Sorry if I offended, my anal point was pointed at the type of comments where people always have opinions about how the drink should be made, at the end of the day you make the drink to how you enjoy it, cheers cousin
When you heating the coffeemaker about 20min do you fill it with water in tank before to heat machine? Please answer me i bought it today and I'm not sure if I do all things right. Sorry for my bad english I'm from Lithuania. Thank you for answer.
@1337D4nG3r yes you fill it up with water before pre heating the espresso maker. the tank holds 32oz of water . I have a similar delonghi espresso maker. be sure to run hot water through the machine by preheating and then pulling shots without adding the epresso powder to the filter. this is the rid the machine of any chemicals from manufacturing. hope this helps.
@leemetson Wow! Thanks for that insightful comment! I can't believe how some people insert comments that have no useful information whatsoever but show their ignorance and prove beyond a doubt that cousins do indeed have offspring. Speaking of anal....
Interesting to note you have to hold onto the glass to stop it drifting away from under the spouts. This is a "feature" (some might say failing) of these and similar machines - they vibrate so much in use that you HAVE to hold/adjust the glass under the spouts, until it's full enough to keep itself steady. You didn't hear it vibrate when in use because the recording volume is turned way down then - listen carefully, you'll hear it happen.
Curious to know why you tamp so lightly. I was also told about 30 lbs pressure. Also, how finely do you grind the beans? And one final question: you extract for about 20 seconds, yes? Same time for the double shot? Thanks!
@jeffg2020 You can tamp it harder depending on the grind you have. I do not grind the beans myself, I use Lavazza espresso grind. Correct about 20 seconds. Same time for double shot.
@jeffg2020 Different brands have different grind. It's not an exact science you just got to get a feel of it. Also the mixture of the espresso, will change your way of making it. By mix I mean that most espresso cans/packs are mixture of several coffees. You can probably see this in the fine print of the package what the ratio of different coffee is. Hope this helps.
I just got this thing, it took almost an hour for me to get the setup down (my 1st espresso machine) and I walked away without any espresso. I did pretty much what was just detailed in the video and when I turned the dial to the far right, nothing came out of the sprouts. (sighs) guess I'll try again.
@jblanch3 I'm sure you figured it out by now but for those who don't if no coffee then the reservoir needs to be readjusted. If the seal isn't snug it won't pull through the machine.
@nihil1 From an industry standpoint that's complete nonsense. You have to make what most people enjoy, which has already been uncovered through studies. You can usually get easy visual indicators (and time) from watching a shot. Criticizing them as "idiots" is only showing your own ignorance on the subject of trying to get the best out of a machine. There are always nay-sayers who say "Ahhh whatever!" but this is really just ignorance.
@GreatPacNorthwest If you put too much pressure on the tamper, part of your coffee will be dry as the power will not be enough to get thru the entire circle. The steam will find the weakest point and will run to your cup from that spot instead of going through the entire ground.
@GreatPacNorthwest 30 lbs is just a starting point for commercial machines. It's more important (on commercial machines) that you stay consistent in your pressure. With cheapo machines that use pressurized portafilters there is sometimes not enough pressure to push water past finely ground coffee, so a light tamp works much better.

You are making terrible espresso. That is not a perfect shot. Both shots were bad. You can't make espresso without a nice expensive burr grinder, period. No preground Italian junk.
@gyzari Maybe it's as good as it gets on this machine, true, but it's not really great espresso. The crema (not "foam") is way too thin and pale, and has big bubbles in it. I tried that black can of Lavazza once for fun and it was terrible compared to my freshly roasted coffee. Buy a hand grinder for $80 from Kyocera. You'll thank me.
@jasperandchipstudios You can wait only 3 minutes, but if you want to have thick cream wait 20 minutes and warm your cup with hot water since the top of the machine metal cup warmer is weak.
hello, i saw in youtube that they replace the steam wand that it can make the milk so good to pour. You have any idea to change the steam wand ? I asked them but no answer !

20 minutes is bad enough, but this machine is loud. reducing the volume while the machine works was just you false advertising.

Besides, there's no "right way" to make coffee - except for that one YOU like best.

Hey aren't you suppose to give your grounds about a 30 lb. tamp? That barely looked like you gave it a 1 lb. tamp

@gyzari Spot on, except you don't brew coffee in steam, you brew it in water. Water comes out not steam :)

@GreatPacNorthwest Looks like nothing wrong with his tamper.
What I do find strange is the feeling that it's necessary to mute the sound while it pumps the coffee. Strange.
