  • I'm curious as to why you carved the neck with a volute on the back? Gibson didn't start doing that till the Norlin ownership years, which are roughly 69-86

  • The song according to the description is "You Shook Me All Night Long" when it is actually "Back in Black" covered by Jackyl.

  • It might not be made by Gibson, but at least it looks like one. Gotta be hella cheaper. Can you build me an Ibanez?

  • Thats beautiful! Good work! Im envious.

  • Did you stain it?

  • thats friggin sweet XD is it as good as the real thing would you say?

  • Friggin' AWSOME!

I'm jealous. I wish I could build my own guitar.

  • AC/DC Cover By Yngwie Malmsteen

  • Nice job! Great use of jigs and templates. Guitar building presents a huge amount of problem solving and it must be very satisfying for you to see the whole thing pan out. Thats an awesome effort for year 12! Bet it sounds great. Excellent!

  • my les paul would retail for 5k

  • how does it sound?

  • Song had the sound of Bon Scott singing.Nice guitars.Thinking about buying one when they come out. They are at Gibson site for $2.799.00

  • hey i'm going to make mine but i need the body measures you know how thick, long, size of the horns and all that stuff, could you pm me with the measures please ^^

    thanks afterwards

  • Great job, realy,( from Belgium in eu) congratulations!

  • Holy fuck, that's amazing! how do you make the neck shit!

  • If it's not made by the Gibson company, then it's not a Gibson.

  • @guitarslim56 hahaha, look at this guy, being all stupid n stuff.

  • Any sound demos?

  • Why the big pickguard? For this great work you could use the smaller 61.

    Great job!

  • ACDC sucks tho.... couldnt even watch video with that playin in backround :/

  • the music sucks, you need real AC/DC. cool video though.

  • v cool

  • did you print off the template? and what woods were used? also very nice guitar i love it

  • Awesome man :) real talent

  • looks epic man and you have the pried of knowing you made it.

  • Great guitar but i think it might have looked better if u use a uppercase B in the "Benny"

  • be careful posting that here man. I'll say good job but there are a lot of people that think you should be paying gibson royalties and that I'm a "socialist" for personally hoping for the downfall of gibson because what they charge for what you get is incredibly disproportionate. but any way you did a great job and keep making them so people can buy yours and not gibson :) I can't wait for the comments from this :) lets hear em!

  • @pteradactylhippo You can make whatever you want. No copyright can tell you otherwise. However he can not sell this claiming it is a Gibson. Or claim it is built to exact Gibson specs, or for that matter even call it an SG in a sale. As long as he doesn't associate it in any way with a gibson in a sale he is breaking no laws.

  • why does everybody relates SG with Ac/DC? o.O

  • wow is looks very good, but i wonder if it sounds same

  • This is actually a very accurate looking copy.

  • it's a beaut clark, seriously though nice job, what kind of wood did you use

  • How much did it cost to make?

  • is it nitro or polly and what did you use to colur the guitar, and where'd you buy it? i am looking to make a surf green telecaster you see!

  • Damn.... what a great version of this song....For those who rocked that song we salute you.... damn...and also the masterpiece build is great.. thank u for posting both...

  • @Milestones01 This version is sang by Joe Lynn Turner

  • Very cool indeed, what's the switching on the back on the electric cover plate for?

Also who's covering AC/DC they did it well

  • So nice to see pride in the arts

  • Looks slightly off from the Gibson. The spot between the neck pickup and the neck, I mean. Still, it looks real nice. The fact that it's hand made by yourself is flippin' cool. How does it play? I'm curious to have a listen.

  • @YourFavoriteLesbo That space between the neck pickup and the neck is on all SG's

  • @Rafterman123 of this I am aware. I just said (or rather, meant) something looks off in that general area. Can't quite place my finger on what it is either, if there even IS anything wrong.

  • absolutely gorgeous guitar. where did u find the measurements?

  • from which band is the song ?

  • @55Obes ! It's from the f*ckin greatest band ever in this world ! AC/DC ! (but i think it might be a cover there..)

  • @TheRNRNation i know that this song is by acdc. i am a big fan but i want to know who played the metal version?

  • @55Obes AC/DC - Back in Black

  • Nevermind all that I want to hear you play it.

  • Badass brother most people would never attempt it!

  • My guitars better...only cause its my guitar so i like my guitar better....BUT HIS IS SICK NO DOUBT!

  • @AbusedDaily do you know Kylie?

  • I don't know which is better, the original or that cover!

  • @mulleh07 The original no doubt is better.

  • Where's the video of you playing it? :)

  • really really good

  • awesome job dude !!

  • awesome

  • That's one fine piece of craftsmanship buddy! We wonder sometimes why guitars can cost so much and then you see how much work actually goes into making one! Nice going man!

  • niiiiiiiiiiiicccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee dude!

  • How did you make the logo? Im at the part of doing so and i want to use my name on it like the gibson logo

  • thats really cool, but you are meant to have EMG 2 grade pickups, and the pickguard was too high, but still, job well done, no one will notice the pickup changes.

