  • 57-year old sprinting with Vibrams? This man is a boss.

  • I love your lifestyle, I am 12 and I follow it.

  • I need help with flat feet, can i get the working at better function atleast ???

  • just did this .....awesome !! definitely going to be part of my primal routine ..once again Mark , you've come up with the goods !! MUCH RESPECT !!

  • I love the microphone on the beach ! great workout!

  • As an asthmatic, i need to exercise indoors. The weight training Mark talks about shouldn't be a problem for me.. but sprinting...? Does anyone know if maxing out on a treadmill is a good idea. My knees are okay for the most part. Should i try moving to a stationary bike to do the short sprints? OR just any advice??

  • I think everyone should at least try cutting out grains from their diet for a month...I think you'll be amazed at how great you feel.

  • i so wanna look like him when i reach his age...

  • @Alive4Metal - I so want my husband to look like him at his age! I wouldn't mind if he got started now, either...

  • Love that stretch! That feels better than any other stretch I have tried. Gonna do this one a lot.

  • @chidori406 Are you joking? This was a study done by a BRITISH doctor who was in Chinese FARM land, and you're whining about factories and rice? Are you completely devoid of intelligence? A noted connection has been made and can be supported that grains should be limited in a human diet if possible to do. Your badly spelled, all-caps whining somehow negates that, no doubt.

I'm finished here. You obviously just aren't interested in any new scary ideas. Oh no, better pop out the all caps!

  • @chidori406 Turn off your all-caps, numbnuts.

Humanity has not evolved to eat grains. We CAN eat grains because we're omnivores, we CAN eat almost anything, but that does not mean "anything" is our natural diet. We evolved to eat roots, the occassionnal wild fruit, and a 20% meat quotient to the 80% gathered. What you find "sad" hardly changes this fact.

And why are you whining about being an old man with 2 years to live? How is that even relevant to the comment?

  • @DeadlyChinchilla so how is not eating grains gonna change our lives??

  • @chidori406 The same way not eating dairy when you're lactose intolerant does. It makes you feel healthier because it stops draining your internal physical resources in order to digest food that is more difficult for the body to tolerate.

In a farming town in China they had a flour shortage (no breads/baking) & the doctor there noted a VAST increase in vitality from many had-been-mysteriously-ill children he treated. Flour returned months later, and so did the chronic mystery child illness.

  • @DeadlyChinchilla "The china study" proves an extremely strong correlation between eating wheat and getting cancer. Actually the strongest correlation of cancer with any food.

  • @chidori406 Its hardly a theory. Corn and grains are NOT part of the natural human diet, and partially cause some of our chronic maladies when it makes up too much of our daily diet. We use corn for everything, corn syrup is even in baby formula. Its being linked in new studies to increases in allergies. Flour, bread, grains, corn, these are good things, but NOT in excess. Think hunter-gatherer, how we evolved. Did we have corn for those 200,000 years? No, we had roots, fruits, and meat.

  • I've heard those shoes are awesome, but they look terrible... lol! I could only wear them if they weren't a ridiculous color... otherwise, thanks for the idea on sprinting.

  • nice! as a sprinter, might i suggest keeping your arms a bit looser? besides that you're in great shape

  • I really like your program but I think you as so many others are way off the mark with their NEED for "stretching"! I really doubt that Grok and his peers would jump down from their safety nest after sprinting to safety or after they chased down a kill and think "now I need to stretch out"? Think about it? Has anyone seen a wild animal or domestic animal go thru the gyrations that humans do before or after they have done some exercise or strenous activity?

  • @docbay0249 Grok would not have 'streched' out from his safety net after they chased down a kill, BUT Mark is saying that when they were resting or sitting, since they didn't have seats and stools like us, that they would have sat the way he showed us. The way he was sitting is in itself a 'stretch'. There you go.

  • I want those shoes

  • @musicindiefan0 They won't do any wonders if you don't have the motivation.

  • @musicindiefan0 I own the KSO Vibrams and love them.

  • @neolestat13 we all know youre a dumbass now

  • Where'd he get the yellow vibrams?!

