  • oh last question, how was move in day? was it hectic

  • @bostoncreme143 lol np. i actually moved in a week before move in day b/c i was part of a math program. but from what i saw it actually was really nice. mch better than other universities that i saw. there's people to help you move in. overall the rooms aren't that big so there really isn't a need to bring much, but some people choose to bring their whole bedroom with them. overall it seemed like a nice, easy experience

  • The answer to all of your problems is University Plaza. If anyone reads this, please consider visiting U.P. before wasting your money and sanity sharing a room on campus. It's cheaper, has better amenities, and is right next to campus. I had no idea that U.P. existed when I transferred to NIU because it's not part of the university. I work there now, and mark my words: YOU WILL FEEL CHEATED after you take a tour! Come on by and ask for Ed. I'd be happy to show you around.

  • @MrFasteddie1987 good heads up thx for the post

  • I'm planning on going to NIU next year and I've recently gotten accepted. It's been one of my main choices for a while and I'm really looking forward to getting out of the south (even though I've only been here for 3 years). Since I'm going to have to be living on campus my first year, when would I want to sign up for housing in order to get into a decent room? Or won't I have to worry about rooms being gone in stevenson/new residence? Thanks

  • I like your military videos; very helpful.

  • @jobless4life tyvm i'll keep doing those then, tried going a diff direction but military vids is what ppl care about :)

  • Well, the new Grant C renovation is making the rooms 50% larger, installing air condition, remodeling all the bathrooms and floors(same Study rooms and Lounges that Stevenson has) and adding new furniture and bed mattresses. Its basically the same renovation that Stevenson had a number of years ago, but its newer, so to anyone undecided on dorm rooms, I suggest either Stevenson or Grant C.

  • @adamz1111 good tip, my gf had been considering new Grant, the thing about Grant, i know it's going to be pretty nice. the thing is, it's a freshman hall. and to be honest, imo, if you're a serious student who's really there for an education, not partying, then you need to stay away from freshmen halls. freshmen dorms tend to be noisy at ungodly hours, and have the most issues. now if they offer study hours, thats a diff story. i just NEVER heard anything good from anyway who stayed in grant