  • Upload a video of you playing it, so we can listen if it sounds as awesome as it looks :D

  • Awesome!!

  • THIS IS AWESOME!

  • Its not a Gibson its a Benny. It's fucking sick though! Also is that a tuner on the back plate?

  • Really impressive work..best not refer to it as a Gibson though, just incase!! P.s It`s better made than my `71 Gibson SB300 bass guitar,at least you got the neck angle correct!! :p

  • i actually own an SG and i must tell you that your headstock is a bit off, it looks a bit longer and thinner than the real thing, but good job though, i could never do that :D

  • @grofovakeva Good eye. Length is right but I was restricted to that width cos of the neck black I ordered

  • @mitchebe dont sweat it man. the differences between the plans and the final result make it your own. great job!

  • @mitchebe yeah you made the head more like malcoms gretsch :D

  • Nice, except that when you build it by yourself it's not a GIBSON sg anymore...

  • @GAMEVIDEOS007 it's way better

  • 2 questions... where did you buy the inlays on the neck and where did you buy the fret wire?

  • F***ING AWSOME, It looks like one of angus youngs gibson sg

  • hell ya

  • NICE! if you were to sell it...how much would u sell for?

  • Looks nice dude!

  • hey bro.. have to admit your guitar is very legit.. I wonder how it sounds tho.. upload a video..

  • bitchin' remix. :o

  • I like your guitar but "build a gibson sg" ...only gibson build "gibson SG's" ...your's is a benny SG ..... a lovely guitar but the title is misleading to say the least.....

  • nice brah um haey can u do a project for the viewers make an ukulle or guitar form amboyna burl

  • AC/DC!!!!!!! Well, sort of :)

  • Comment removed

  • how does it play compared to a gibson...awesome by the way

  • you should have put emgs in it... haha... i would have... lol

  • Beautiful guitar. And it probably didn't cost 2 grand like an actual Gibson.

  • Oh back in black i feel stupid

  • @mickeyguitardude ha same!

  • What song?

  • Amazing!

  • you know what i'm just going to collect money to buy one.... also nice work but why 21 frets come on put at least 22 it could be better and easier for you to play when you have 24 frets

  • That's amazing that you could do something like that. So, the headstock is a block of wood that's glued onto the neck before the whole thing is cut out? What keeps it from breaking off?? I've always wondered about that.

  • @audiotrax2000 When the glue surface is angeled like on the head stock the glue surface is quit big... So it will hold. In guitar that I made the head stock is about 17mm thick but becouse the head stock is angled the actual glue surface is about 80mm

  • stupid music !!

  • @Jimreeves20 WTF!!! IS WRONG WITH YOU!!??

  • @Juanjothebest16 simple !.. the video is okay but the fucking music is stupid that's all !

  • Awesome vid and guitar.

  • very fine looking finished product. what woods did you use and what humbuckers?

  • nice! one question...how did u get ur name to look like te gibson logo and how did u get it on?

  • wow your really good. good job bro

  • dosent the switch on the back plate get a bit annoying after a while?

  • wow - great job man ... you have a clips of you playing it ?

  • hey where did u get the stuff

to build it including the wood

  • Considering that the result is a product (unique) wich cost is (at least) 2 or 3 times the price of the original gibson (time , materials, main d´oeuvre): if there was a gibson logo on the headstock , could it be considered as a fake???or customshop???LOL

  • didnt like the back in black cover, this doesnt make me a hater. the vid was great but not the cover.

  • so you can build a gibson but can you build an epiphone?

  • please tell me that you did some radius on the freetboard and you didnt leave it flat..

  • "Gibson" is used a little lightly there.

  • The song is Back in Black Yngwie Malmsteen's cover ;)

You've made an awesome guitar :)

  • Impressive

  • can you tell me where i can get tha t awesome song..!!!

  • back in black with bon scot?????

  • 9 people are Gibson Workers

  • omg that is awsome, how long did this take and was it hard to do?

  • It's pretty bad when a cover band is better than the original

  • how did u make dat stencil i want a gibson 1

  • 6 Peoples are Strat Fans :D

  • one piece neck??

  • fuck

  • The most sexiest guitar of world

  • HE HAS LIKE 4 -5 OF THEM HE MADE AT ONCE...and is selling a couple SG' he made also thier Awesome so I know if he can build them exactly same and make a few bucks selling them for 850-900 finished gibson is makeing a killing on us all every day I bought a brand new 2009 Traditional in light burst for 2300+ change from AMS' & this 59' replica is every bit as good of a build but sounds thicker warmer and feel better so there ya go!

  • and like i said about any finish you could want bulls-eye camo, bursts correct headstocks ect.. and other than the higher end pickups EMGS or 57 Classics that are 200 - 300 bucks alone but have the guitar done and sell it for the price of a nice EPIPHONE CUSTOM OUT THE DOOR... I BOUGHT A 59 LES PAUL REPLICA FROM HIM A FEW MONTHS BACK i WATCHED HIM DO MOST THE BUILDING ROUTING SANDING ECT......MYSELF HE HAS A SMALL BUILDING / WOOD SHOP WITH ROUTERS & A CNC MACHINE 59 SCHEMATIC PAID $850 4 IT!!!!

