Dhul Qarnain was not Alexander the great. There is no proof anywhere for that. In the Quran 'Qarn' is mentioned to describe 'Age' and not 'horn'. Dhul Qarnain lived for 2 ages so thats why he was called Dhul Qarnain (Qarn being one Age and Qarnain being two ages), Alexander used to have 2 horns on his helmet and thats where the confusion comes from. Also! Why doesn't anyone else see that the Muslims of the past first lived in parts of the world where the year was the same all 365 days? But! With modern technology we can move to more northern and southern parts of the earth, thus we see days get shorter and longer. At the extreme poles, a day is a WHOLE YEAR. Thus, the variance of time is already like that of a day being a year. And the Quran says that we should use the moon to measure time, so why does anyone think Allah will change that?

This is why so many Quran commentaries are wrong today. There is obvious misguidance in the maulvi or whoever who writes a commentary and then cites Alexander the Great as Dhul Qurnayn, whom Allah was pleased with. That'll be the day! Don't any Muslims study history? He was a homosexual! Last time I checked, the Holy Quran mentioned Lot (as) hating homosexuality, and obviously Allah does. Why would Allah favor such a person as being close to Him? Think and reflect!

I think Alexander (not the Great) can only be cited as Dhulqurnain (a Christian fabrication) by the so called modern "Muslim" scholars like Javed Ahmed Ghamdi (a munkir-e-Hadith, 2nd coming of Isa (AH), Mahdi (AH) and even fabricate Qura'anic references), deputed by his masters to mislead the innocent Muslims.
