Zeon fails. They couldn't even beat the Federation's planes and tanks. And once the Federation rolled out their own MS they put an end to Zeon in no time.
They couldnt beat the planes and tanks? They conquered over half of the earth in the opening months. Infact they conquered so much so quickly they couldnt extend the supply lines fast enough. If anything beat Zeon its the fact they didn't build they're infrastructure enough. Plus the fact they had 1/3 the resources of the feddies. Oh and the fact the Plot revolved around a cry baby bitch who got the best suit of the series. And still almost lost numerous fights to inferior MS. (Ramba Ral?)
But at what cost? They lost so much of their forces and many of their Aces died. They were in no position to even challenge the Federation's numerous tanks and planes. Plus, insteading of focusing on their development of the Gelgoog and beam weaponry, they made a new stupid mobile armor every week.
They lost several aces to Amuro yes. The anime tells you that Zeon extended they're battle lines to far to quickly they had to capture Odessa just to HAVE supplies. They kicked the feddies ass until they ran into the stalemate (Which is exactly what Germany did in WW2 when it Invaded russia and expanded on to many fronts with out enough supplies.) Gihrens reliance on Mobile Armor's and the Solar Ray relate to Hitlers "Super Weapons" Such as the V1 n V2 Rocket experiments. Do some research
@thedynazty Yep cuse Zeon was Based on the Nazis. But who Cares Zeon is a Better virsion of Nazi Germany cuse they dont want to wipe out an intire Religion.
@CptainGarmaZabi Judaism is a religion, but Jews aren't necessarily all adherents to it. What Hitler sought to wipe out was the ethnic minorities that constituted European Jews, as well as additional "undersirables", such as gypsies. Also, Zeon is indeed an awesome allegory of Nazi Germany.

For one, he originally only intended to kill those Jews and others that had constituted the Weimar Republic, and were responsible for wasting the sacrifice that Kaiser Wilhelm made in stepping down by accepting the Treaty of Versailles and launching two bouts of full blown hyperinflation; the Weimar government was indeed composed of fools and traitors. Things got out of hand from Barbarossa on.
If you actually read some on the back story and political side of the one year war. You'd know it was the lack of supplies and building of a resource management structure that lost the war for zeon. Plus I agree with your comment on the mobile armors. They lost several of they're original MS pilots but new ones came quickly. And most of this was from space battles. Watch the anime's how people in the tanks respond to seeing a zaku..The only way a Tank could drop a Zaku is shelling its back.
And of course, the fact that they completely destroyed Sides 1,2,4, and 5 at the start of the war cost them any chance of getting aid from other space colonies.
Good point. But dosn't that more or less tie in to stupid management of limited resources? (Humans can be pilots mechanics ship crews so they are a resource too.)
