I didn't keep a close accounting but I am imagining somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000. The windows and doors were scrounged but the lumber was new for the most part. Labor of course is not calculated into this.

the 4X11 porch on my cabin sees more use than my whole cabin too... maybe i'll go out to the woods and just build a porch someday

how do you vent a small rea like the cabin when you run the fire ? just open a window? or what?

Yes,. That has been a concern but you'll notice that the loft has windows on either side, in the back and clerestory, so there is pretty good ventriculation.

@upussey I have seen the American concept of placing a vent in the floor in front of the fire, connected to a duct if needed and they draw the fresh air ( from outside) for the fire this way. Your probably know more about this anyway.You made the cabin so well I was just a little worried about air quality. thanks for the reply

It is tiny. The interior floor is 96' w a 6'x8' loft. The whole project started w a curiosity about what one could do w 3 sheets of plywood. The deck, 8'x8', really sees the most use.
