Man, I just love this guy's playing. I don't care if he sounds like this guy or that guy or whatever. He's telling a story here, and a damn good one at that. Check out some of the other vids with Kai. He plays some just absolutely killer jump blues, which IMHO is difficult in itself to get the swing feel. Love ya Kai!
love the guitar work, don't forget the two guys at the back keeping that rock steady beat. You gotta know your shit to get that groove down and keep it there.
dude, it's not about being "better"!!! It's about everyone having their own style for god's sake! Anyway, agree with Alvinorey and can't understand some others. this is *nothing* like SRV or even a bit like jimmie vaughan. personally, i'd go with 80% ronnie earl and 20% anson funderburgh. Kai's a player i have a lot of respect for but a small piece of me wishes he'd be even a tiny bit original sometimes - i'm sure he has it in him - he's just obviously very heavily influenced by others!
Well...It really reminds me an old performance at Stubb's BBQ by Stevie Ray Vaughan where Stevie plays BB King tune "You've don't lost ur good thing now"...most of the licks are very very close...anyway really BB king and jimmie vaughan style
ok so kai, whats up? is this a hobby or are you planning on throwing some stuff out? if u have already scuse me...but id like to heare more. so let a brotha know where he can cop some of your stuff. thanks
Excellent. The technique and maturity of Anson Funderburg with excellent vocabulary and feel. Doesn't get all worked into a lemon sucking lather in the upper register like RE.
Yeah good playing, he kept my attention on his playing for the entire clip. That means that while he has the feel of some other players(BB, Jimmy Vaughan, etc) that was him talking through his guitar.
These guys are very good and guitar player has great licks, feel and gets the whole "less is more" thing. The only thing is there's not a lot of originality. I'm really hearing Ronnie and Jimmie, who are dynamite, but would like to hear his individual style more.
Thanks for the comment ,you can also check their latest release on their website http://www.memogonzales.com Thoses guys really deserve recognition I guess !
Yes Borny that's what I told him after the gig but he is very humble, for sure he knows the real stuff and play with a lot of feeling. Real great band !
This guitarist is great! He says something in his playing, it isn't just some licks going on. Ronnie and Jimmie are some of my favourites too and he really catches alot of they're style.
Nice Playing Man! Real Blues!

It's regular electric bass, but the he is playing it upright that makes it look like he's playing double bass (or upright as you say)

some really slick riffs there, love how you throw in some echoes of old T bone in there (or so I heard, I might be wrong) well done bro.
