The gameplay from this version is far better than the final product. I hated how the camera was always stuck behind Leon in RE4, the suspense was lacking due to the lack of camera angles. THis version seems to have a mixture of RE4's gameplay and the previous games. We need something like this for RE6.
@mrlimejelly It wouldn't be good for the series because it isn't supposed to be based on supernatural. It was based off fighting bio weapons and such. Changing that would be so stupid.
@april420fun The game is in a perspective of Leon's imagination and hallucinations becuase he got infected with umbrella's virus so the enemy's you see are not real but it makes the game much more scary that way, you don't know whats real or just imagination. BTW the story picks up after Code Veronica X.

That beginning section is how RE6 should play. The camera angle is more action-based than the previous games, but it's good enough to enduce fear. And the atmosphere is great, where there aren't a horde of the same enemies all the time. This is how RE4 should have been. RE4 was a great game regardless, but if they really wanted to make another Resident Evil game, this is the way to go.
in my opinion the original idea out of this seemed to respect the whole resident evil franchise. nothing unreal, kind of a mind fuck with all the ghost hallucinations caused by the virus, but at this point all seems to make sense, nothing is really out of the track since its still in the whole umbrella, virus way.
@13111996 You're not totally wrong, yet you're far from right. It is a franchise we're talking here. Innovation is good, and it is indeed needed, nobody wants to play the same game over and over with a different name.
Still, the changes made in RE games were too much. Pratically all the horror that made the franchise famous is gone, the gameplay is gone, the story is going nonsense. It just isn't RE anymore, they should name it something else.
@13111996 What i am trying to say is that "it isnt" RE anymore IMO, because as you said, it lost it's Essence. RE 4 was one hell of an TPS for the time it was released, I'll give you that, it was a very good game, but RE 5 is just... mediocre. It isnt in the level of the games released for the current generation of consoles and PC, and the story became too cheesy for my tastes, but again, its all my opinion.

This was a good road to follow, maybe with less Silent Hill's things... Capcom destroyed the original series with 4 and 5... The old story was great and realistic, with normal cops against a biotechnologic corporation, with real classic zombies and realistic enemies... The survival-horror, the enigmas, the scary musics, the story, all lost... Now we have a stupid action game with a bad fictional story and nonsense superhumans characters and enemies, a real shit... The original concept for re4 was really good. Leon getting infected with umbrella's new virus which makes leon hallucinate was a good idea for a story.
It looks way scarier than what we actually got but ghosts would ruin the series. On the other hand the series is already ruined so we at least would have gotten a solid game if this version had been released.
if nothing else, they should have done at least the spin-off. I totally agree, its so much better then resident evil 4 and 5..I mean it has that atmosphere, where you feel unsafe..really thick , hard atmosphere ..true horror..though it looks like a silent hill..maybe few changes here and there...but all in all..the game is perfect....damn it capcom

@LadyTutorial totally agree, the Zombies, puzzles, dark and scary areas were the tastiest part of REV. New games (4;5) are very good especially the characters and video quality, but it makes no more sense. Capcom is great at ruining their own franchises, Just look at what they did to Dante in new DMC. they should take their "new" looking Chris/Jill and Leon/Clair and put them into some new horror city WITH ZOMBIES. Degeneration was WOW though, cant wait tosee the sequel, Chris'll be in it!!!
@LadyTutorial I know that your comment is two months old but they actually were toying with the idea of putting in an actual ghost along with whatever Leon was seeing (a la the blue) so us the players would have been constantly guessing what was real and what wasn't to screw with our heads. I think it would have been a wonderful new direction for the franchise, nothing TOO different but different enough to open players' minds to gradual changes down the line.
@LadyTutorial How long do you think they should drag that out though? It would be lame to see them use Raccoon City over and over and over again, it's even lame to see them do it in this Operation: Raccoon City. They were going in a good direction for RE4 but after the creator left everything went downhill. I personally want to see the storyline expand to something new, refreshing. This was just a good idea, I do like the atmosphere and that's something I wish they'd work on for newer titles.

