  • Jesus i thought you were Acle Kahney from Tesseract then when i saw the thumbnail

  • is the guitar slightly tilted downward, are your guitars are shimmed the neck pocket?

  • How far can low action be sets on a floyd rose guitar ? i mean compared to other types of bridges, like fixed bridge, tune o matic or thro body

  • Setting intonation is different from guitar to guitar. I have a gibson style bridge, had the "fret buzz". Also had new strings.. Shame on the sales guy, it was the strings that were faulty!

  • @TechnicalFreak That is very true actually, apologies I guess I'm too engrosed into the world of ibanez / floyd bridges. Maybe I should change the title...

  • that seemed more straight forward, most of the american videos dont explain properly

  • so.....u SHOULD have a slight bow in the neck?? for 22 years Ive been terrified to think of having a bOw in the neck* wow

  • @97warlock yeah sure, a very slight bow manifesting at the headstock end. To be perfectly honest there isn't really any way of doing massive damage to your neck, even if you slacken the truss off massively it still won't warp or snap. The very minor bow will allow for a low action and no buzz from the early frets.

  • @97warlock Ty ....Ive pretty much got the action set now, atleast to a satisfactory heigth .......Problem was in my Nut ,haha) iT was set a bit too high on a shem, had to lower it ever so slightly, ended up stripping the screw hol;es & going up one length size to grab more wood......but its Fixed, Finally.

  • I think the best way to see if you're doing right is to push down the first and the last fret on the E-string at the same time and then touch on the 12:th fret and see how much of a gap there is between the string and the fret. There should be a little gap, about 1-2 millimeters. If the string lies on fret you have tighten the rod to much.

  • I did a little truss work and now its ok thanks

  • @petrucci74 if you have a lot of buzz from the upper frets chances are the action is wrong at the bridge end. Adjusting the truss is mostly only for adding some bow to the bottom end of the neck to stop buzz @ low actions from the first few frets. Try raising the bridge a little to sort the issue out first before you adjust the truss.

  • Its not special that it has a handle, pretty sure you could put it in a gig bag and take it anywhere. And have it protected.

  • Well done dude, i think now i v got the courage to start adjusting the truss rod! Very useful video and information! 5 stars! CheeeeeeeRs!

  • Hey dude, what was that website you mentioned??? I couldn't understand it so well in the video.

  • Do you have any objection to me tuning to drop B and pluging up to my amp while adjusting my truss rod?

  • hey I have a ibanez 7v sbl on the 5th freet most my strings are buzzing damn Im scared to adjust the truss rod but if I did would I tighten it or loosen it? I looked down the neck and I can see a small dip at the 5th freet area to me it seems if loosen it the dip will back out some? or should I let my guitar set up guy fix it? scarry this is a mint 7vsbl let me know? thanks

  • @deweymhoke seems and odd place to get buzz, only on the 5th fret. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the actual fret wire in this case to be causing you issues? If you look along the neck does it look like there is a weird bump or bend around the 5th fret? I'd be surprised if there was.

  • Very informative. Thanks a bunch.

  • thats gota be the best looking guitar i have ever seen.sweet as fuck.

  • Hey dude

i own an ibanez s320, with the ZR trem

the action is horrible it hurts to play

so i lowed it, to a good place when it feals nice to play

and the whole neck buzz's and sounds like the same note all over the neck only the 1st to the 3rd fret doesn't buzz, i dont no what to do

if you have anything to help please tell me

    ;)

  • @bubbleabee just sounds too low an action. try making the action higher and add a tiny bit of bow to the neck via the truss. dont forget to slacken the strings off a little when you do it then tune back up and leave it a little while to adjust.

  • @bubbleabee You need to raise the action a little bit, give the neck a little more bow, and have less tension on the strings, seeing that this was 11 months ago, you probably have your problem figured out, but whatever

  • Thanks for the video. I tried adjust the truss rod my self but end up giving it to a guitar tech. Btw, that is 1 awsome looking guitar...........

  • cheers

  • i was jw(you may have explained this in the video so im sorry) but how do i know if it's the truss rod and not the action that is causing the strings to buzz? :(

  • Is this so you can show off your new guitar? :p

  • It has a handle so he can take it anywhere.

  • Thanks, I was wondering why my guitar was only buzzing on the lower frets of my low E string (or D in my case, since I tune a full step down. lol).

Next time I change strings, I'm gonna loosen the truss just a tab bit.

  • dont mess with the truss rod too much or you could break it and cause a whole mess of problems

  • I did mention that people should be careful about 3 times in the video... if the james wants to adjust the truss rod a bit I think it'll be safe.

Guitar techs everywhere will be annoyed at me for losing them money.
