That was a transitional period where interstate clubs were able to take advantages that Vic clubs slept on, these have since been bridged. Imagine Adelaide had 8 teams and Port Augusta had one, or likewise Perth and some shithole. Though I don't mind when an interstate club wins a flag cos we dont have to hear about it from their sleepy hollows.
