  • i wouldnt say its really "fair" but it is a goal. the puck was never covered by the goalie, nor was it stuck under his pad the puck is still in play. even though his pad was pushed into the puck, the puck was never in his control so should not be waved off as the player pushed the goalie into the net with the puck.

  • lol everything the Ducks do is 'questionable'.

  • good goal, and that type of goal is known as a shovel goal.

  • LMFAO 0:38 0:39

  • Good goal

  • LOL, questionable??? Cry me a river.

  • what about hossa in game 3, that was a goal

  • Exactly ColdmanN5. No problem from me. Only fans of the Anaheim Fucks and other idiots (Maple Laugh fans) would make a big deal about this.

  • I think if you argue that it's incidental, you say that Getzlaf was pushing Cleary to the ice, so you can't prove that Cleary was pushing Hiller's leg. But the Ducks got a break earlier in the series.

  • ya hiller knocks it in with his pad it is a clean goal

  • but Clearys stick is pushing hillers leg, look closer.

  • Doesn't matter.

  • I suppose if you're a goaltender covering a puck,i can just shove your entire body into the net with my stick right? My guess is you know better, but you're a detroit fan which means you think the officials should side with you every time and you cry about it whenever they don't. That was NOT incidental contact. It's quite planned actually.

Youre right though, it doesn't matter because everything turned out ok in the end. The Stanley Cup is where it belongs this year.

  • Man you're all over the place with these comments! You're crazy. The Stanley Cup playoffs has been over for a week now man. It will be up for grabs again next year just like it is every year. Bro, find a hobby.

  • Detroit is notorious for complaining about the officials. Sorry guys, but fans from every where else pretty much agree. Again, it doesn't really matter at this point because everything turned out great in the end. I'm going to go find a hobby now.

  • And apparently you're selectively blind, because the replay CONCLUSIVELY shows at 0:37 that Hiller NEVER had the puck covered.

Please explain to me in what manner he ever had the puck covered.

On what are you basing your assertion that Detroit fans "suck"? Fans EVERYWHERE stand up, raise their arms and boo when they feel that a penalty call on the other team was missed. Are you actually being serious with this comment?

  • Youre not listening. You know this wasn't a goal. I'm done with you.

  • Not listening? I responded directly to the main point in your post.

"You know this wasn't a goal" has been your only argument. Nothing about the location of the puck. Nothing about the rulebook. Only "you're wrong and you know it", which isn't true.

  • Learn the rules. Hockey for dummies is available and I believe it's been updated for people just learning the game...

It was a good goal bottom line....

  • its REAL simple. puck wasn't frozen, GOAL

  • @jloser.

Hey Jloser how can you "hear" letters. It's read you dumb Anaheim Fuck. And yes it was 100% fair goal. And I was LONG done with you after owning your @ss.

  • @MrRebuttal Jrose has been cruising around the various videos on this event; he provides all sorts of baseless arguments, then resorts to insults once people point out that his arguments have no ground to stand on.

  • Funny, coming from an anaheim fan.

  • 100% legal goal. Hiller DOESN'T have full control. You can claerly see that the puck is loose and then Hillier knocks it in when he puts his pad back (with some help from Cleary of course). I really don't see what the big deal is. I've seen several more questionable goals than this. Especially from the Anaheim Ducks themselves. Check out the game 5 2007 goal they scored against the Vancouver Canucks. The 1st goal scored they practically assaulted Luongo until the puck went in. Go check it out.

  • Dude, you just admitted this isnt a goal!!! ('with some help from cleary'), dude that's INTERFERENCE!! you know that you cant push the goaltenders leg into the net with your stick right?

  • cry me a river.

  • Honestly Detriot Fans, I dont think you realize but the whole league looks how disgusting you people are and just flat out classless bunch of clowns. Disgrace to Hockey...>Detriot

  • You're ridiculous. You want to talk about denial? You're bathing in it. Detroit is a team with poise, grace, and maturity.

Which I'm pretty sure are all the things necessary for a CLASSY team...unlike the one you're rooting for.

  • Whenever you watch a game on TV at Joe Louis arena, there's always fans standing up with their hands in the air crying about not getting a whistle when whatever just happened was completely legitimate. Detroit fans whine and complain about officials constantly and in most cases, the refs are doing good for them. If you ask me, this whole Clearly non-goal means that Detroit never even deserved to face Chicago. The team may have poise, grace and maturity, but the point was that the fans suck.

