They should have used this instrumental as the intro to the Californication album. I've been thinking about it and I've decided that this would have been one of the coolest intros to an album ever. This would've totally set the tone for the rest of the album. I mean seriously imagine putting on the Californication CD and this being the first thing you heard and then Around the World. That just would've been spectacular. What were they thinking not including this on the album?

nice idea! this would sound pretty sweet at the beginning of the CD. they would have to make sure the bass guitar is mixed in nice and loud, cuz the bass is tight here too. my favorite part though is john's strumming at 1:20. just too funky.

It's a lot better than Instrumental #1 that's for sure, but not as good as Instrumental #3 (Slowly Deeply).

It seems there are enough Cali B Sides to make a whole album, and there were for By The Way too. It's ironic that on these two albums, the b sides were good enough to make both albums double albums, and yet Stadium Arcadium is a double album and it sounds like a load of b sides they would easily leave off if it was a single album.

i can definitely see why you don't. For a while i would just skip it on CD, because i felt that the song was retarded because it was writen about basketball, and i just thought it was childish. But then i just listened to it for what it was, and the bass line is cool, the guitaring is great, the drums are absolutely wonderful, i just don't care for the lyrics.

But that is definitely one that i have to go into with an open mind and not judge it because what it is about.
