  • King of pop "MJ"

    King of blues "JM"

  • @SuperAkira888 I think you may be taking this a bit far.

  • @SuperAkira888 Yeah he's awesome but not the "King of Blues".

  • Damn him! Unfeasibly good.

  • man i need to get my guitar fixed rip Mike and anybody who wanted to do a cover to this

  • beautiful.

  • RIP MJ

    The king of pop.

  • When guitar sings...

  • That performance was utterly amazing. My hairs are standing on end! John and that guitar are a gift to mankind. R.I.P.Mr.Jackson....We'll all be rockin to your tunes for eternity!

  • Best part. Hands down

  • Amazing song played amazingly by John Mayer!!

  • It's like he is crying with his guitar at the end.. .

  • No musician alive as good as this man.

  • I actually saw an intervew where the person doing the interview asked why he didn't sing, he said that he wouldn't have been able to do such an amzing song justice, he said something along the lines of MJ's vocals being a bit out of his wheel house. All in all, a classy decision. Love this performance!!

  • Even as tribute to Michael Jackson, He still had that rock and roll feel with his playing. Pure and Sweet.

  • this gave me chills.

  • THIS WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE FUNERAL

  • 20 personas son hijas de satan

  • Therez sumthin so princy about JM ...

  • sad..

  • CASATE CONMIGO MI AMORRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • wowww!!! love him. he looks very beautifull in that suit!:D

  • GREAT!!!!

  • beauitful!

  • I was there, and this brought me to tears! Not because of how sad the day was but because it was such an amazing tribute to this song!

  • gotta love his guitar face

  • i dont remeber him at the memorial

  • @2012memphisbest

well i guess you do now, hayzz

  • He had such a respectful way of playing here, its nice to see. Short but sweet licks at the end..im love'n it

  • just gives me chills everytime

  • First chord, started crying. Beautiful song!!

  • One Word : Chills

    Loved It !

  • Chills.

  • @2fat2die this is the This Is It band.

I disagree, I think they played very good, I really like the band.

  • This mkes me glad that there are still people out there that has respect for MJ its a shame how much love he got after and not before he died :) True MJ Fan Before and After No one can tke his spot King Of Pop Still Lives

  • Just nice.

  • It would've been great if he had sung, but we already know how great he is ;)

  • I cannot watch this enough. Dude is awesome.

  • John can play guitar to me - anytime!! ;0)

  • Imagine how intimidating that had to be for John. Obviously the emotion of the ceremony, playing a song on the guitar while you stand a few feet from the casket of the most influential person in music ever, all while his children and family looked on..Way to go John, Respect.

  • People, let's get this straight. John Mayer is a guitar player first, songwriter second, "singer" last. There is no question that the best way for him to pay tribute to MJ was to play. Actually, it was the singing that detracted from this performance.

  • I LOVE JOHN MAYER <3 . i love his voice, and he's just hott

  • Bloody awesome shit! This guy can fuckin play! Despite being a tool!

  • john mayer needs to fire every1

  • bad band

  • @2fat2die you really think Michael Jackson would hire a bad band?

  • @brunoob10

Yeah, Micheal Jackson hired it, right :D

but youre right, the musicians are pros but in this vid they just play a little bit shitty and that was my intention

  • very good. i miss him

  • one word.

    beautiful

  • JM actually said on an interview that he wasn't singing because his vocal range is very limited, unlike MJ's. And by just playing I think he honored the memory of MJ as well as possible. John Mayer is really one with the guitar. And we all know how much MJ loved guitar!

  • This man is a killer on the guitar. When I heard him play this song I Couldn't stop listening to it.

  • The last riff sounded exactly like Michael screaming! genius

  • lovely played guitar!

  • MAD RESPECT FOR JOHN MAYER FOR PLAYING IT WITHOUT SINGING. I CAN STILL HEAR MJ SINGING IT!

  • does anyone notice she was too early singing??? great song an instrumentals tho they killed it!

  • @kdoyle112 actually she wasn't i think mayer was trying to create a call and response at that point. thanks for trying though.

  • thx so much........for posting this

  • John Mayer has an awesome blues feel!

  • @ThePreciousguitar87 this isn't blues.. he played great though

  • this is great, how does he get such a great tone

  • @kevinreedmusic

his fingers, a strat, and a two-rock amp

  • @guitarplayer407 And about 1300 other pedals..