  • Hey dude. The series could've been over when the refs disallowed Hossa's perfectly fine goal. So whether or not this one was allowed or wasn't, Anaheim got knocked out in round two and Detroit in round 4. Get over yourself. The fans don't suck at all. In every city where professional hockey teams play, there's always fans that bitch. Too bad that is just a small fraction of all of Detroit's fans. So get over yourself.

  • And we should care what a Poultry fan says because...? Your fanbase isn't exactly the definition of class either, buddy.

  • Funny, coming from a Ducks fan.

Also, way to stoop to insulting the city.

  • Lol his stick pushed the goalies leg back! LOL WOW BULLSHIT CALL. Typical NHL though

  • interference??

  • Nope.

  • i think so. the way clearly is hacking at his pad and practically pushing it in there's no way in hell any goalie could stop that

  • For all you Anaheim Fuc errrr Ducks fans (lol) who want to bitch about the Cleary goal please do us all a favor and STFU!!!

Why? Because if anyone gets away with sh*t it's the Ducks.

Remember the HOSSA GOAL "NO GOAL"!?! HOW ABOUT THE PRONGER CROSS CHECK ERRRRR DETROIT PENALTY that helped the ducks get back in the game on the pp? You know the one where Chris Pronger knocked the Wings player into Hillier and the refs gave the Wings player the penalty. PAYBACK IS A BITCH EH ANAHEIM (LOL)!

  • the redwings also had a another goal called off, ur third goal, someone interfered with hiller which directly lead to the goal, a pretty obvious call, and a no call. instead of it being 2-1 redwings with the ducks having a powerplay with 3 min left. it was 3-1 redwings and game over

  • 69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks - In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

  • Amen to that brother. Good goal, and as anyone can see by the rule you have just stated, a clean goal as well.

  • what? are u fucking retard, how is cleary's contact incidental.

  • This was NOT incidental contact. Pushing the Goaltenders leg is NOT incidental....is any one paying any attention?

  • The puck wasn't covered. That rule applies on a COVERED puck. Cleary made contact with THE PUCK. Therfor it is a good goal.

  • Clearys stick never touched the puck dude. At no point in this video can you see Clearys stick touch the puck...because it didn't. He may as well have kicked it in.

Doesn't matter. Everything worked out in the end, the cup is where it belongs.

  • Just getting there goal that got robbed earlier in the series

  • EXACTLY! This series should've been over at about game 5. Due to some dirty Anaheim players and idiotic refs, the Ducks were able to hang on...

But now we all see who truly is the better team.

    GO WINGS!

  • it should be no goal if you watch cleary pushes hillers leg which pushes the puck

other than this many many many no calls against the wings bs game bs sereis should have been the ducks.

refs were playing for the redwings.

  • DID YOU EVEN FUCKING WATCH THE GAMES! are you being serious! how many fucking times did we get shitty calls against us, & the ducks were a dirty ass team who got away with WAY TO MUCH SHIT! you seriously must be blind! what did you think about the shitty call watson pulled on our goal, you probably thought it was fair, because your an ass who is a ducks fan! THIS IS A FAIR GOAL! get over it! ducks are fucking tools who wanted to fight after every whistle.

THANKS! from a fan who was at the game

  • It's called payback for the "no goal" Detroit got robbed on earlier in the series. Should not have even gone 7 games.

  • are you serious? hiller never had control at all

  • They dont know Fuck about hockey its not questinable it i sa fair goal

  • Questionable? What question? What an asinine question. Who even question this but a bunch of whiners. In what respect should this goal not have counted? The puck wasn't frozen, wasn't under his pad. By rule there's no question. The replay reviewed it and it came back in like 10 seconds. The announcers couldn't even figure out why Hiller was whining, they didn't see it. The only people that thought this was questionable were whiners that needed an excuse about why they lost.

  • Notice the team that did the most bitching about calls and no calls ( Aka the Ducks ) lost the series... When wings had blown calls for them they basically said shit happens and kept playing... and that my friends makes a real hockey team... Salin is a pussy; just throwing that out there.

  • There is no question, if it was, it's a stupid ignorant question by only dumbfucks who don't know hockey.

  • Im only ticked that it wasnt a total bullshit goal so that ANA would really know how it feels.

  • Where do you get that this is even questionable?

& where you said that the previous goal has nothing to do with it, actually it does... because you can post a video and question this one but how come your not saying anything about the other one, that on was bullshit, you obviously have to have something against the wings if your one of the ONLY people to say anything about it not counting.

    thanks.

