  • reminds me of my bloody valentine in a way

  • ya know,.. I had to sit through a shitty commercial and theres no embedding, and the video and sound quality sucks,..thanks Universal!

  • Teenage Fanclub. <3

  • I just realized how many of my favorite bands are Scottish, and how many of them have vocals that don't sound Scottish (at least to my ears).

  • Yeah, the Scotts sure do have some great bands! and thats coming from an Aussie, not a Scot ;) hehe :)

  • I saw these guys open for Radiohead in '97. they didn't do this song. :(

    #@!

  • I would've thought radiohead would open for TFC otherwise radiohead would be such a downer after TFC's beautiful uplifting songs...!!! how unfortunate! hahaha :P

  • I'm in the Detroit area; by '97, hardly anyone here even remembered who Teenage Fanclub were. :(

    #@!

  • you speak as though they are finished, or were by 97, actually, they are still recording and performing regularly... they have never broken any records for commercial success thats for sure, maybe thats one of the reasons why I still love them :P hehe

  • Forgotton how awesome this was.

  • Teenage Fanclub: the greatest guitar pop group of all time??? Pure pop ecstasy

    :)

  • I love them too, but I don't know about the _greatest_... but why choose? There are so many great ones

  • hehehe.. ok fair comment... I was drunk when I said that, and that makes them sound even better!! hehehe.. I luv em!! ;)

  • Hey, thanks!

  • this was released before radioheads first album

  • very nice reminds me of Superchunk and Huskerdu. and Redd Kross a bit too.

  • Also, throw in some Antenna but more close to Redd Kross I agree. These guys are from Scotland right?

  • Yep. Finest Scottish.

  • yup. Wouldnt it be awesome if the jesus and mary chain headlined a show with these guys and the vaselines opening for them?? fuck franz ferdinand though, just the first three.

  • That songs just blows me away!!!

Reminds me of early radiohead (especially pablo honey)

  • i bet theyre still picking the glitter out of their scalps.

  • a qualidade desse video e pessima mas o som!!

  • For a UMG Youtube video, the video quality sucks.

    Song rocks though.

  • jaileeworthy, did you reply to the wrong person by mistake? LOL

  • ya especially when the commercial they make you watch before the video is excellent quality, effing universal. Great song!

  • This song is alright

  • best song ever \o\

  • Great Song, Annoying Vid :o(

  • fuck the quality of this video. Great song though

  • Ahhhh... The 90`s.

  • I heart these boys. Gerry is my favorite. I like his curly hair <3

  • love it - Bandwagonesque is such a trippy psychedelic album!

  • This song never fails to give me a smile even if the video quality is shite.

  • Great song, but really poor video quality. Universal are you scared we don't buy TFC's records anymore when you raise the quality? :p

  • Saw them at Liverpool Royal Court supported by Juliana Hatfield and The Posies in December 1993. Class. Best gig I've EVER been to!

  • that was nice you saw them in90's! this song makes me remember back my times.

  • Saw them at Reading in the rain in 1992 when I was 15 - still in my top ten of all time

  • saw them at the same venue two years previous, glad i witnessed "Everything Flows" live.

  • To me, they sound like a cross between Guided By Voices and Weezer.

  • To me they sound like a combo of Big Star and Husker Du.

    Weezer? Plz!

  • These guys are so great and so underappreciated. Their songs can be so perfect.

  • Teenage Fanclub stomps all over Weezer.

  • TFC are top notch! Great songwriting and lovely guys too...

  • i`d so forgot, these things make my day

  • Re-charges my soul again & again. Like an old friend.

  • They remind(ed) me of The Posies and Ride, I know two very different bands.

  • Right????

  • Well it's tha best comment on the 90s. A UK Sonic Youth with better lyrics.

  • actually, I've always thought that they're kinda like Dinosaur Jr. with Elliot Smith on vocals........Ha-Ha!!........

  • A beautiful group... men for whom melody is all! Blessed.

  • Great band. Could have been fucking huge if they had big egos and looked liked rock stars like the Sex Pistols, Oasis, Beatles, etc. Also, they didn't act like they reinvented the wheel; they are just pure 60's pop updated. Too many bands think they are original, like punk rock which is just 50's rock n' roll. They did speed in the 50's too. Nothing is original except technology. Every music has roots.

