  • I love that my cellphone, which isn't even a smart phone, is better than the "pads" they use in any of the Star Trek series.

  • Oh my GOD that last clip about always trusting god make me emotionally ill.

Teaching an entire generation to "just believe it because god said so" is absolutely disgusting.

  • @WirlWind494 lol interesting phrase you used there. it's almost unfortunate how such a common expression if disbelief calls upon the utter bollocks we are currently in the process of unravelling

  • @mfcstevenson The "oh my god" bit? I like to use it because it pisses people who know me off :)

"But you don't BELIEVE in god! Why are you using his name in vain!?" It's my way of trolling the ones I love.

  • At my school we were taught both creationism and evolution. OK, that isn't tottally true. We were taught what creationists believe in RS class and we got taught evolution in biology

If they are to teach creationism, they should teach it in religious studies, not as an alternative theory, but what creationists believe. And then we can do what they did in my class and make jokes about it with the school chaplin for an hour. Good times.

How many creationists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

  • @trilbybunny All of them. One to hold it in place, the rest to spin everything else around it.

  • @trilbybunny None, creationists don't believe in lightbulbs.

  • @trilbybunny Zero, they sit around in the dark and pray for god to do it.

  • Holy shit! That video at 7:45 was one the most horrifying videos I'v EVER seen :O The amount of manipulation... Seemed like propaganda to me and who was the nasty guy who used that quite alot...? Oh.. Yeah..

  • @mutzilnosoundl HEIL JESUS!

  • I dumped it,

    I flushed it,

    that settles it!

  • 7:46 , sad and so pathetic it leaves me speechless.

  • Thanks for this one! I'm currently watching the series from start to finish and you articulated my own frustrations perfectly, although for me, it includes climate denial, anti-vax groups and alternative medicine; all of which I've been writing about, myself. It's a massive insult that they use the results of science to undermine it.

  • @MothIncarnate for climate denial look up "Monckton Bunkum" by potholer54 fbW-aHvjOgM

  • @Thunderf00t You, sir, rock

  • this totally underestimate the advancement of the brain. the reason that computers can calculate things faster than humans can isn't b/c of memory but b/c of RAM. computers aren't limited like brains are b/c the average human can only use 7% of his brain at one time. if he could use even 50% they could easily out speed a computer. those who are autistic can do such remarkable things like those calculations or memorization.

  • @chipan9191 google "humans use 10 of brain myth"

There's even a children's website explaining how wrong your facts are, it's the second result.

  • @HypnologicQualm no i know we use 100% of your brain but that's not what i said. i said "AT ONE TIME." i went to that childrens website and it did say what you support but i didn't say anything like that.

  • @chipan9191 "Perhaps when people use the 10% brain statement, they mean that only one out of every ten nerve cells is essential or used at any one time? How would such a measurement be made? Even if neurons are not firing action potentials, they may still be receiving signals from other neurons." From the children's website.

  • @HypnologicQualm And to add, from Wikipedia:

"Furthermore, from wikipedia: "Neurologist Barry Gordon describes the myth as laughably false, adding, "we use virtually every part of the brain, and that [most of] the brain is active almost all the time"

What I am trying to show is that a simple google search shows how wrong you are. You didn't even spend the 0.22 seconds it took to generate about 31,600,000 results to see if what you saying had any validity.

  • @HypnologicQualm yes well we have this new machine called an MRI which scans brain activity. this is how.

  • @chipan9191Your sentence makes now sense. Also, you provided another false bit of information.

Magnetic resonance was first discovered in the 1950s, and lots of research on the method was carried out during the the 1970s, with a patent on NMR being filed in 1972. - Wikipedia

  • @HypnologicQualm 40-60 years is hardly new

  • @chipan9191 The ''you use 10% of your brain myth'' is so wrong and that people still think that is just retarded. You use pretty much all of your brain but not all of htem at the same time.

  • @theElectr0ne did you listen to what i said? i said "at one time." that doesn't mean in all

  • What the hell kind of hipster school was that? Apple lights as far as the eye could see...

