It's not weird at all - my cat used to religiously eat chicken from Red Rooster to the point that he'd eat potato and gravy, coleslaw, even chocolate mousse from the place. As long as it had the 'smell' that he liked, it was all good. So yeah, if fast food is safe for humans, I would say for the most part it's fairly safe for animals.

Animal biolgoy is a fickle thing, and we still don't know it that fully, especially since with something like dogs, where mere difference of BREED has a MASSIVE effect on the difference of tolerance and what that dog can tolerate, not to mention indivudal factors (like with humans) there's no surefire way of knowing what will and won't cause problems.

And then there's the opposition to animal testing, which is how we find this stuff out at all

@TheLemonGrenade - I agree with you in some aspects, but at the same time, I'm willing to stand by what I said, possible dead pets and all. I mean, I've lived with a fair few dogs in my time as well and (random allergies aside), I've not once seen one instance to suggest that fast food is liable to do any serious damage (at least, no more than a human would suffer) - just don't feed it to them all the time.

I mean, they eat DECOMPOSING MEAT. I can't do that... can you?

Why do people freak out over feeding chocolate to dogs? I think it must be because their stomachs are not used to it and the reaction can be so bad that they might die. but this dogs dont seem to have any problems, same with my grandpas dogs, they both were fed chocolates very often since they were very young and I guess their stomachs got used to it, one lived till 14 years old the other one till 12, that's a pretty long life, and they weren't fat so I guess its about being used to it.

There is an Ice Cream made especially for dogs and its called frosty Paws by purina. You can usually find it in the frozen section with the popcicles. Wal-Mart usually has it.
