However the wedding didnt happen until 6 years later when Mary, as her christian name is spelt like was written the song in Gaelic but they kept the Gaelic version of her name Mairi much in the same way with Runrig their drummer Ian, his names spelt Iain, much the way of Gaelic is really. Mary's i thinks still living on the isle of lewis why its called the lewis bridal song but i dont know if she originated there.