  • @5k4k1dhtp I'm pretty sure having apple products makes you the exact opposite of a hipster.

  • Christnuggets... those children sounded like zombies.

  • @KajexFiredrake

    They were.

  • Thank god i'm Atheist.

  • Mendel's Principles of Heredity a religious who began the chain of evolution with his green beans.

  • This guy is so angry. Hes got a point though.

  • @ZachSolten Of course he's angry didnt you get the point of the video!? He's pissed that religious types are trying to discredit the scientist i.e. the people who push civilization forward, because scientific theory directly contradicts religious text. Text which people are so brainwashed to believe they’ll forgo what’s blatantly in front of their faces, whilst using all the advances the scientists have made in their daily lives. Absolute hypocrisy

  • @ZachSolten

    Anger is the appropriate response.

  • Nice selection of music you've got there. Good to see some Pink Floyd and Jeff Wayne.

  • 7:47 please tell me those kids know better than that idiot creationist

  • 7:47 is DISGUSTING what is the original video?

  • I've been a convinced atheist since i was 5, but I have to say, that point you make at the beginning, that could be turned around to speak for ID.

I mean if I was going to create a species, I sure as hell wouldn't write an entirely new source code for each of them, but instead build a reusable kernel with small modular components to create individuality ^^

altough I think I'd only need 500kB to for each persons essence xD

  • @AximKK92 If you were omnipotent, you could make the source code infinitely complex for every individual in any time frame you wanted to.

  • @penngbwoiG

If you were omnipotent, you'd be a work of self-contradictory fiction with no power to do anything.

  • @rkyeun True dat, but i was humouring the idea that it was possible.

  • @penngbwoiG

Well if you're going to do that, you can't stop with just that. You have to rewrite true to equal false and become complete nonsense. Otherwise the parts of logic you haven't destroyed are enough to rebuild the whole and disprove it again. To make it possible you have to... think possible and impossible are synonyms.

  • the ending with the kids was kinda depressing :(

  • @LolzAtMagicMuffins @willtoob They may have a chance to escape, I was raised as a strict evangelical young earth creationist, and I completely bought into it, then when I got to about 15 or so I realised that there were one or two holes in the explanations....now I am studying Environmental Biology & Geology, so there is hope! Unfortunately not everyone escapes. My family still talks of "alleged fossils" and "alleged DNA"

  • It is pretty underhanded and deceitful when you think about it. Actual scientists have to have their theories undergo an unimaginably brutal peer review process in order to have their ideas taught in the classroom.

Proponents of Intelligent design, knowing full well their ideas wouldn't last 5 minutes under peer review, circumvent the whole process by sneaking it directly into the classroom by religious teachers. Seriously, it doesn't get much more dishonast than that!

  • Why isn't it obvious to Creationists that the mind of a child can't handle concepts such as hell and magic fruit and on and on!

  • Christians have always been anti-knowledge, after the fall of Rome and the rise of Byzantium, the Holy Roman Empire, roman science was banned as satanic, we lost indoor plumbing and concrete for 1500 years because of this! Where would we be now if christianity had never existed?

  • @skweakykitty Me and a friend sat down and figured it out, once upon a time. I can't fully remember the final conclusion we reached (we're talking on the order of a decade ago, after all) but I believe it was close to the birth of the Space Age being around the same time Columbus discovered the New World.

  • This is probably my favourite of the whole series.

  • SHUT THE HECK UP U IDIOT!!!!!! I BET U TELL THAT TO EVERY BAD VIDEO U C SO JUST LAY OFF!!!!!!!!

  • @spiderpunk94 Pipe down you child. Men are talking.

  • tell me what we have today thanks to evolution, if you want to, u see i like to understand your view if thats ok :P

I am not against science I am against teaching the wrong things when we have the right answer i you know what i mean :P

  • This is by far your best video, TF! Keep up the good work!

  • why is there a video response called 'PIIGFUCKEERRRR!!'???

