,hip hop started in the very early late 60s it was not call hip hop yet. i live in a jamaican neighborhood and they did their block parties and we all join in. blacks, puertorican's etc.then Hip hop music originated in 1970s block parties

Africa Bamabatta created Hip Hop to give black people voice in America through a form of movement. He took a polgrimage to Africa in 1971 and studied the teaschings of the Amazulu's and he and Kool Herc developed it in the South Bronx in 1972. Bam later give Hispanics a pass but it started for blacks and its black music/culture.

@zerohero35 no matter whether it was the ricans or blacks who started it or both one thing is for sure if it was not for puerto rican crews like rsc and nycb it would no way have been popularised as much as it was in the early to mid 80s. they had the style, panache, execution and the moves which we all looked up to. blacks were not in the same league in this regard whether they were pioneers or not. it was the ricans that brought it to the world. that is how i got into breaking.via the ricans!.
