This was one of Sega's lesser-known arcade games (compared to "Zaxxon"), but it was successful enough to get some console ports, mostly in Japan. Some would call this the 3D/isometric equivalent to Nintendo's "Donkey Kong".
This game can also be unlocked as a hidden game in all versions of "Sonic's Genesis Collection".
Ahh :] This game is in the Genesis Collection for Xbox 360. It's addictive, though the primitive attempt at isometric graphics makes it kinda hard to dodge things.
@MrGrevy The second part of WHAT? This is a collection of segments from a game show showing different arcade games they had in rotation. You seem to be under the impression that it's something else and I can't figure out what.
Man it's so hard to find footage of this original game / arcade version. So glad you uploaded this. All the rest are really bad Atari or C64 conversions. I like those consoles, but it's frustrating when that's all you can find when you want to see the original arcade version. I miss this show too. They replayed it on G4 before it merged with TechTV , the destruction of a great station (2 great stations) that COMCAST was responsible for.
I have this for the 5200 & Colecovision, they look awful compared to the arcade version. I wish Sega would release emulated versions of their 80's arcade games for the PS-3, 360, & Wii
I remember the starcade show. I used to miss it but then someone would always post it on youtube. That was back when youtube first came out back in 1985.
dude!...youtube did not exist back in 1985...the internet barely even existed by the end of the decade..and then it was just a system of electronic bulletin boards (aka BBS) and it was this way at least until the mid 1990s...Youtube in 85....hahahaha..that's funny dude
People were so much thinner back then.

You seem to be confused with the 8-bit/16-bit era. Anything pre-NES was really, really poor.