  • That scene with the children repeating his nonsense gives me the creeps. Like sheep to a slaughter. Those poor kids have no chance.

  • Well done.

  • Amazing video! As always spot on with your information. Thank you!!!

  • This guy should be given a Nobel Prize Award!

  • The human genome is bootstrap code for much more complicated devolopment over the course of ~20 years. it is not the human definition, but the human blueprint - in the same way a boot image of +/-(50mb/partit.) allows access and creation of (insert HDD space here)+ worth of processes. "Scientifically Illiterate" is certainly the best description here.

  • Because we disagree with eachother, means we're wrong, and because creationists don't, they're right.

Anyone else start busting out in laughter at that? S'like saying "Because I'm full, and you're full, and we're the only two people in this house full of food, humans do not need to eat. Ever."

  • Ugh... that guy talking to the kids at the end made me want to kill myself and everyone in the immediate postcode. In that order.

  • Please line all of the creationists that are wasting time to disprove science up and give me a gun.

The world would be better in five seconds .

  • Good one, but i would not suggest that the 'scientific method' is without problems. It does have a few, but it *is* much better than the religious blindness.

  • HAHAHAHA The guy at 7:36 looks like a gd alien! Lmfao look at size of his head compared to his body!

  • This is the best one yet in this series. Perfectly put.. when I was young my mother used to take me to church (I still resent her a little for that, she probably can't understand why). I was asking about dinosaurs on the way home one day, and she told me that dinosaur bones and the fossil record were SEEDS PLANTED BY THE DEVIL. I wasn't even 10 years old and it made me sick. Still does. I'm going to go listen to Spiritual Healing now

  • WTF??? they allow to indoctrinate little kids with such a BS??

looks like the classroom of bin laden....

  • Thunderfoot is so disgusted by the end of this video he doesn't include his standard "Why do people laugh at Creationists? closing

  • there ought to be a law against these creationist fools being able to influence our children. Funny how they are perfectly willing to accept modern conveniences but insist on pathetic attempts to disprove science. I say let them go back to sheep herding, cooking over fires, beating clothes over rocks, etc., etc., Back to the way it was done when the "book" was written. Leave the rest of us alone. Go find a deserted island somewhere.

  • @nancy6ify You´re absolutely right. Even the Amish nowdays are driving pickup trucks allthough those are supposed to be the hardcore oldschoolers. May they think mobile phones and computers etc. have been sent by God, ie. Apple headquarters are located in heaven then... :) Well on the other hand many Mac users seem to be believe so, hence worshipping that brand. :P

  • @nancy6ify 100% agreed, it ticked me off so much when i saw the scene where little kids were brainwashed to saying to trust god before scientists. What has god ever done for us? unnecessary war? deluding people from the truth? creating lazy people who instead investigates the truth, just concludes with god did it? People who pray instead lending a helping hand? People who sins and thinks all they have to do is confess? AND these god dam ignorant creationists!!

  • Thunnderf00t, you are an intellectual badass of the highest order, sir. Keep educating people about the wonders of real science, and keep debunking fairy-tale idiocy. Love this series of vids.

  • This video must be my favorite in the series. The conclusion is one of the most concise and eloquent defenses against Creationist attacks on the scientific method and its contributions to civilization.

  • at the beginning of the video i was like "oh god, hovind and his fucking chromosomes again"

  • Scientists have debates and areas of disagreement on the concept of Evolution, like in every aspect of science. But there is no debate on Evolution as a whole within the scientific community. It withstands and grows stronger after 160 years of speculation and criticism. The evidence is profound and in the course of a few decades nearly all scientists rejected Creation for Evolution. Creationists don't care about being fair, they just want to have their influence spread everywhere.

  • It's frightening that in early 2008, the world's population was around 6 billion and in fall of 2011, it's nearly 7 billion. Search for 'world population clock' for the site to watch it click over to 7 billion next week or the week after - youtube won't let me post the link 'cuz it has that awful dubya dubya dubya in it!!

