  • Wish i had a dad like mark...so loving, supportive, encouraging and believes in you..Just wonderful.I want to have a peaceful,God fearing loving and happy home like this.Bless them all

  • I found mark a great father..... I also found the teens abit more mature than others on this show

  • Oh my god, I'm crying.

Mark is an amazing human being :)

  • Mark's children are going to be amazing adults when their older. What an inspiration.

  • Mark is an AMAZING parent. Simply amazing

  • Wowwww.. I am super impressed by this family, yeah they are a little over the top strict, BUT they are the best example of a good Christian Family I have ever seen!! This is the face of Christianity that should been seen more. The stable, happy, non-homophobic Southern Christians.

  • The world needs more parents like Mark!

I pray if I become a parent I am at least half as good as Mark.

  • I really enjoyed this episode and being Christian makes me proud that there's a family like that who really are Christian (don't just carry the name) through and through. :)

  • I just looked up the definition of strict and (in the dictionary I have) it says "demanding that rules concerning behavior are obeyed and observed." So technically, these parents are strict. However, they're not mean or unfair. And I do believe that they are very caring, compassionate, and loving parents (whether the children they're parenting are theirs or not).

  • i wish i would be a dad like Mark in the future

  • I wanted to see what the kids were like now, and the stalker that I am, I found Ross' Myspace, aha. On his profile, he said this about them:

And finally a family i was with for ten days of my life Mark, Lynn, Mitchael, Hunter and Heather, The Garnett's. I may have only been with them for ten short days but in that time they gave me a second chance, a new way of looking and seeing, and the belief in me, even when i couldn't see it.

  • It really shouldn't be called "World's Strictest Parents" it truthfully should be called

"World's Nicest Parents" I've watched this one and the Indian one so far.

IMO it seems to be the trouble these days with parenting that all the strictness of days gone by has disappeared and when there IS strictness, there is not the unconditional love to go with it....

I think relationships in general could learn a lot from this programme....

  • I love Mark.....I need a Dad like him....

  • If I had a father like Mark I wouldn't even dare to disappoint him. But sadly I don't :(

  • If anyone knows Mark in real life, I think they can honestly tell him that he's a great man and father. I misjudged him at the beginning however, he made his true intentions clear and personally, it was quite touching. It's nice to know that they are truly caring parents these days. I'm sure that he made a big change towards those two children.

  • wow I wouldn't mind having a dad like that...he uses reasonable judgement and fairness to raise his kids instead of straight up yelling in their faces...

  • dude mark is buff.

  • That dad is amazing. And I totally misjudged both of the parents at first. But when the dad said "I'd be proud to call you my son", that was just so sweet! c:

  • Wow...after making it through the whole episode, I must say I misjudged the parents. I thought they were being unreasonably strict at first, but then I realized they were just being loving. This seems like a great family.

  • when the dad said "I'd be proud to have you as my son" ...that was beyond touching, his kindness makes me want to cry it's so sweet.

  • this is real christianity even though im a christian my self i rarely see it it just so beautiful!

  • An amazing family, parents & children. Really proves; show respect, earn respect. Just watching this makes me thankful.

  • this family are sooo supportive and caring... especially the dad

  • these parents are not strict, they are just different, they just want there kids to have a brilliant life.

Not a life where they can lose everything because of drugs alcohol or anything.

Mark is one of the best dads i ave seen on this programme!

  • It's the true power of God!

  • i loved this episode.. everything about it

  • ross needs to man up

  • Wow, this was really touching. Even I'm crying. :')

  • Haha I CAUGHT A FISH!!!

  • the last one-to-one talk was realy touching

  • Wow this episode really touched me, and it's amazing how Mark came out of his bad experiences to be a better dad for his kids.

  • Mark is a good man.

  • this is best best ep i ever watched. Thanks.

  • When i have my own kids and become a parent i would want to be just like Mark. He's great.

  • Mitchell's Hot ;)

  • wow mark the dad is a true reflection of christ:)

  • So touching.. How i wish i have parents like that. Ross is cute btw.

  • were those steaks? THOSE WERE HUGE!

  • Mark is really an example of a wonderful and caring dad. (: i really pray i can be a good parent like that in the future (:

also, can't help but notice the Jack Johnson sound clips :D

  • Im a teenager and i smoke weed and drink with friends occasionally, and i even agree 100% that Mark is an amazing dad

  • i should show this to my dad xD

  • I loved this episode!!!! My family ended up wanting to watch the rest with me. This is such a good show and a great family!! :)

  • My dad died when i was a kid, seeing Mark and how he is with his children is really emotional for me. His kids are very lucky to have a dad like that, and what saddens me the most is that other kids have a dad like Mark and don't truly appreciate that.