  • MJ&JM

  • Comment removed

  • omg this is awesome *__* love it...

  • Does anyone else think it's totally dumb that the guys in the end were sunglasses?!

  • @anakoda they were hiding tears... ;_;

  • @anakoda those were his brothers. they were paying tribute to michael (see the gloves?) and i'm sure they were hiding their tears ;_;

  • He said the vocals are just out of his range. With the guitar your range is endless

  • man how much is music itself is going to miss mj? from 3:24 the guitar actually started crying.

  • wow, you gotta respect him for this. he didn't sing the song I'm guessing cuz he didn't want to be the focus of it, he wanted people to hear michaels voice even after he was dead. Mad respect for you John.

  • @Bagrad100 I saw a JM interview sometime after this performance and he explained why he played it as a guitar solo. He said he has a vocal threshold & it could never match MJs. But on guitar he has an endless range. By playing the song through his guitar he essentially created another voice; hes always said his guitar is his 2nd voice. He "sang" HN on guitar. That's the utmost respect for another musician; accepting that you cant match their range so you respect though other (brilliant) methods.

  • @Bagrad100 actually i think he just wanted to play an instrumental..('',)

so what do you say to the other performers who covered his voice?

  • @keverinkarama maybe he wanted to say that john mayer's way of respecting him was newly apealing, not only meaningful..

  • @Bagrad100 well, I heard him say in an interview that he didn't sing because he can't reach the notes in the song... but he played it beautifully!

  • @Bagrad100 Thats exactly it man

  • He was born to play this song... JM MJ

  • mayer é incrivel mesmo interpretando ele se sai muito bem

  • the best performance of the memorial......go john!

  • I'm an almost 18 year old guy and i think that John Mayer is really talented and an amazing artist, i loved how he played this song in MJ's funeral, so greatful, you rock MAN!!

  • Boa noite, esse foi o dia mais triste , Michael Jackson sempre será o the king of pop, saudades desse grande artista. Uma bela homenagem do Jphn Mayer.

  • The guitar wept as he played this song ..

  • AMAZING played by John Mayer! AND MICHAEL JACKSON ALWAYS BE A LEGEND!

  • Here we have the biggest ass kissing event in our time.... everyone was there to ass rim everyone else. I am very offended by this and by his horrible father.... not to mention those black muslim thugs everywhere. MJ deserved better.... he should have had a memorial service just for the little boys he got juiced on liquor and played with.

  • @rumpwrestler well when you die, ill be there to call your funeral a complete shame, then i'll criticize you for everything you did wrong, and ill talk about how you waste peoples time with bullshit comments like this.

  • Tout simplent :MERCI!

  • The king of guitar for the king of pop. Amazing.

  • john nailed it...best artist ive known and mj of course

  • Still to this day I have not seen the Memorial service for Michael.

I just can't watch it, When I found out that he died, I felt like my heart fell to my stomach, I had this heavy pain in my chest and I instantly started crying. I had no idea I could feel that way for a man I had never met. Michael will always have a special place in my heart, and i will never forget him. My children's children will Love Michael.

  • Hes a Poser but it came out great.

  • @TheElephant79 yah a poser who recorded with bb king played with eric clapton and buddy guy yah hes full of shit

  • human nature is a true masterpiece and John did justice

  • makes me want to cry

  • heartbreaking... first time I watch this since he passed away.

  • Michael...16 months ago....when i heard this music i broke down...to think i ll never see you again singing it...it was a very sad day.

Music has lost its magic and nobody will thriller us the way you did. You are forever, sweet, no one can have this huge place in my heart the way you do.

RIP - that's all for L.O.V.E. and love lives forever

  • I love this guy. He made me smile AND cry during his memorial performance ...

  • Under these conditions I can't believe this niknak guys comments about a wrong note...you must be an amazing musician who has never hit a wrong note ...and even if this is true(which I am sure it isn't) you need to to well...I'll let that comment go..

  • @Mindraker1 I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you so this is the only comment I'll make: clearly you are the only one who seems to have a problem with MJ and JM on this page. Many of us commenting here are heavily influenced by music and admire legends such as Jackson and Mayer. You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion but you are being disrespectful. Frankly you come off as ignorant and you should quit insulting people who most likely know more about the music industry than you.

