  • I like the Fort Knox safes, and like the idea the lifetime warranty does cover the lock and paint often excluded by the others....however having the customer pay to send the safe pre-paid freight to Utah and once again back to the customer is ridiculous for a attempted break in,fire damage or paint warranty claim?

  • I like the ones with external hinges so that the door will open wider.

  • @oilhammer04

check out the angled hinges which do the same thing but keep the hinges secure

  • @GunWebsites, thanks for the info. I have a question though about hinges . . . . does it matter if they are exposed or hidden if the bolts stick out from the door edge on the hinge side? Even if a crook cuts off the exposed hinges, it won't help (much) if the bolts are protruding from all edges of the door.

  • @oilhammer04

sure the door won't come off if a dumb crook grinds or cuts them off.. but it will ruin the safe

if a crook can't see them, he can't 'try' to open it by ruining them is all ..

  • tricked out, where can I get the door pockets so I can sell them in my shop?

  • @crackerms0100

from ft knox or their distributors

  • I do like Fort Knox, if I had known they offer external hinges, I would have looked closer at them when I was in the market.

  • how much that thing weigh?

  • 1,341 lbs

  • so id probally need some help getting that thing upstairs....

  • LOL!!!!!

  • wow thats real nice pitty i wouldnt be able to get it here in australia shipping would be a fortune!!!!!!

  • @2MCHNV might be worth checking out if theres somone selling them here though, but yeah otherwise wouldnt be worth the shipping

  • Nice safe makes mine look like a shoe box.

  • Makes my stackon look like shit.

  • Good stuff! I am in the market for a new gun safe and am glad i ran into this video.

  • I am really growing fond of Fort Knox safes too..

I like the black dial and hardware on this (instead of gold)

  • do they make any thing smaller

  • Sure, this one is a big one and a fancy model

  • Only problem with this safeis that it's a finger print magnet :D.

  • I don't think you should be showing the tags inside they have numbers and codes on them for extra keys and other info you do not want people to have!! Nice fricking safe.

  • That may be the case on other brands, but not Fort Knox

If you can find the combo from the model number, UL rating, fire protection, size and when it was made..

then I suggest you call Fort Knox, they would be impressed with that kind of skill

  • Ohh, now that's a big safe. My gunsafe is small compared to that one.

But yep safety is first, we should always put our rifles and handguns (the handguns that we're not using for carry at the time) in a safe when we leave the home for an extended time. Wouldn't want some twobit criminal getting a hold to them. That's why I always lock up my firearm just in case some one tries to take it when I'm not home. But hey that's my opinion.=)

  • Looks really expensive.

  • $5000 ish

  • can any one point me in the direction of a cheaper gun save for, i gess you would say beginners

  • Sturdy makes a thick safe, for the $. But there are so many safes in the $1k to $5k range it is impossible to cover them all. The best bargain is find a demo floor model they really want to sell, and make sure its good enough for what you need. Many safes are good enough, some are excellent, and some almost aren't even worth locking, lol. I got a National Security at 1/2 price, but I don't know that I would have paid full price for it.

  • Five Stars!!

  • When you scrolled over the labels on the side of the door i love how it convienently said "fire safe 'door' ". What about the whole thing? lol

  • ~ UL Listed.

    ~ Certified 1680ºF / 90 minute fire protection

    ~ Reinforced fire door

  • it pretty big

    hold everying

  • I think it would hold my collection my paps and bro in laws and still have room