-from a dedicated red wings fan (who was at the game by the way)

  • Puck was loose end of story, end of Duck season

  • Yes it was a fair goal. The puck was loose.

  • As they say in soccer (futbol) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOAL. Cleary knocks it under Hiller's pad, and Hiller actually knocks it in. Refs had to make it fair for the blown call on the Hossa goal.

  • not to mention the no-goal in game 3

  • questionable? are you serious. that was in all the way

  • It's not a question of being in or not.

The reason people might say it didn't count is because Cleary pushed the goalies pad into the next and might not have had direct contact with the puck.

  • your saying his bad went into the net? Look again.

  • @6663000 The "pushed over the line with the puck" rule refers to when a goalie has control of the puck (such as UNDER a leg pad or blocker or inside his glove) and is pushed over the line, not when it is a loose puck like it is here. It's simply sitting behind his right leg - look at 0:38. Definitely a good goal.

  • @candycorn999 that's what she said

  • this is a stupid question.. it was a fair goal.. ramblings of someone unable to accept that the better team won..

  • yea definietly

  • The Ducks got 2 bullshit goals in this game so yeah it was fair.

  • I'm not a fan of the Ducks or the Red Wings. But I really don't understand that logic.

It was either fair or it wasn't. the previous goals have nothing to do with it.

  • @jboidaman99 2 bullshit goals?? No they didn't. The Goals the Ducks scored this game were all fair. This goal is questionable because it does appear that the stick pushes his pads in but it's hard to tell i think Detroit just got the benefit of the doubt. See Detroit gets calls their way also yet they always whine about getting screwed out of calls.

  • @Kartracer6 Hey, it's you again! You're back yet again to attempt to bash Detroit---what a surprise!

The two bullshit goals he refers to were the result of two horrible calls against the Wings.

  • @Crymson1 "The Ducks got 2 bullshit goals in this game so yeah it was fair" Notice how it says "THIS GAME" I realize you have selective reading and every time you comment me I continuously own you because of your poor lack of knowledge of hockey....which isn't untypical of a red wings fan. It seems like 95 percent of wings fans just don't seem to have any knowledge of hockey. I've watched the other goals in this game by the ducks....none are bullshit goals.

  • @Kartracer6 I never said that. I've maintained all along that it was legal. Guess who else agrees? The NHL rulebook!

I've yet to see any high hockey knowledge from you, Mr.

  • @Crymson1 LOL the same hockey knowledge I've shut you up with on other links?

  • @Kartracer6 I don't recall any of it. The only thing I remember of you is that you frequently show up in video containing the Red Wings and complain incessantly.

Whatever the case, I think the NHL rulebook knows more about the legality of this goal than you do. If you're not willing to accept that, then I'm thinking you've lost touch with reality.

  • @Crymson1 yup...and so far the rulebook has been the references I've used to prove you wrong. Several times I've given you defenses from the rule book and you just disappear, only to show up on another site whining and crying.

  • @Kartracer6 We must be living in different universes, as I don't remember a single instance of such happening.

  • @Crymson1 Ya...I'm living in the Universe everyone else is in. I just simply wish you'd come out of your denial universe and join us. you tend to cry and whine alot to me...you must just enjoy getting owned

  • @Crymson1 oh and besides if you wanna apply a rule to this call it's easy. Rule 69.6 In the event that a goalkeeper has been pushed into the net together with the puck by an attacking player after making a stop, the goal will be disallowed. at 0:37 you can clearly see the puck stopped behind the goalie and Cleary's stick is on the oppisite site of the goalie touching the goalies pads. as you play the video you can see the pad get pushed to shove the puck in. Wings just got one here

  • @Kartracer6 Hahaha... that rule only applies if the puck is FROZEN. Nice try. Loose pucks in the crease are covered by section 69.6, which deals with incidental contact in the crease.

    This puck was not frozen.

  • @Crymson1 No it's not...it's for rebounds and loose pucks...not frozen pucks. Come on man the title is names Rebounds and loose pucks. How can a loose puck be frozen?? You may wanna try again on that one.

  • @Kartracer6 I didn't notice that you were referring to a different paragraph of the same section. Regardless, a "stop" refers to the goalie having control of the puck. As is, Cleary was banging away at the puck and may have come into incidental contact with the goalie. If what you're saying here were true, then a goalie would effectively have the puck frozen simply by having it behind him.

