never saw the cartoon but had the toy as a kid and the only thing i hated about this Voltron was when you put them 2gether he had 6 arms :( but i see on the cartoon the other arms are not there..... ahhhh oh well, sometimes i wish toy makers would stay close to the cartoons! good vid 5 stars! :)

LMFAO!! I had this toy when I was a kid and hated it cuz it wasn't the lion force voltron. I thought it was a cheap imitation. DAMN! I should of kept those old toys, they'd probably be worth something now.

I think Voltus V or Combattler V would have been better follow ups to Lion and Vehicle Voltron with the 5 team members based dynamics. Then again, Voltus and Combattler are too awesome to be part of the Voltron mythos, so it might not have worked.

I actually had the Red Robot toy when I was a kid. My Uncle was in South Korea at the time (US Army) and brought it back for me. It said Voltron on the packaging and I always wondered why the US didn't get the cartoon series. On the back it showed clips of the cartoon.

i remember my step brother had the toy of these...it was mostly metal and they combined like in this cartoon..it was awesome i was jealous of it...lol..i hope he kept it

@salskyline Yes it's ALBEGAS, but this was the series that the people behind Voltron series Lion Force, and Vehicle team was going to use as a possible 3rd series but it never seen the light of day. ALBEGAS would have been known as Gladiator Voltron series 3.

Thank you for sharing! I remember Voltrons I, II, and III (as per Matchbox) and the Gladiator was the first one I owned. A true pity it wasn't brought over and redubbed. Great job on the video!!!!!

Your right, in the USA it would have been called Gladiator Voltron, but the Original title of the series was known as Kozo Udengami Albegas! Thanks for the comment hyoboy81.

the reason that i heared for this version not to be season three was that they could not translate the the japense into english and make the words fit the timeing would not work they would be way out of sync

i loved both versions, and it's a shame this never got made WEP should really consider gettng what's left of the old cast and making it. or maybe a fandub group could. it'd be interesting to wee how Albegas coudl tie into the Voltron mythos. they built their robots as a science project, right? maybe they could build them out of their fandom for Voltron. Another interesting question would be what would be their english names?

Oh yea it was said that due to the Lion Voltron's popularity & Vehicle Voltron's lack of popularity that prompted WEP not to show Gladiator Voltron

I loved Vehicle Voltron, & the Lion Force. Lion Force was more based in the magic and fantasy, while Vehicle Voltron was more technological, & star wars feel to it. Some kids rather the Magic, while others the space adventures. I loved both, it's a shame Gladiator Voltron never aired. Thanks for the comment, peace out!

Voltron lion & vehicle Voltron is like Star Wars & Star Trek on it // lion is Star Wars cos of the Fantasy & spiritual elements in it, while vehicle is star trek cos of the space adventure elements on it. But storyline id go for lion fewer Characters made it easier to follow plus a little comedic on the side, one lion has 1/5th the strength of Voltron

I saw the Italian version on YouTube, just type Arbegas (NOT Albegas) and look through pages. There are no subs, though. I wish FUNimation would translate this, and NOT WEP, they already made GoLion and Dairugger XV kid shows.

Gladiator Voltron was going to come after Vehicle Voltron series ended, but never made it to air. It was taken from the Japanese anime Super Robot show called "ALBEGAS", and would have been a 3 person team with 3 robots combining into one larger Voltron. He had a Staff with lightning blades on each end, that once powered up transformed into a full on Blazing sword! The series would have came after Vehicle Voltron series.
