They would still be making them today if they had just not made them as cheap as they did.

There first run in 2007 was there best run. The glass globe was old new stock that were made in Germany. In 2008 they were made in China and many had problems. Finding one today in good condition is very hard since many are cloudy and sticking to the inner glass. However owning one is still the ultimate in Lava Lamps.

It is purple liquid with yellow lava that gives it that orange look to it. They are no longer made.

hey what brand lava lamps do you recomend because i went and got a 16" but it doesnt flow right it just goes up then stays for 10 minutes then comes down its stupid

I just discovered the colussus lava lamp at their website today after buying a mini lava lamp at K-Mart (white/blue). I also have one of the "grande" size lava lamps and I thought it was huge but this colossus lamp is so cool. I have got to get me one some day.

They are sooo huge. The fun part is the delivery of it on a pallet to your sidewalk then you have to take it up the stairs to your home . Now that is fun but well worth it. Take care and thanks.

No it is curb side delivery only. And must be delivered with a Fed-Ex with rear lift only. If you take it piece by piece then not to bad. But the globe is 110lb of dead liquid weight to move.

Yikes I hope the globe is very well packaged. 1101bs is pretty heavy and I'm sure that the shape of the globe doesn't help make moving it any easier. I just moved my "grande" size lava lamp into my bedroom. I haven't turned it on in probably a year and it was in a room that was 45 degrees. I hope it doesn't take 40 hours for it to heat up and get going. I had forgot how much I loved my lava lamp. Can't wait to see it flowing again. It has blue liquid with yellow goo.

u lucky how did u carry that to ur house and how long dose it take for it to heat up and how much did it cost ?

It is shipped by Fed ex on a pallet with 3 boxes on it. It took time to get the globe 110lbs up the stairs in the box. One step at a time.Take about 24 hours for it to start running But can run for weeks on end with dimmer on half. It ran $1300.00

with the glass table. This model was the first few built by Lava World 3 years ago. And I feel was the best built at that time.

The glass globe was done in germany on this first run model. They are now done in China and not as crystal clear.

They are online only. Never seen them in stores. With out table around $900.00 with a plain silver base. Extra $100.00 for a custom colored base I believe. There prices keeps changing now do to the economy.

The only lrg lamp in stores would be in Spencers gift shop. A few may still have the 2 ft tall ones.
