@vcambboo It's not fake. As you can see the four soldiers are standing on ice. Even look at the reflection of the soldier that fell. You can see the reflection matches how his body is and his bayonet scabbard also has a reflection.

As for the picture I believe it was taken in 1940 (can't remember), I have it somewhere in a large book full of pictures from LIFE. You can even see the third soldier from the left is laughing at his fellow comrade that has fallen on the ice.