  • hey check it out at 1:52 he plays a wrong note. still a great idea though.

  • MJ and JM, genius.

  • Both Michael Jackson and Miles Davis had been more than proud of John's version of "Human Nature"!

  • 77 Artures

  • Michael...15 montsh ago the world was watching this...i couldnt hold my tears and the sadness. This loss is much more than we can ever imagine.

  • @2kn1 i totally agree with you. About Michael and this incredible performance

  • Legend

  • hope you are talking about jackson not maher

  • @mindraker1 ok john meyer played the song for michael he didn't sing it out of respect because no one has come close to singing it like him. And as far as michael goes he was freakin awesome. What the hell are you doing checking out his videos if you don't enjoy? Seriously, it's only on videos like these that make a big hit do you get idiots wasting there time posting... Get a life! So anywho I was really just going to leave a message saying I fucken love this song.

  • He Did An AMAZING Job, Haven The Guitar Lead Instead Of Someone Singin Was Brillant No One Coulda Sang it It Like Mike RIP

  • Ultimate phail. Open your eyes, and get a new guitar, for god's sake.

  • @Mindraker1 that is a joke right?

  • @chiefbigbeef52 No, seriously, this is an utter nightmare. Oh god, this video is starting up again. Curse you for making me come back to this video.

  • @Mindraker1 and how do you find this as a failure?

  • @chiefbigbeef52 We should be jumping for joy that the musical misery that was Michael Jackson is finally gone and that eventually the media will no longer be cramming his funeral down our throats.

People can finally find their own originality again. And mourning this loser with bad songs with your eyes closed isn't going to help it go away any faster.

  • @Mindraker1 the mark he made on musically history is something no one should ever disrespect. I am a musician and i know how and when to respect a man who made his legacy by music. he was a truly great performer and a phenomenal entertainer. what about his music dont you like? He wrote and sang with power and emotion and it was all to make a statement. and john mayer did a great job with the way he played this song. it was a beautiful composition.

  • @chiefbigbeef52 OK, I disrespect it because it was awful and he was not a "phenomenal entertainer". Please, someone who changes his race merely for appeal to a richer crowd? Sensationalism of dangling one's child over a balcony? How low can you go?

  • @Mindraker1 You stupid fuck.. You dont like michaels music? I dont think you got a good mind about music because everyone who had barbie girl as his favorite is stuper that isnt music, that is a stupid girl screaming in a microphone. Get a life you stupid fuck

  • @Daylibbery God help me, my ears bleed when I hear his music. Help me, let me close this window before I hear another tribute to this madness.

  • @chiefbigbeef52 finally a fellow clear minded person, how did we ever sink so low.. its all the media's fault and how they present us their information... I liked his music.. but i dont give a shit about the person behind it.. I DONT F***ING KNOW THE GUY!!

  • u dumbass he has a skin disease that made him white

  • @haruhicookies This lunatic Michael Jackson MADE himself white and had surgery to PRETEND he was white. He couldn't even be proud of his own race.

And ... god make this awful noise stop.

  • @Mindraker1 WTF?!

You can`t make yourself white, you ass. If you could I`m pretty sure there would be many people out there who would do that.

He had a skin disease called Vitiligo. There are even pictures that can proove that. It`s time you get your head out of your ass, sweatheart.

  • @mjkingofmusic Typical black man calling white people "sweetheart". God this music is horrendous.

  • the greatest tribute for the greatest musician RIP MJ

  • Omg this is my favorite song of all time

  • He shoulda released it. In memory of MJ this would be a gift 4 his fans. Dotcha think? I never heard a better version of it.

  • sad ;-(

  • John Mayer, I salute you!

  • indescritivel..awesome!

He was a saint among men.

  • Awesome! WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON...YOU WERE MORE THEN THE KING OF POP, YOU WERE THE KING OF MUSIC

  • Comment removed

  • 8 months today and still hurts. I will never forget this day.

  • This Is Beautiful...

  • I can hear MJs voice singing this at the back of my head :)

  • John Mayer is supposed to perform in London with Michael

  • Nice(Y)

  • je t'aime +++ sois heureux mon ange