  • I would gladly sacrifice the material goods, the outings with friends, the freedom on the internet, in place for such a loving family.

A fully supporting family is so hard to find these days, and even I don't have one right now. As a teen going through a decaying family, I feel that such petty things like that are worth sacrificing for a good, well-bonded, loving family.

  • I wish wish wish my dad was more like Mark.

  • inspired. thanks.

  • Mark reminds me of my dad! Love you dad :)

  • the daddy is just too perfect he must of been through some things in his cchildhood to be how he is now i love him:)

  • Mark made me cry.

  • i loved the daddy daughter date...

  • I was watching this, and I'm an adult, thinking what it would have been like to have parents like that, and I mourned a little that it's so foreign and amazing to me to see it. I love Mark and the teens!

  • wow mark is awesome..i wish i could spend a week with that family..everyone needs a dad like that, honestly. i know i would learn alot from that..p.s. i wana go to the UK!! haha

  • They changed so much in 8 days!!! Good for them and good for Mark!

  • aside from mark (who is the best), i have noticed they used tons of jack johnson in this episode. lol

  • Mark is awesome...

  • i love the tone of his voice he is very understandable

  • i like mark

  • I love seeing shows with such a positive, happy, hopeful ending.

  • I have to say the first episode I was really not liking the family...but it wasn't until they showed their true nature I realised this is a kind and loving family. They are truly blessed. Even Mark had his hard times, and he shows us all that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it can only get better.

  • i have to hope that i could even come close to being as good a dad as him.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!

  • I really hope the mum and dad (and their kids) have seen this youtube video and seen all the comments saying how great the dad is. This bloke needs to know what a great job he is doing

  • MAN WHAT an awesum dad !

  • Thanks for posting this. Hello from Spain!

  • Such a wonderful and supportive Dad Mark is. The wife and kids are lucky to have him. I'd say i want a dad like that but i love my own dad too much to say that.

  • Mark is amazing. As a Christian he could give lectures about homosexuality, but instead he tried to help the boy :}}}

    He is a great dad.

  • Glad I was raised in bama. Mark has such a soothing voice..

  • i love you mark i pray that my dad turns out to be similair to me dad

  • who votes Mark Best Dad of The Year? :D

  • Mark is an awesome Dad. But just because he Knows Jesus and God. God makes diferences in the persons. :))

  • Mark is a fantastic Dad.

  • This family are so cute I love them ! The sons are kindah hot too but not in the like oh their just good looking it's because their respectful the way their parents have taught them too sooooo cute !

  • when you see this guy mark..and the way he is, i immediately compare him to my dad..and its upsetting..because my dad doesnt show any love or emotion to me at all.

  • i don't know why marc is classed as a worlds strictest parent cause none of his rules are ott! he's so nice :)

  • If more Christians were like Mark, the world would be a much better place.

  • That guy Mark is really a true Christian.

  • glad to know there are still good decent people in this world

  • This might be the only reality show I ever liked. The parents make me want to be a better Christian.

  • if there was a dad of the year award, mark would get it every year, rock on.

  • OMG... so I swore I wouldn't cry, but when Mark told Ross he'd be proud to have him as his son..... :'( Ugh why can't all Christians be like that?

  • Wow, so I was really nervous about putting a gay boy in a family like this, but they are absolutely amazing!

  • Praise you Jesus - this is what its about, showing people Christ.... I pray for them both. What a great guy Mark was..

  • i can see Jesus in Mark!

  • I wish Mark would adopt me lol.

  • I Wish I Had A Dad Like Mark :)

  • Chuck Norris takes parenting advice off Mark

  • Wow.. this segment of the show has really inspired me to become a better christian. Mark did a very good job on changing the two kids and it just shocked and enlightened me.

  • Man, these parents are awesome. Not just Christians, but everyone can view them as an example of good parenting. And Ross screams like a girl.

  • This guy is like the best father in the world anyone would have wanted.

  • wow i'd love to be the kinda parents they are

  • im glad ross is shaping up

  • This is the best episode of this show! The parents should watch the show again and again to understand that they're responsible for the kids' bad behaviour and that they should learn parenting skill from people like Mark.