RE4 was awesome, it was a great direction for capcom to go in. The atmosphere was scary, the gameplay was intense, and the game overall was great. The only thing this looks like it has over RE4 is atmosphere.. and RE5 probably would've been great too if Mikami didn't have to leave . His departure is more or less the downfall of the series ..

It's simple, RE is'nt a Survival Horror, he is now a TPS (Third Person Shooter).

The 4 and 5 are not RE, they are only a standardization of what the mass needs today, all action based videogames with shootings, worthless games without soul, nothing more... Where are the atmosphere, the enigmas, the zombies, the unforgettable soundtracks, the intriguing storyline, the realistic characters, the old scary camera angles? Capcom destroyed the real essence of the old masterpieces...

Uma pena terem cancelado esse game, graficos espetaculares, o bom e velho medo de andar pelos corredores, algumas surpresas no cenario, a camera não seguiria o estilo em cima do ombro o tempo todo, só ficando quando fosse atirar, bem estilo resident evil, não o que vimos no re4 lançado e nem no re5... The original concept for re4 was really good. Leon getting infected with umbrella's new virus which makes leon hallucinate was a good idea for a story.

I totally agree, its so much better then resident evil 4 and 5..I mean it has that atmosphere, where you feel unsafe..really thick , hard atmosphere ..true horror..though it looks like a silent hill..maybe few changes here and there...but all in all..the game is perfect....damn it capcom

Capcom sucks..for real.. I mean why the hell did they change the orginal concept of the game in 4 & 5 ? There was nothing bad about it.. and because and ONLY of the survival-horror element they gain so much popularity.
The only chance for Resident Evil is going back to roots! Not some ghost and las plagas shit.
If Resident Evil 6 will not have zombies\racoon city or something else from the old games in it, the whole franchise will die forever...

@LadyTutorial dude, RE4 is the best selling RE of all time, only surpassed by RE5,so if anything in terms of sales it's better now than it ever was with racoon city and zombies, there's no way in hell the series will die if they don't go back to the roots (this is not sonic) it may die for you but i don't think they care about old school fans, they just want the money
personally i like RE4 and 5, i just wish they had some real zombies on them not just some crazy people

@LadyTutorial totally agree, the Zombies, puzzles, dark and scary areas were the tastiest part of REV. New games (4;5) are very good especially the characters and video quality, but it makes no more sense. Capcom is great at ruining their own franchises, Just look at what they did to Dante in new DMC. they should take their "new" looking Chris/Jill and Leon/Clair and put them into some new horror city WITH ZOMBIES. Degeneration was WOW though, cant wait tosee the sequel, Chris'll be in it!!!

@LadyTutorial I know that your comment is two months old but they actually were toying with the idea of putting in an actual ghost along with whatever Leon was seeing (a la the blue) so us the players would have been constantly guessing what was real and what wasn't to screw with our heads. I think it would have been a wonderful new direction for the franchise, nothing TOO different but different enough to open players' minds to gradual changes down the line.

It would be lame to see them use Raccoon City over and over and over again, it's even lame to see them do it in this Operation: Raccoon City. They were going in a good direction for RE4 but after the creator left everything went downhill. I personally want to see the storyline expand to something new, refreshing. This was just a good idea, I do like the atmosphere and that's something I wish they'd work on for newer titles.

RE4 was awesome, it was a great direction for capcom to go in. The atmosphere was scary, the gameplay was intense, and the game overall was great. The only thing this looks like it has over RE4 is atmosphere.. and RE5 probably would've been great too if Mikami didn't have to leave . His departure is more or less the downfall of the series ..

ese juego lo cancelaron porque capcom recibio demandas de que era parecido a sillent hill , ya que no habian zombies , habian fantasmas , si no hubiera habido demanda quiza ahora en resident evil 5 estariamos buscando fantasmas , pero en vez de este resident evil , salio el resident evil 4 , si hasta leon en este gameplay tiene los mismo quejidos de cuando le hacen daño que en el resident evil 4 y la mansion en la que esta se parece mucho a la de salazar
