I recently switched to flash CS4.

I right clicked on play and pressed actions And it wont let me edit the button. It seas "Current selection cannot have actions applied to it". This never happened to me with flash 8.

@chewbaccapasto I'm not sure if you did the same as me, but I just figured out that I'd been trying to follow these tutorials using AS3 instead of AS2, and then when I used AS2 I stopped getting the error message. Though I am still having issues with this.

I ran through the same issue and the answer is that you gotta make sure you are working on a Action Script 2.0 file, otherwise it wont work.