  • Mark = EPIC WIN

  • Absolutely fabulous show, i have so enjoyed Ross and Naiomi's experience, the Alabama family did their level best, their hearts were in the right place..Wow, what a show I cried and was very touched...I hope more of the documentary have great results..Ross and Naiomi are great kids with great parents..I guess at times you need a break from your own folks and experience something life changing..Its usually how it works i guess..Thank you sooooo much nthelght for posting this..=)

  • i wish i had a dad like mark... truly he is the best example of a dad i have ever seen. all fathers who neglect and abandon their children need to look at him and see what a real father is. he cares so much, those kids are lucky to have such a wonderful man in their lives.

  • he didnt say i want you to delete myspace cuz it hurts you, he said Im asking you to take the people away who hurt you, thats deep man.

  • This is what I want to be like if I want to be a parent. Being strict and having dicipline works best. Always.

  • I am not religious whatsoever, but Mark is awesome!

  • I wish I had a dad like that.

  • Mark is such an amazing Christian man. Warmed my heart for real!

  • yeah thats a great dad, you can see that he REALLY cares.

  • aw this family's so lovely

  • I wish I lived in that family, what a privilege it would be.

  • One thing i like about the Mark is that he open up to you, like he would actually sit down and talk personally to you.

  • Mark focuses on being Christ-like and not some hypocrite Christian.

  • Thanks for posting this was a brilliant watch

  • Now you know what a true man of God is like, mark is a great living example of a Godly and holy man, reflects the goodness and beauty of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.

When mark gave them their last words of encouragement and they broke to tears, it really touched me, this is a great proof that Christians can truly bring up good man and women that will contribute to society and the country. Praise God!!!

  • But, even some Christians go astray, don't they?

However, Mark is a wonderful human bieng<3

  • I agree. I never had this as a child and teenager. My home was so dysfunctional. Really wish I had a dad like that :)

  • wow, to be honest....did think "this femi lguy with a emo cut in a very christian family" will be good entertainment like most other but this man named mark.......wish I met a mann like him one day

  • What an amazing family. Growing up in Alabama was stifling for me in similar ways; and the laws are often ridiculous. However, I was lucky enough to have an amazing father like Mark. Respect and trust are of the utmost importance and I am so glad that they seemed to have learned from it... you can't expect to change a child's whole value system week... but I really think they will move on to better lives because of this family's influence. :)

    Roll Tide!

  • Mark's family is good family, They didn't force their religous views upon the kids.

Mark is a good role model for all dad's on earth , he is a religious Christian he treated Ross very well, even though Ross is a gay.

Thanks for posting the programme, thanks Mark showing the world who a good dad is...

  • @bindurajk yeah at first I thought he would chew him out from being a homosexual but he was cool abou it

  • mark is a smart, genuine, and extremely reasonable man.

  • The World's Strictest Parents? Hardly.

Reasonable Parents would be more appropriate.

  • i do not share the same religion as this family, and i do not agree with some of their points and parenting rules, but i feel a deep respect for them, and if they told me something, and tell me why, i can understand and accept whatever it is, be it a compliment, or criticism, or punishment.

  • at times i still feel these parents are really stirct and way over the top, but when you really think about it, they make rock solid points, and good reason for it all. Mark is a very loving and sincere father, successful, easy to approach, has all the qualities required of a religious man. he doesn't yell and tries his best not to lose his temper, and that's good, for retaliation often escalates the issue rather than suppress it. how can you continue getting mad when he's not mad at you ?

  • The father is an amazing parent and person. Even though he's Christian, he doesn't condemn nor criticise Ross for being gay. That's commendable. Furthermore, he seems to be a really sincere person; he seemed to really care about the British teens and instilled his rules based on unconditional love and legit reasons instead of instilling them for the sheer sake of having strict rules.

  • @sevenmadeleine I agree with you, but I don't think that the father behaves in the way he does "even though he's Christian."

I think that the reason that Mark is so effective IS because his Christian faith demands it. Condemnation (especially toward unbelievers) degenerates the basic Christian message of unconditional love... It would be un-Christian in that context to condemn Ross based on his sexual preference.

  • @coleebarley Thanks for this post coleebarley, you've got the point that i hadn't seen until now that Mark is fantastic as a father and person because of his Christian faith

  • I have so much RESPECT for Mark. He is a great father.

  • this father has got something rare that i dont see in other ppl hes so understanding and caring, those 3 kids are lucky to have it

  • I love that they both cry when the dad talks to them.

  • It's hard to "rise above" one's situations that they got themselves into when surrounded by "bottom feeders". These kids were looking at their peers to help lead them, and they needed to see a good example that they could look up to. This experience was the light at the end of their tunnels that they so desperately needed. Amazing

  • aw what a kind and caring dad,

you know these are model parents,

but it was SO funny when the fish jumped out of Ross's hand and he was screaming!! lol

  • Hello fish! Fish, meet Ross, Ross meet fish!

