The chinese mass produce a rifle that beats alot of hand made custom us stuff . If you cant see that you are probably just sick with the red white and blue fever . Macarthur said he NEVER WANTED to fight a major Asian land battle . Thats why he want to nuke the red chinese in Korea . China is the emerging world power . FACT .the US is fading like the soviet socialist experiment failed .
From what I hear, Norinco actually bought the tooling and rifle specs directly from Springfield after they discontinued the USGI spec rifles. Viktorgorchev and Webstermr are right, THE only way to get a rifle closer to USGI specifications is to buy a USGI rifle!
can you buy bigger magazines for it? i know the capacity has to be five but my dad was mentioning something about pinned off magazines. so the magazine is large but only holds five
@smurfmeplease yup trade ex sells 20 round with the follower modified to block them to 5 rounds. 30$ each best deal I found. I like them more than my 5 round mags because removing them from the rifle is easier (5 rounders are almost flush so hard to grab with the tight fit).
Just bought one of these, woo hoo! But in the instruction manual it says to avoid civilian ammo (because the primers are too soft) Is this true!!?? Or should I just disregard it?
how were you able to buy this in America? it says something weird about not being able to purchase this from canada because of some trade embargo. any info could help.
forever who says its a piece of crap cause its made in China. then they should gtfo. norinco makes solid weapons. they are no cheap shitty weapons. they will do their job.
I just purchased mine a few days ago: Poly Technologies M305. Dated 2009. Same inporter: BELL LIFESTYLE.CA (BY-POLY INC.) I am also very happy with the overall fit and finish. Definitely an improvement over earlier shipments! The stock is a camo print and is as ugly as sin itself! I will be purchasing an authentic USGI fiberglass stock to replace it the first chance I get. Otherwise, a great investment for $599. Mine is designed to shoot 308 Winchester ammo, as stamped on the forged receiver.
Norinco and Poly Tech are not the same company. They are in direct competition with one another although both are out of China. The Poly Technologies have a Chromed interior barrel.
Actually, Norinco/Polytech's are considered higher quality then the Springfield ones due to them having forged receivers instead of cast. About the only forged receiver you can get aside from the 900 dollar ones LRB sells. American made doesn't always translate into higher quality.
@viktorgorchev yeh but if you try an tell an american that, they go into a blind patriot rage about how theirs is the best and only country in the world.... its funny really i just had a similar convo
just wondering what you mean hard on the gun...i don't see how a heavier grained bullet would make any difference on the gun except for chamber pressure which in turn would make the action cycle a little faster but wouldn't be noticeable, and i am sure the rifle can handle any pressure from off the shelf rounds.
That's exactly why it's harder on the rifle. It increases the wear on the operating rod. It is chambered for 7.62 NATO which is almost the same as .308 Winchester but not identical. You can safely fire commercial .308 in a 7.62 rifle BUT the max recommended bullet weight is about 175 grains and you want to be sure that you don't buy ammo with soft primers otherwise you could end up with slam fires (the M14 has a floating firing pin).
I can not buy more than 10 shot magazine in the U.S. and importing to Europe. Is it easy to remove the tracks that block magazine so it takes not more than 5 shots in the Canadian magazine. Of course I do it in Europe, but Canada sells magazine to Europe.
I picked up one of the 2009s in black as well. Haven't brought her to the range yet, but I agree the finish seems better than the 2007 Norcs. Also the stock and action seems nice and tight. I'll see how she feels after a couple of hundred rounds. I have to say that I am very pleased.
Yes, the finish is definitely more black, one reason why I went for this batch. I see Marstar has the old 2007 batch (grey with Chu wood stock) for $425. I paid $524. Wolverine in Canada has them for $525ea. as well. There is a camo version as well. I can't see any welds on the flash hider.
Nice Rifle! I have a side stamped polytech myself in California, got it unfired on consignment ata store for a little more than you got yours in US Dollars. You all are lucky to still be importing them, they stopped importing them into the US during the Clinton years. I am thoroughly happy with mine. I run surplus 7.62x51 through mine as several forums have stated the past Chinese rifles to run better with the surplus ammo than the .308 commercial ammo.
Thanks for writing. I have 3 of these rifles and they are all fantastic. Very nice quality on this 2009 shipment. I am glad I sold my 2007 model. The finish on those were not nearly as nice as this batch. Very happy.
(Possession & Acquisition License) for non-restricted firearms, (I don't think its a restricted firearm). As for registering it, you may not have too, they 're in the process of getting rid of long gun registry.
You can either take the course which is 80$ or challenge the test which I think is also 80$. Upon completion you will recieve your P.A.L. or possessions and acquisitions license. This is not a restricted firearm which means you don't need a restricted license. Good luck if you plan on doing the course or challenging the test.

@smurfmeplease 20 round magazines pinned to 5 are quite common in Canada via store or online.

I fucking hate the short magazine, but it's kind of pointless spending extra for a extended mag that you can't even use.

Absolutely right about the milled vs cast receivers. The Norincos/Polytechs are actually closer to USGI spec than the Springfields are.

make shure you shoot only 150 grain .308 a higher grain is very hard on the gun