  • 8:01 I dont like that, If you are going to spout bs spout it to someone who is old enough to think rationally

  • @CatholicCreed Agreed, we need the science and knoledge they are tampering with

  • you have a sexy voice. Very similar to Alan Rickman :)

  • @IntolerantAtheist1 yes mate one day i hope that religion will be as it should be a distant past in human cultural evolution

  • 7:25 I'm not English but "Spot On"

Can you imagine where human civilization would be if there was no religion to ever hold it back. The mind boggles

  • @Mapnapkin Creationists and religious extremists are indeed narrow-minded and inflexible to other's ideas but let's not forget that religion is what inspired thousands, if not millions of pieces of artwork and music in the past. We wouldn't have things like St. Peter's Basilica or many of the other brilliantly ornate churches and cathedrals. Religion, like most things, have to sides. Creationists, however, are in a category of their very own. Intentionally blind to reality.

  • @NaivaxWolf That is an interesting idea that I had not thought of, however, if not religious artwork, we still would have had inspiring artwork at the same level, just with different subjects. The lack of religion would not have limited art, we would just have something different to look at. But, now I am making assumptions... who knows. Interesting idea.

  • Any real religion can not disagree with science. Be you atheist or theist, lets smash the creationist.

  • I don't laugh at creationist, I pity them.

  • @TullySaranLawd He had a rare genetic mutation called the "Awesome Gene", and he's trying to find out how to activate it in other people.

  • I've just noticed. The music used in the DI video is the same as that used in the Big Think videos.

  • Does anyone know what Thunderf00ts profession is? I mean he's obviously a scientist, but can anyone tell me which branch he specialises in or anything?

  • @TullySaranLawd I am in no way certain but I think he's a chemist and he may also have a degree in astronomy. I may be way off also but I've seen his other videos where those are the subjects of his observations or experiments. That being said he's probably a biologist or something else completely different from what I said and I'm probably an idiot.

  • @wkrepelin Lol no it's a good guess i was thinking he must be a research chemist with a PhD or something myself, but his knowledge of physics is also amazing. He's like a human encyclopedia.

  • @TullySaranLawd I believe he is an astro-physisist.. I could be wrong on the astro, but I am fairly sure he is a physisist.

  • @TullySaranLawd Search "thunderf00t's research" on youtube and watch the video by c0nc0rdance.

In it, c0nc0rdance explains that thunderf00t is a research fellow in a precise field of physical chemistry, and has been consistently productive: 34 publications since 2003, first author on 20 of them, mostly in 2nd or 3rd tier journals, with one first author in Proceedings of the Natl Academy of Science. "Could absolutely take this cv and be a serious contender for an assc. prof. at a top level uni

  • That con man at the end of the video should be tried in court for brainwashing little kids. What a sick man!

  • In the end the truth will come out. Wishful thinking cannot withstand methodical reasoning forever and the longer it goes on, the more nonsensical the rigid religious position gets as knowledge advances exponentially and makes a mockery of ostrich-like behaviour. It's wrong that there is an unrecognized bunch of "disadvantaged children being "created" right now (and not by "god" either).

  • The way those kids were speaking in monotone unison shows just how devastating indoctrination is on the young impressionable mind

  • @therealistone2003 saying that does not get you any more respect nor does it prove evolution (not evilution) any less real.

  • @bazinga1964 true but it makes me feel better and who looks for respect on a social site.

  • This makes me wonder when science is going to come up with a way to implant computer chips in the brain that can function with the brain and send and receive signals to and from it. An internal number cruncher! That would be AWESOME! ^_^

Not to mention if any data collected or learned could be retrieved after a person's death, or downloaded and shared... we'd all be super-geniuses in no time (and of course in achieving that religion would be abolished)!

  • Who is the guy at 7:47?

  • fuck evilution

  • i like how you sorted ur MP3s largest to smallest... to further prove ur point a MP3 is more like 5mb

  • The creationist video at 7:48 was despicable. I want to punch that guy for brain washing all those kids and making them turn against science and pray to some magic man for answers.