Hiller didn't have control, and Cleary inadvertently made contact with him while banging at a loose puck.

  • @Crymson1 Honestly..all things considered I could careless how this goal goes in. I can't stand the Ducks for the life of me and think their fans are the 2nd most annoying just under philly and I laughed at the fact they lost this series. But the rule is designed so that the goalie isn't the source used to score a goal. Such as if a puck is behind him and an offender just plows into the goalie to score the goal. This is iffy comapared to many but that is the rule that would be refered to this

  • @Crymson1 but the phrase "stop" refers that without any other actions by any other player the puck would in no way travel into the net. Who knows...maybe he would have kicked it in but Cleary's stick was touching the goalies pad that pushed the puck in.

  • @Kartracer6 It is illegal for a player to INTENTIONALLY push a goalie into the net, but Cleary was going for the puck and not for Hiller's pad. That's called incidental contact.

  • @Crymson1 Even if you make incidental Contact with the goalie...if when it happens a goal is scored then the goal is waved off.

  • @Kartracer6 You're wrong, else loose-puck battles in the crease would not exist.

  • @Crymson1 Loose-puck battles and pushing the puck in using the goalie are 2 different things. 69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks ....In the event that the puck is under a player in or around the crease area (deliberately or otherwise), a goal cannot be scored by pushing this player together with the puck into the goal.....you can make contact with the goalie on loose pucks but you can't use the goalie as a means of scoring.

  • @Kartracer6 "In the event that the puck is UNDER a player"

You're not even reading your own dumb shit you're posting.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds Leave it to a wings fan to be on here whining about an incident...3 YEARS AFTER IT HAPPENED....LOL

  • @Kartracer6 Leave it to a simple-minded dipshit like you to equate informing someone that they are wrong with whining.

Don't get butthurt because whatever shitty fucking team you follow isn't any good.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds Believe me my 2010 Stanley cup champion Blackhawks are no where near shitty. But seriously suck it up, quit whining, and move on.

  • @Kartracer6 Hahahahahahahaha you're telling me to suck it up that we scored the goal. Again, you're not even reading the dumb shit you're posting, you fucking retard. What are you, twelve? Hahahaha fucking tampon.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds your a very angry person and I feel sorry for you

  • @Kartracer6 Hahahahahahahaha yeah I'm so angry that my home town team has eleven times as many Cups as your shitty Disney movie franchise.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds your team has 44 cups?? well considering the most any one team has is 24 I find it hard to believe your team has 44 cups. Oh and the Ducks where a Disney movie Franchise not the Blackhawks....I sit here now just wondering if you've ever watched a single hockey game in your life or if this 44 time champion is a amatur league team or something your going on about

  • @Kartracer6 Hahahahahahahaha why the hell are you arguing about a Wings-Ducks game if you're a Hawks fan? Especially when you're wrong about incident in the video?

    Holy shit you're stupid.

p.s. The Hawks are a fucking joke. You had 34 fans before 2008.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds Are you kidding me?? LOL I stated I was a hawks fan a long way up the thread. Funny you post on here I can't read then prove you can't read. Oh and by the way Hawks have one of the best fan bases around. You obviously know nothing of the history of the Hawks and how even through the hard times we found a way to pull through. Oh btw I wouldn't be commenting about how good or bad the hawks are right now after you drop 5 games and sit nearly last.

  • @Kartracer6 lolololol no your team literally had no fans whatsoever before Toews and Kane came along. Yes, I know they just won a Cup and are back in the limelight, but you guys were pure shit not ten years ago. The Wings have been on top of the league, fucking it in the ass repeatedly for 20 years. Remember your place.

And about our current losing streak: cbssportsdotcom/mcc/blogs/entry/27694626/33107382?source=rss_teams_Detroit_Red_Wings

  • @mustbeburtreynolds You realize the wings went through a very similar drought before the 90's right? Now it's the hawks turn to take their place in the spot light. As for attendence. It has nothing to do with Toews and Kane. Their were always fans they just got shut out by a greedy owner. Funny how the year the owner passes away the hawks don't even make the playoffs yet the crowd starts flooding into the united center. Belive me it has nothing to do with players.

  • @Kartracer6 Ah, typical Kartracer. Sit nearly last? Yeesh. Apparently someone forgot that the Wings won their first five games.

