From 1988 to 1992 I was able to spend most weekends in Cherokee,NC and most of them was with the Calhoun Family, it was a true honor to know them and to learn the old Cherokee customs first hand, I learned the true meaning of Respect my Elders, I truely have fond memories of those times not so long ago, and cherish the moments I shared with the Calhoun family. My prayers are with Walker and his family now.
Do you know the words that are being said? I would love to teach my children this and many other songs of the past. Since our family was separated from the tribe so many decades ago we are trying to get our heritage back to where it belongs.

Walker is now in his 90's and a living legend.
Honor him by learning this song and singing it.
He keeps it living.

@tsasuyeda To My memory I thought Walker died about 10 years ago. I went to visit him in 1996 or 97. I was told he died 3 year later.