  • I always see him talking after doing my p90x workouts but never knew he was this fit

  • Isnt that useless to use shoes on a beach? even with vibram shoes? where is the sense to use them on a beach? i always run without shoes on the beach in the summer, and there is nothing bad with it

  • @Skaldicgoth

always a risk of something sharp that could lead to an injury,

better safe than sorry yeah? :P

  • This guy is a beast!!!!! He did what I used to do when I was a competitive sprinter back in the day. We worked a hell of a lot on explosive starts and running up the hills of San Francisco. But mostly it was beach training EXACTLY as what this guy is doing, except we did it with shoes, sometimes with boots. We looked funny but damn did we get fast.

  • ripped

  • That stretch is the natural state of humans. We were made to squat.

  • dude is in better shape than most 20 year olds

  • @ahhmyeye i'm 21 and he's in much better shape than me! You're totally right.

  • @ahhmyeye Nope! Than most people is more correct!

  • He's like the male version of the "bowflex grandma".

My brother sits like that, although why we have no idea since we have plenty of chairs and couches. He'll sit in a chair like that too.

  • wow are you really 50 years old? What is your workout like? you look amazing

  • help increase your speed in any sprinting event. Tips, workouts, dieting, technique, and more all at sprinterfitness(.)us

  • Mark, how do you measure output?

  • That strech is awesome.

  • oh wow how original run on the beach then squat and take a dump. sound like a nice guy but slow as fuck. my 8 yr old sister is faster

  • you don't need weird shoes - run barefoot.

  • They protect your feet from whatever debris you might run into.

  • Mark is on the cutting edge. He did this video a while back and everyone is running in the fivefingers now.

  • ur problem is your stretching the wrong muscles!

you need to be stretching the muscles that are working the most which are the gastrocnemus and the hamstrings, that stretch only stretches the quads which are only used in the relaxation period of the run.

  • Your problem is this guy is actually DOING something good and you're sitting on your ass talking shit.

  • i play pro bball in england i just dont want ppl gting injured

  • Are we on a dude ranch? Dude?

  • I'm doing the IPS right now.

  • In addition to closing your knee joint the hamstrings also act to open the hinge of your hip past 180 degrees, so when he pivots his pelvis forward in relation to his thigh he stretches his hamstrings. This is similar to when you're on your back and bring your knee toward your chest - stretching our hamstring.

  • I'm in san diego, I run on the beach barefoot quite often

  • COOOOLL!!!!

  • you're in good shape man,

but i can so beat you in a race.

  • wow this dude has the type of body I want! I'm gona check out this website, pronto!

  • This guy is awesome - I love his philsophy on nutrition - its really what I did to get into shape.

  • "I do once weekly sprints on the beach barefoot. First what I'll do is put on my shoes."

Vibrams are not barefoot, no matter how close to barefoot they are.

  • lol

  • Actually, that could be a very helpful visualization to make sprinting more fun- running from T2000, ravenous velociraptor, tsunami, low-flying biplane, etc. :)

  • LMAO he rlly does look like the terminator while he is running!

  • lol thats the best advice i got out of this video

  • Whaaaaaa?

  • lean, lean, lean! So few people are actually lean these days!

  • how old is this guy?

  • that stretch seems useful, but it really looks like hes forcing out a tootsie roll right there on the beach

  • I found you looking for quinoa recipes.

    You look 25 years old.

From your voice I presume you're closer to middle age?! :)

Those shoes look just right for running on the beach.Where can one buy them?

    Thanks for posting!

  • I think the guy in the video is 54

  • "Flat footed people are not supposed to train to be sprinters. It is called LOGIC"

Just a small not on this comment i know ALOT of flat foot ppl who train sprinting me and my brother did it for a few years hitting the low 10's did bring alot of injury but can be done -_-

  • Looks pretty cool I've gotta' try that, relax your hands while sprinting though.

  • what if you have flat feet? would you still recommend doing it barefoot style?

  • oh my god, he is such a DILF!

  • haha thats funny stuff, :)

  • Running with bare feet can strengthen your arches even if you have flat feet. They'll probably hurt for a while though

  • There are ways of strengthening your feet by going barefoot that can help your flat feet, but starting slow would be a good idea...
