  • People were so much thinner back then.

  • A summer school teacher I had Named Mrs. Obrian had the comidor 64 version of this.

  • aaahhhhhh congo bongos!!!! thats so fun to play!!!

  • 1:36 -- Oh, and at the risk of making a somewhat obscure reference: "Watch out for snakes!"

  • This was one of Sega's lesser-known arcade games (compared to "Zaxxon"), but it was successful enough to get some console ports, mostly in Japan. Some would call this the 3D/isometric equivalent to Nintendo's "Donkey Kong".

This game can also be unlocked as a hidden game in all versions of "Sonic's Genesis Collection".

  • I also got this game as an unlockable title in "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" for my PLAYSTATION 3.

  • SO nice graphics for its time

  • How come nobody mentioned having a droid phone on here?

  • CONGO BONGO IS HARD!!

  • Ahh :] This game is in the Genesis Collection for Xbox 360. It's addictive, though the primitive attempt at isometric graphics makes it kinda hard to dodge things.

  • so before sonic ripped off mario, this guy ripped off donkey kong? ingenious.

  • Ummmmm ok...on d where in the FUCK is part 2??

  • @MrGrevy What?

  • @AdamNedeff The second goddamn part - where is it? Is Congo Bongo racist???

  • @MrGrevy The second part of WHAT? This is a collection of segments from a game show showing different arcade games they had in rotation. You seem to be under the impression that it's something else and I can't figure out what.

  • @AdamNedeff Well I'm just an angry confused person. I thought it was the first part of a show and I wanted to see the second part...umm, goddamnit!

  • ok now i see what congo bongo is the game looks like it sucks

  • Ah old school... when games were fun and not just about bloodshed.

  • @MasterFreespirit

You seem to be confused with the 8-bit/16-bit era. Anything pre-NES was really, really poor.

  • this suck's!!! why did they play it?? i won't

  • that first kid did great, the 2nd guy sucks

  • Man it's so hard to find footage of this original game / arcade version. So glad you uploaded this. All the rest are really bad Atari or C64 conversions. I like those consoles, but it's frustrating when that's all you can find when you want to see the original arcade version. I miss this show too. They replayed it on G4 before it merged with TechTV , the destruction of a great station (2 great stations) that COMCAST was responsible for.

  • Everyone sucked at this game.

  • i had Congo Bongo for the Atari 2600.....what a piece of shit

  • This was very much an angled nearly 3d version of Donkey Kong and similar games...loved it back then, and would love to play it again..

  • @DjJohnnyM68 ... you can, it's on Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection for the XBOX!

  • I have this for the 5200 & Colecovision, they look awful compared to the arcade version. I wish Sega would release emulated versions of their 80's arcade games for the PS-3, 360, & Wii

  • @gsn93 LOL

  • I remember the starcade show. I used to miss it but then someone would always post it on youtube. That was back when youtube first came out back in 1985.

  • dude!...youtube did not exist back in 1985...the internet barely even existed by the end of the decade..and then it was just a system of electronic bulletin boards (aka BBS) and it was this way at least until the mid 1990s...Youtube in 85....hahahaha..that's funny dude

  • LOL

  • I got this game on my Coleco Vision.

  • And it does not even come close to the arcade my friend! Although it is the best homeversion.