  • Big thanks to Thunderf00t for these videos, awesome stuff. Your doing the job the media should have done long ago if it wasn't owned by people that either believe in creationism or that have an interest in having the public believe in creationism.

  • If hu

  • That creationist scumbag lecturing those children on god is absolutely disgusting. I went to a catholic school as a child where we were effectively force-fed religion from the age of 4+ but thankfully I possessed enough intelligence to break free from the poisonous grasp of religion from a young age, before it ensnared me like it has done to so many others before me.

    Question EVERYTHING.

  • wow i'm glad no one ever did that to me

  • If I were Christian, the moment I saw the dude in the blue suit, I'd throw the video away.

  • Has any scientist ever been there? No

Who has always been there? God

Who do we actually know exists? Scientists

Who keeps working to find out more about our world and gives their professional input? Scientists

Who hasn't contributed to scientific knowledge in thousands of years, or ever for that matter? God...

  • @GarretsShadow

    well said :-)

  • the indoctrination of children is fucking disgraceful.

  • @noahzuniga No, its down right fucking SICK!

  • MY internet connection speed was about 5mbps, so I can download what differs me from everybody else in 2 seconds with my computer?

  • Being one of those poor scientists that is, as you so eloquently put it, removed from the front, would suck, roughly the equivalent of doing an rpg grind against randomly spawned enemies, but without the XP or phat lewts at the end!

  • 7:46 This has to be the worst thing I have ever heard someone tell children. Ever. That's not even acceptable. Not even remotely correct, morally or in any other way. I'm a pacifist, and I say that man should be shot dead and never spoken of again. He's the very reason I have little hope in the survival of the human race. That's as bad as saying, "always stay on the same path. Never change, and continuously repeat the same things and expect different results. Do not experiment in life." INSANITY

  • God doesn't want you to do homework kids! We've done it for you! yay!

  • I can trust god but he never gives any input so I'm going with the scientists.

  • great vid

  • i have been watching your videos for some time now. i have to say i love what you have done. you are a great voice for someone like me. i have grown up in an entirely christian community and have been fed all of the lies you have dis proven for as long as i can remember. thank you

  • I dont blame you for being upset in the end. They were pretty hellbent on making there views more valid then the others just because some BS book says otherwise.

  • I don't know how to express myself but to say I love you. I love you I love you and keep it up! I'm just a wee bit too drunk. All the same though. I hope you are well.

    Emma

  • YEAH GO CHRISTIAN DIE ALL ATHESITS OH YEAH OH YEAH

  • that guy at the end of this vid should never be allowed to talk to another group/class/gathering for the rest of his life.

A part of me wants to punch his lights out but I never would, im not that kind of person =)

  • Damn, is Thunderfoot pissed or what

  • That bit with the kids twisted something.... Why am I tolerant of this?

  • Dear Ken Ham (the dickhead at 7:46)

Your pathetic creationist empire, your agenda to twist freedom of speech and insist only those who believe as you do can be worthy to reap its benefits, and your campaign to brainwash children is a detrement to the free thinking world (well, maybe not North Korea, they've been out of the equation since 1948). Do me a favour, terminate your Australian citizenship and stay out of my homeland. Then do the rest of mankind a favour, go die a slow, painful death.

  • "bigger than any program ever made"

IS IT BIGGER THAN "WORLD OF WARCRAFT" MOTHER FUCK?

  • IS IT BIGGER THAN "WORLD OF WARCRAFT" MOTHER FUCK?

  • I'm supposed to go to bed now, but...I can't stop watching these. The religious stupidity concerns me deeply, and Thunderf00t's educated rebuttals engage me. I look forward to the day when science has advanced enough so I can modify my own circadian rhythm...and of course made theism obsolete.

  • 7:46!!! WTF no wonder there are so many avid believers in Creationism, to all you Creationists, I truly feel sorry you were abused in this way, you never had a chance at thinking for yourselves... This has to stop......

  • I wonder if presenting a money-free society to the academic arena would be met with thunderous applause...and not just because some of them would be Roddenberry fans.