  • @Crymson1 Who gives a crap if they one their first 5 games. The point of the comment was the noob was yelling about how the Hawks suck when the Hawks sat first and the wings where on a major losing streak. nothing new from you. Once a scrub always a scrub. I've wiped the floor with you so many times your not even worth another argument you just can't win....AGAIN

  • @Kartracer6 You've wiped the floor with me? Generally our exchanges consist of me demonstrating that you're a fool who shows up everywhere to level nonsensical insults and hilarious charges against the Wings purely because you dislike them.

  • @Crymson1 LOL hows the weather in that little world your living in. I can't think of a single time I haven't shut you up by just using the rule book to prove you wrong. Be gone noob

  • @Kartracer6 It's funny that you make mention of a dreamworld, because I don't remember a single instance in which you've done so.

You have a marked emotional stock in being "right." It's causing you delusions. See a shrink.

  • @Crymson1 I guess coming up with your own response was to much to ask. You had to use mine and switch the names. LOL your pathetic.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds He's arguing about it because he hates the Wings. He shows up in every Wings-related video he can to troll the Wings. It's probably the typical Blackhawks fan inferiority complex brought on by watching the Wings beat the snot out of the Hawks for so many years.

What's even more pathetic is that he does so under two different accounts.

  • puck was loose behind him, i think it was still a good goal even though some hockey comentators said it should have been no goal. But WTF, no body has mentioned hudlers goalie interfernce call, that should have been a pronger cross checking call. The ducks score on that power play, oh well the series is over and the wings move on.. WHOOA were half why there!!

    Go wings!!!!!!

  • I'm niether Ducks fan nor am I Red wings fan I'm a hockey fan. WTF was pronger doing standing there like an idiot. Throughout the series and the game Pronger has been charging on pounding people against boards and shit. at this time it was necessary to check the guy to the board because 3 min left in the game but pronger is standing and skating like a girl which gave him chance to put it in front of the net.

  • That goal is as legit as they come. The ref probably should have blown the whistle, but its only fair after that BS where Hossa had his goal waved off earlier in the series. That's Hockey Karma.

  • well that whole game had terrible officiating but that goal was for sure in the only argument i heard was it looked like cleary skate hit hillers pad but on slow mo u can see he didnt so goal for sure

*i was there sat 2 rows in front of stevie Y

  • Ducks fans complaining about goals? You got your freebie in game 3. ;) Enjoy the golf course!

  • Unless your name is Pronger, then you can go back to your favorite off-season activities like killing puppies and hating America

  • I don't even understand why this goal was controversial. As EVERYONE can see on the net cam, the puck was more or less PUSHED back into the net by Hiller's own leg. It was never frozen nor did Cleary "jam" the puck loose into the net. Anyone who thinks otherwise does not know hockey. Not to mention the OBVIOUS blown call at the end of game 3. Karma is a bitch.

  • Questionable?.... it wasn't Cleary's goal that was questionable, it was how the referees called two 5 on 3s against a team that had at least 120 more shots in the series and only 4 more power play? If I could I would have no problem telling Neidermeyer to SUCK MY ASS!

  • So was it typical Ducks favortism when Pronger cross checked Hudler into the Hiller and they called interference? Or the no goal at the end of game 3? Point is, stop bitching, the series is over.

  • goal. QQ. have fun golfing

  • well i'm done talking shit over youtube. as cool as you think you are doing it. pretty sure face to face you wouldn't have anything to say. so whatever. to all the RESPECTFUL wing fans, enjoy the win.

  • i like how you make fun of me, while you're following my comments around...good job. hope you feel better about yourself now.

    hope you get AIDS.

    :)

  • terrible. typical red wings favoritism.

  • are you serious? nhl hates the wings, and what about in game 3? quick whistle, you have no facts, or proof. typical ducks fan, doesnt no shit about the game

  • actually i'm a Coyotes and Lightning fan haha. 2 of the worst teams in the league i know, but i gotta support my teams.

but funny you should say the NHL hates the wings, it seems to be a trend. red wing fans think they are getting screwed, and every other team thinks the NHL favors the wings.

but your right, doesn't change the game. just what i think.

  • Haha i'm a Detroit Tigers fan so I hear ya on that anyway. (And i'm not even onna mention the Lions!)

  • I guess you don't watch many Wings games.

  • Considering the way the series (and the entire playoffs) have been called so far, this is definitely a good goal.

  • True, the calls have been all over the place this playoff. Crazy.

  • Good Goal

  • definitely a fair goal
