White Christmas/Winter Wonderland followed this. Really good stuff. I really liked the SNL band stylings, a good fit for him. Loved the fake snow falling in the background too. I'll look to see if White Christmas is here in this archive. Thought it would be cool if they made a special edition Christmas card, the kind that opens and plays music with this sound clip. Good idea right?

Man - it was SOOO cool to be right there left stage (I can see myself on TV, with my elbows on the stage, but this video is blurry). I was so excited to see Taylor LIVE again, and that was the first glimpse of Loren (hott) and Felix (Hotter)and it was good to see saxman cutie Jeffie again. That night was the first of many, MANY close encounters to come with Hicks and the Boys in the Band...good times, GOOD TIMES!!

Yes, he is in the writing and collaborating phase of a new album later on in 2008. He also has a DVD scheduled for later this year too - it's called Whomp At The Warfield and was filmed last May in SF, Ca. This new album will be mostly all his own stuff. I'm expecting it to kick some serious ass!

I'm an Australian musician and don't watch alot of Idol because I believe in making it through year's of perfecting your craft. But I must say that this song grooves and I applaude Taylor for bringing Funk/Soul back into mainstream music. Keep it up TH.

While he won Idol, he actually had been a working musician with his own band, perfecting his craft for a number of years before he tried out for Idol. If I understand correctly, he had a local following around Alabama. Idol just elevated him from local working musician to national prominence. While he doesn't have the most outstanding voice ever seen on an Idol stage, there is something very appealing about him. I hope his (and Elliot Yamin's )star continues to rise.