  • Your totally right. These guys could have been huge but they came out before the whole "Alternative" scene came about in the mid 90's. These guys were just about done by that time...never saw their prime. Also, your right with the whole "nothing is original except technology", that's why I'm an electronica freak now. Rock has been done over and over again. It's time to move foward in a more progressive era.

  • Similar guitars to Dinosaur Jr, but they have more harmonies, and are much sweeter on the ears imo.

  • That's funny, because as soon as I hear Teenage Fanclub it reminds me of the days when you could catch both Teenage and Dino Jr. on 120 minutes on MTV. Remember, back when MTV played videos? You're right though, similar styles Dino and Teenage.

  • This song never fails to put a smile on my face

  • Not just ripping off Dinosaur Jr but Neil Young. Start Choppin !

  • I don't think they're ripping them off. They're just influenced by them, but I really don't hear much Dinosaur Jr. influence. I hear a lot of Big Star influence, to tell you the truth.

  • Well I shouldn't have used the term "ripping" but still hear Din. Jr.. You might be right on Big Star ..I haven't listened to them much but my fav all time band The Replacements were influenced by them. What are Big Stars best songs .. I will listent to them ..

  • September Gurls, In The Street, Don't Lie to Me, She's a mover, Way out West, Mod Lang, Back of a Car... virtually, anything off 'No.1 Record' or 'Radio City' really. the 3rd album isn't so pop orientated but it's great in its own way.

  • the theme song for "that 70's show is a big star song" "september girls" "motel blues" "13" but every single bigstar song IS A CLASSIC AND KICKS ASS. YOU MUST BUY BIGSTAR'S THIRD/SISTERS ALBUMS

  • Thanks for the tip; will buy; I know september gurls is good - as you know Replacements are my "fav thing". You see Dinosaur Jr and N Young influence don't you? cause some are calling me nuts on that accord. Always some the best never make - no justice. Haven't followed Oasis much but first couple of Cds had some good stuff .. latest Cds are rips of worst off Beatles. Ever get a chance listen to Misunderstood by Dinosaur - Richard Thompson did some OK songs but his best was "mistunderstood"

  • not an osais fan. i came of age during the early 90's. was in 7th grade when nirvana released nevermind. soo sonic youth, dinosaur jr,pixies, breeders,pj harvey, flaming lips, beck, mark laneagan (screaming trees)L7,pulp,meatpuppets,replacements,husker du,throwing muses, smashing pumpkins, ramones, dead kenedys, janes addiction, pavementjesus marychian, r.e.m.soul asylum, soundgarden, mudhoney, faith no more, radio head, paul westerberg, spirtualized. A LOT MORE CANT REMEMBER OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. BUY IT

  • If I may add to your excellent list: The Cult, Mission U.K., X, Hoodoo Gurus, Alice in Chains, The Melvins, NOFX, Firehose (Mike Watts post Minutemen band), any band from the SST label, Concrete Blonde (name courtesy of Michael Stipe) and Pylon. I was in college from '84-'89 and had the pleasure of seeing many of the bands you list.

  • Oh my god, the memories, all good, yeSSSSS

  • They're pretty good, but I can't get over how much they're ripping off Dinosaur Jr.

  • Belfast Kings Hall, early 90's, the Breeders, Fanclub..Nirvana..what a night.....

  • Fuck you fannyballs,i can smell yer ma's gash

  • i like em you dick.

and for them to beat Nirvana's NEVERMIND in the Spin Magazine, they must be pretty good.

  • bittersweet memories ;-) great song must have been my age

  • Love this song!! Never knew there was a video for it.

  • Magnificent

  • I liked this band when they hit the scene in the 90's/

Shame they didnt show longevity. I always thought the name was a double entendre. A poke at the fickle bubble gum demographic.

  • havent heard this in many years..

    still sounds great

  • I think this probably is their best song. Such a great album, bandwagonesque. I think they peaked there. SFNB is also a good album but a bit more tame.

  • Grand Prix is their best albumn. END OF.

  • Hey Universal Music Group, can we get some volume on this gem? Can barely hear it, sheesh.

  • they are my karma

  • If I became Prime Minister the Fanclub would write the new National Anthem...what a fantastic group!!!

  • This song reminds me of a girl I once knew named Leslie, God she was beautiful! Looked like a young Audrey Hepburn. I miss those days, I miss her. Wonder where she is now? Ha, she's in my mind for the moment! Great Times!