  • “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

    -Epicurus

  • 7:46 is real child abuse!

  • 7:46 shocking!!! whr r their parents... ????

  • 7:47 made me really sad :(

  • Dear Thunderf00t,

This video was not included in your free downloads for WDPLAC. Instead it was a duplicate of Part 20.

  • Them kids don't stand a chance in life being fed lies from a young age. We have a term for this its called brain washing and not only is it unethical but it is dam right tantamount to child abuse.

  • @danmartin4 It is child abuse. But they do stand a chance. Look at people like the thinking atheist. Christian for many, many years of his life. But science and reason saved him from a life of ignorance. Spread these videos, as well as other informative videos that destroy the religious argument. Instead of sitting around "hoping" and "praying" that others free themselves from the bonds of ignorance, like a christian would.

  • @danmartin4 I grew up in that.

I made it out, some of those kids will too, but a lot won't. There should be something we could do about it...

  • Comment removed

  • 7:46 actually made me say out load, "Oh my god..." Its not only shocking but REVOLTING that someone would brainwash young impressionable minds with something like that. That man should be locked up and kept far away from children.

  • the man at 7:46 made me want to throw up. ken ham is absolutely despicable. he was manipulating the minds of children, in an attempt to gain more christians on his side. he was lying and acting childish and sick. ken ham is an awful person.

  • Awesome. BTW...has ID ever been presented to journals as "real" science before? Can I do it for the Lulz?

  • I have some of that music in that playlist!

  • Stop creationists from ruining our society. Stop them from poisoning the minds of children.

  • Yeah, Screw Intellectual Honesty, We have an Agenda to push!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nothing comes by accident, nothing.

  • Holy shit! Look how tiny that guy's head is at 7:36 ! It's smaller then his neck.

  • @uskafighter bahahahaa

  • The children scene almost made me cry

  • Thunderf00t is a NWO agent. Don't be fooled.

  • Academic peer review, like academia in general, is far more about people clinging to their money, reputations and positions than it is to furthering the knowledge of mankind. Look up the video "unnecessary fuss", the East Anglia Climate Leaks, or Professor Hwang Woo-Suk for examples of academic misconduct. I appreciate how thunderf00t presents creationists, but to claim academia is a bastion of unadulterated, benevolent knowledge is deeply misleading.

  • @spiritanvil

This may be true of certain individuals, but academic peer review is a rigorous process whereupon hundreds of people attempt to poke as many holes as they can in one's findings. It is also worth noting that it is infinitely better for some good data and conclusions to be shot down in peer review than a single bad theory slip through the cracks.

  • @spiritanvil

The fact thatt Hwang Woo-Suk, the cold fusion guys, and other people who have falsified information were revealed for the liars that they are is a tribute to how effective the peer review process is. It was through this process that it was discovered the papers were false. Just because the occasional falsified paper gets accepted into a journal does not mean that the whole peer review system has failed as a whole.

  • every 1 pray if u want ken ham to get aids.

  • At the start (0:00) he says "They say that the code...", "They" who is this "they"? that's right.

  • eeep The Beatles! haha great video thunder :P

  • Multipy those two numbers, Okay, 2.57911732842899e+15

  • if ID were truth, then why is it that all of us are not equal? surely someone Intelligently Designed wouldn't turn out blind deaf and mute (Helen Keller).

  • ive been watching this series of the last few days, well put sir

  • The scene with the kids being lectured... well... it looked like brainwashing to be perfectly honest.

  • @84warhead Yep! Try that stunt with a group of rational adults & you wouldn't make it to the end of your first page of lecture notes. Get 'em when they're young & impressionable. Watch the movie Jesus Camp. Unfuckingbelievable.

  • "I'll be back." He made that frase sound more badass than the terminator! XD

  • @Rex0142king How dare you misspell 'phrase' in the presence of Thunderf00t!

  • @CammehYaBams Cuase he's so badass he wont bother. ;)

  • @Rex0142king Haha, definitely :P
