  • They had to end this Man from uncle cos they found a cure for Thrush

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Airwolf

  • Ian Fleming's 007 first appeared in 1953 in novel form. SPECTRE first appeared in the novel THUNDERBALL. SPECTRE was just a small band of criminals working for an unnamed 'Asian government'. Blofeld's group was bush league until Dr. Julius No, a former Tong member, joined SPECTRE by investing the money he stole from the Tong. Essentially, SPECTRE worked for Dr. No's money. The MAN FROM UNCLE series was originally named 'Ian Fleming's Solo'. THRUSH was introduced in 'The Vulcan Affair' in 1964.

    for more intel.

  • S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and its founder Dr. No were destroyed by British intelligence agents (specifically agent 007). The scattered elements of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. reformed around the one section able to communicate with all the others. That section became the new organization T.H.R.U.S.H. which employed a mobile super computer that controls satrapies worldwide. After the destruction of U.N.C.L.E. and channel 'D', a secret group within T.H.R.U.S.H. called T.H.R.U.S.H. CENTRAL assumed control.

  • @JustinSepheren wait a minute first:man from uncle was before 007 so it means that trush was reformed into spectre not vice versa and second:i think that blofeld is founder of spectre not dr. no

  • @1234dragonsky Fleming's "Casino Royale" was one on the TV movie show "Climax" back in 1954. So Bond does predate the UNCLE agents by about a decade or so if we are talking about TV. As far as Flemings Bond character, at least 10 of the novels that the movies were based on were written from 1953 to 1963, Such as Moonracker, Live and let die, From Russia with Love, Diamonds are forever, Goldfinger, For your eyes only, all written in the 1950's. the others in the very early 60's

  • Robert Vaughn ran for congress in California on an anti-war platform in the late 60s... Now he IS in his late 60s and still to be respected. The Man From U,N.C.L.E (united network command for law enforcement...) was one of my favorites at the time it was on but in retrospect, I did not realize how 'avengers-like' it was with the campy studio sets and all. At the time I must have been in suspension of disbelief. I thought they really filmed on the Riviera etc.

  • Albert Stroller..Hustle.....Robert is still a smooth operator

  • T.H.R.U.S.H. owns the company that makes those Omega-3 pills. For a complete list of evil organizations, click my name and 'let's get villainous'.

  • @JustinSepheren By any chance, does the name S.P.E.C.T.R.E. turn up on that list? ;)

  • Vaughn lives not far from me in CT and he's been doing TV commercials for a local law firm that specializes in injury lawsuits. Far more cheesy than this ad above. Eventually I will get around to posting some I've recorded.

  • what is old?.. just a state of mind.. you can be young inside forever.

  • A nice and interesting clip - ruined by the inane commentary of its poster. Ho hum.

  • He looks pretty good for a man pushing 80. We should all be so lucky to look like that when we get to be old farts.

  • @chuckbuckbobuck You should see him in the BBC comedy drama "Hustle" he is the best thing in it,makes the guys 40+ years younger than him look like amatures :)

  • @2manynegativewaves" Hustle"... a comedy? Who knew? I'll give anything a chance if RV's in it!

  • Cool.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I doubt there is anyone posting here who can afford to criticize Robert Vaughn. He's done pretty well for himself.

  • Well, he is right about the omega-3's. And it's better than those William Gee ads.

    Love him anyway!

  • Sad. How to fall into the gutter.

And please - NO BEN S. IN ANYTHING!

  • They should remake it. Leo G carroll was old when he played Waverly in the 60's. Robert could play that role now in the remake. I can see Matt Damon as Solo and Owen Wilson as Kuryakin. But please not Ben Stiller as Solo no matter how tempting it may be.

  • @wiltner - No way, not MATT DAMON! (didn't you see Team America - World Police?) Vaughn as Waverly, yes! I could see Ben Affleck as Solo. Kuryakin needs to be a foreigner, someone who can pull of the accent passably, not Wilson. Perhaps German actor Til Schweiger?

  • "Tell the insurance companies you mean buissness" Dose this mean that if they don't listen that bob's gonna go over their and kick some booty?

I wonder how many law firms he pimps for?

  • He also does commercials for a legal firm! Ambulance chasers I think. I still love him. This is pretty funny really, heck the guy has to make a few buck now & then. I wish he'd do more acting!

  • Clever and Fun, timed perfectly!

  • Um...Omega3s are important in the diet even if you are not old--not only for the heart but for the brain as well--they will help getting older suck a lot less.

Now Vaughn's ubiquitous ads for personal injury lawyers...that might go in the category of "it sucks to need money that badly". :-) I do admit that I like seeing him say in them "Tell them YOU MEAN BUSINESS!".

  • Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of! Make them holler UNCLE hee hee. He's still handsome too! I think he was like my first crush, or was it Mickey Dolenz?!!

  • You'll all be old, too, before you know it. Your time is coming, then you won't be laughing. Punks like you will be laughing at YOU.

  • Well said mate !

  • Oh heck, the punks will be even worse by that time! Yes cosmic justice always prevails. Just wait until everything hurts, kiddos !! You'll be sorry then.

I'm surprised there are not comments here about that other important muscle, which half the population possesses. heehee

  • HHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I wish they had more commercials like this! It really gets your attention as the themes were embedded in your brain from your childhood. What's wrong wwith it?

  • There are worse things than growing old. Growing stupid, for instance.

  • LMAO!! Too old to laugh this hard, but growing old isn't so bad! I'm diggin' it, being Granny of three lovelies.

  • great! is there any truth to the rumor that we all will be as old as Napoleon some day?

  • Somehow, I have this nagging suspicion that Napoleon Solo would disagree about the heart being "the most important muscle." (Great intro fonts, by the way; really fun presentation.)

  • la mejor serie de los 60 , no me perdia ni un capítulo . excelente

  • Ahh!But Robert Vaughn in the VIDEO was AFTER he took the Old People's Stuff! So it DOES work!Hee!Hee!

  • Well...he is the sole survivor of "The Magnificent Seven" ,so perhaps he has a point !!!

  • Rewatch Magnificent Seven. Robert Vaughn die in the final battle.

  • I think it's as in the sole surviving actor.

  • That hurt.

  • man that really sucked

  • Vaughn might be doing ads for "old people' stuff" in North America, but in the UK he's one of the leads in the great caper comedy series Hustle, and he's still got what it takes. (Quite remarkable that both he and David McCallum, 40 years after UNCLE, are still involved in hit TV series.)

  • This reminds me of a couple of lines of "inside joke" dialogue from NCIS:

Kate: What did Ducky look like when he was young?

Gibbs: Kind of like Illya Kuryakin.

  • The black and white opening titles.. brilliant!

  • LOL! Love the title 'The Getting Old Sucks Affair'. Heee heeeeeee!

  • Look alikes: Robert Vaughn and former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney

  • getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative

  • lol

  • @CrowTRobot5 damn right