  • I honestly see nothing wrong with buying a copy / replica ! but however I do not think anyone should get ripped off ..i mean someone buying a copy / replica / knock-off / clone or being sold one as an original !!! with that being said my best friend is a Luther or Guitar builder and can build quality replica's of any Les Paul / Les Paul Custom with ONE PIECE NECKS no scarf joints and solid flamed maple tops and real mahogany body's Real ebony fret boards with fret and nibs just like a Gib-sun

  • now that is cool!

  • where did you get the trust rod? how much was it?

  • @BritishPrideMusic It is certainly not by Yngwie. It's by AC/DC. Although Yngwie Malmsteen is a boss, AC/DC pwns all.

  • That is an awesome job, but it does not show how to make the guitar, it is just a quick video overview of the project.

  • Hey guy, nice shot =D.

People, im 15 years old, and im learning to play guitar,

I've recorded a video which im playning the song Strutter by Kiss, can you help me?

  • was this your first time building a neck, because i want to try and build a neck, but i dont think i'll be able to do it and yours turned out buitiful

  • how did you cut the neck angle where the neck meets the body? What degree was it cut at?

  • it turned out amazing!!

  • Our band are covering this song, its awesome! Its by yngwie malmsteen i think, and you can find the tabs on songsterr :D

  • is it ok if i steal your idea :D?

  • Congratulations!!! That is amazing! How much did that cost you to build and how long did it take you? Where did you get the plans?

  • Amazing!

  • is it cheaper to spend 1,300 on one instead of making it

  • @L0V3I54GUN but think of the pride

  • If I'm not mistaken, only Gibson can "build" a Gibson SG.

  • Very cool indeed! Well done! I start ny SG project next weekend. Got the Hummers from Ormsby in WA. They got here to QLD, and now to work!

    Very, very nice work :-)

  • FANTASTIC!

  • Amazing video :)

Can u tell me, what are the little controls at the back plate for?

  • @apinakapinastorba The switch is for single and dual humbuckers and the leds are a built in tuner

  • @mitchebe built in tuner is very smart :) nice work dude!

  • why build this when you can buy it?

  • could you write me a full guide on how i could make one?!?!? this is just outstanding!

  • the question is, will it blend?

  • i'll stick to my grecos from Japan there awesome i have an all black and cream greco/gibson copy standard that plays real well it's a 1979 my friend has the same guitar Only a real gibson and it's the same thing the Only differance is the logo mine says greco and his says gibson lol i love greco's gibsons cost too much i mean i Can afford it but i don't want to spend $3000.00 for a real One that won't play right i Don't like them new i like them well used and broken in lol

  • Did you look online somewhere for the plan for this? If so, where did you find it? I've been wanting to build my own guitar for a long time now, and that's just amazing looking!

  • whos cover is this???!

  • o.o

  • Awesome job. . thanks for sharing

  • where did you buy the stuff to make the guitar

  • @wolfsgs1 Tamborine, theres a luthier there

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!! :) TEACH ME YOUR WAYS MASTER!!!!

  • man that is huge amount of work well done

  • Really good job

  • Nice best homemade guitar I've seen yet.

  • good cover from ac/dc

  • lol rubik's cube at 1:55

  • How much does something like this cost?

  • How did you make the headstock logo thing

  • Excellent!

  • Holy motherfuckin shit! I'm just getting ready to do my first refinishing job, thinking "it's gonna be a lot of work(but fun anyway)" and here yo are being totally hardcore and building one from scratch... DAAAAAMN. Dude, seriously you're hardcore. y Jaw fuckin dropped.

  • whoa the singer sounds like bon :o

  • What's the name, of this coverband?? "o"

  • i wonder how much these guitars cost....you know homemade!! beyong the effort...if you critisize them as a stracture you know?!

  • Hoy shit this is god with pickups!

  • Thumbs up just for the good music and craftsmanship!

  • This will take me 3 years in making this Gibson SG.

Maybe this guy worked for Gibson.....

  • how long did it take?

  • Good job but why didnt you put the neck pickup right next to the neck?

  • how do you make pickup cavities?

  • That is amazing work! I am 15 and I am going to start on making an SG soon. I already have the neck, and hardware. I just need to plan out how I'm going to shape the body. What did you use to form the contours on the sides? And how did you center and align the pickup cavities and bridge? I'm going to be using a hard tailed bridge, so it's not completely like a Gibson, but it's all I have. Plus I am going to use two single coils with a tone and volume knob.

  • Wow man, that is an awesome looking axe. Nice job! I have a really ambitious idea for the SG style, I just wish I had the time, money and resources, not to mention skill that you have to make my own SG. Nice job again.

  • que musikinha filha da puta eim?

  • awesome.... and very appropriate, acdc while bulding a sg
