Yes, actually, they are quite unhealthy. On average, they shorten your life, and they make less pleasant the life that you have left. I have no idea what you're on about with the car exhaust being an "improvement," as if anyone has ever said that it was.

Also, while Quit Victoria is anti-smoking, this ad says nothing about smoking specifically, likely giving it a different meaning for different people.