    XD

I like this guy, some of the parents are like so strict and you're just like woah, I'm glad their not my parents, but this dad is really nice and really knows how to be a good parent.

  • this program is so good. i could watch it all day.

  • me too =]

  • i know i think he really is such a great roll model and a beautiful person really wonderful father x

  • That dad is great!

  • What A Great Father

  • i wish my parence were like that :(

  • I'd actually love to be in that family. The show makes them seem very scrict in the start, but really they aren't bad at all.

  • What a marvelous dad...great parenting..It is possible because he placed his trust in God

  • Dude these were awesome. That dad turned 2 bratty kids into nice kids in just a week.thats like amazing

  • Mark is a role-model of how fathers should be. His rules are based on his love for his children and although they may seem strict, they are for the best of his children's future.

  • @iamthegreatest11111 I wish i had a Father just like Mark :)

  • I was amazed by the family in this show. I am an atheist & I have to say that makes absolutely no difference whatsoever on the way I view this.

The family values & trust instilled by the parents here are just great. I admire the father for his commitment to his children, the mother too though we perhaps didn't get to see much of her in a leading role.

It is so refreshing to see such love & trust/responsibility given to kids in an age where all of that seems to have gone &the kids are in charge

  • this episode was great. the dad was very understanding and encouraging. i think most families dont have this kind communication. i wish my family did, that way some of the errors made could have been prevented.

  • What a great tv show. The dad really understands how to live a great life and make the RIGHT decisions because when he was a young adult he made the wrong decisions and felt the full force of the consequences. When you know how bad it can get, you learn from such mistakes and be a better person from it. I can relate completely since I did the same.

  • Absolutely Amazing videos

  • I completely agree with Wbeliever7. It's refreshing to see comments from Christians which aren't criticising homosexuals or any other type of person for their differences.

  • I know. These people are exceptional. The dad should get into a field where he can work with teenagers. I am 45 and he inspired ME!!!

  • I am a Christian and my cousin is gay and we hang out alot he's no different..and my parents and him get along very well and never question him about being gay or anything. I really like this family and it makes me wanna do more in my life for God and it also makes me wanna be good parents like them when I grow up.

  • Me too. My parents split before I was born

  • i wish i had a dad.....

  • I am a Christian and seeing how these people live puts me to shame. This is probably one of the best examples of true Christianity I have ever seen,.

They have standards and rules yes but they enforce them with love and understanding. They didn't force their views upon the kids. They showed them firm love and thats how it should be.

  • Wow ..this show is really great :)

  • Finally some quality television, that can teach lessons to everyone. Isn't Mark a dream dad? Even though he gives all those annoying rules, that ultimately benefit oneselves?

Love and discipline is the key to success in what ever you do.

  • Absolutely. Mark is a great guy. I can think of so mant kids I see and know here in UK that would benefit from having such a dad in their lives. Pity most parents really sdo not give a shit and let their kids do what they like, when they like and have the motto 'Well...when they are 16 they can move out and do what they like anyway..'. It's criminal. No one cares about values any more and it's painful to see. Especially when you see that some are still capable of it like in the case here.

  • The Dad always makes me feel depressed because he cares so much for his kids and Naomi and Ross. It makes me wish how my Dad could have cared instead of always yelling at me and my Mother. I wish Naomi was my Friend because she's a really sweet girl and seems like a cool person to hang around with.

  • what a kind dad! even though those arent his kids he still loves them and helps them through tough times

  • he was very passionate with them, i am very impressed myself!!

  • Christians don't hate homosexuals and those who do are being entirely disobedient to God who commands us to love everyone. However, they don't condone his homosexual behavior and this is important to take note of.

  • @KaleyandAddi

When I saw the words "Alabama" and "Gay" I mixed them into "homophobic".

    How wrong I was!

  • @KaleyandAddi This is just simply a family displaying true Godly love. Many Christians have no idea what love is, so they can't and don't show it. It's very sad really.

I dont think theres such thing as some Christians "being accepting" while others not. What is Christianity except that the love of God enters a person's life and transforms them in such a way that they are light to others and to all? Any Christians who do the opposite don't have God's love in them and aren't really Christians.

  • @KaleyandAddi I second that.

  • Thank you so much for that, nthelght. I really enjoyed it.

  • i wish i had a dad like mark.

  • @shicknewman Me too made me cry how much he cares about his family.
