your sinuses feel clean and refreshed. I plan on using it again tomorrow
I love this! Very easy to use after getting used to and works wonders. It may seem bizarre, but it quickly becomes a very normal practice- and the "bizareness" is worth clear sinuses anyways! I think the premixed packets are a bit pricy, but I heard NON-iodized salt works just as well.
I buy a 26.5 ounce cannister of "365" brand sea salt over at Whole Foods Market for less than 3 bucks. CHEAP! That's a huge supply of non-iodized salt, I'm still not even half ways on the first cannister after 4 months of daily neti'ing. Just be sure to use 1/4 teaspoon of salt per 8 ounces of WARM water. Be sure to save the little plastic spoon that came with your original neti pot salt container, use that same amount. Cheap, soothing AND fun!
I find it helps quite a bit, though it takes some getting used to and some experimentation to find the right angle - and the wrong angle feels . .. . I would say weird. You really want to get your head at a downward angle or it will feel like swimming with your nose unplugged.

if your too cheap to buy a netipot you can always fill a turkey baster up with warm salt water and use that.

dust is a bug?!?!?!? pause it when she says "dust" and they show you a picture of a bug......
bubbabojanglez 2 years ago
dust mites, they live in the dust and its their... shit that people inhale and because allergic people have sensitive immune systems when they inhale that... dust mite shit the immune system dont recognise it and its like it starts an alarm off its like "fuck what the hell is that" and it starts to fight it off which in turn causes the allergy effects.

@exonei

Yeah i gree. She's a hawt healthy honie.
I would drink her neti pot water.
@ 1:20 I hope she doesn't shove that hose too far up her nose holes too often. Her nose holes might stay wide open.

just finished using it right now for the first time; it's weird at first, and some salt water drained into my mouth but since you have to keep your mouth open it drains out. it's a strange sensation but afterwards your sinuses feel clean and refreshed. I plan on using it again tomorrow

I love this! Very easy to use after getting used to and works wonders. It may seem bizarre, but it quickly becomes a very normal practice- and the "bizareness" is worth clear sinuses anyways! I think the premixed packets are a bit pricy, but I heard NON-iodized salt works just as well.
maple841 3 years ago 2
I buy a 26.5 ounce cannister of "365" brand sea salt over at Whole Foods Market for less than 3 bucks. CHEAP! That's a huge supply of non-iodized salt, I'm still not even half ways on the first cannister after 4 months of daily neti'ing. Just be sure to use 1/4 teaspoon of salt per 8 ounces of WARM water. Be sure to save the little plastic spoon that came with your original neti pot salt container, use that same amount. Cheap, soothing AND fun!

drown standing in your bathroom with the pot hanging out of your nose.. *shakes head*
This thing scares me.. I have bad allergies though, and right now i have sinus congestion, a sore throat and a bit of a cough, could this really help?
SimplySLoan 2 years ago
It will work like a dream!!! Trust me it appaera scary at first but believe me its so easy and harmless...you must do it
SDSen 2 years ago
I find it helps quite a bit, though it takes some getting used to and some experimentation to find the right angle - and the wrong angle feels . .. . I would say weird. You really want to get your head at a downward angle or it will feel like swimming with your nose unplugged.

I actually went out and bought one, it did help with my sinus congestion.. (and helped me sleep at night!)
It's an odd sensation, but im glad i tried this!
