Wow they had some big wigs there... great crowd. She can really bring them in. Her hair looks great.. love the style. once again if you put comments some asshole has to put up those squiggly letters that are BULLSHIT!!! FUCK THAT.. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE DOING JACKASS!! WATCHING A FILM AND MAKING A COMMENT AS IF ITS UP TO THIS PIECE OF SHIT TO DO THIS EVERY TIME THERES A COMMENT POSTED.. UTTER CRAP
Who would replace nor displace Ms. Barbra Streisand? Anyone? She truly and simply is the best in her class and genre. She is a vocal diamond of the music world and nobody can ever deny that! kudos to her!
I bought this DVD 3 months ago. I watched this 5 times and never got bored of it. Not even once. Barbra, you are beautiful inside and out. You are indeed an inspiration. <3 Greetings from Malaysia!
I love how she embrases funny girl, instead of like alot of actors wanting people to forget their starting roles, like they cant get away from it....shes is amazing.
I dunno but this song wasn't part of the Broadway version of Funny Girl. "Who are you now ?" was dumped and this song was composed for the film version. A small detail.
that was beautiful, but her voice almost seems tired... she looks almost pained to sing it again after so many years, like every disappointment she's ever had is expressing herself now. it's very interesting how emotional she gets when she performs. wow.
These two songs to me sum up funny girl - the story of it, the romance of it. I adore this movie with every bit of my adoration and still after years and every day I watch it which is EVERYDAY I grow fonder and fonder of it. Barbra this is just beautiful thanks for singing it again :) from your little fan Olivia who will always be eternally grateful
My favorite song from the movie! Funny Girl. Such a poignant moment in the movie too. Hard to believe she has never sung it since the movie. She sounds phenomenal!
Barbra you are amazing. People, have you taken a look at the crap thats out there today. The singers like Britney, Miley, etc. etc can't even come close to the raw talent Barbra has. You are and always will be in a class by yourself. The new girls on the scene today should watch and take notes from the best female singer of all time.
@dd2461 yes is from a musical and it has been made into a movie too, Its called funny girl (just like the song) look for it in a DVD store and watch it, is an amazing movie.
@gerardoxs If they're going to do a biopic they better do it soon however cause Jennifer isn't getting any younger. -lol And I know Babs would want full reigns on her portrayal and the movie.
@sorandomwithbuds07 who ruined it. sorry--vocally it was great. But performed horribly. This isn't a song you smile through. It's a heart breaking, WRENCHING song. You don't act like it's the funnest thing ever.
@JunkE4Theatre just because the song carries those connotations doesn't mean that Barbara has to portray those things on stage for it to be a great performance.
First, it's Barbra. and I didn't say ANYTHING about how Barbra performs a song. ANything that woman sings she sings with perfection. Because she performs the song. She lives the song. For those two minutes (or however long the song is) that song is her life. Idina just sings to sing. To show off her voice. I have a problem with Idina's stage performance (NOT her voice btw) I NEVER EVER have a problem with the way Barbra sings ANYTHING.
Interesting how in certain shots of this concert, the lines in her neck appear digitally softened. Since then, you can tell she has had some minor work to tighten those lines -- in addition to losing some weight.
I agree with Nelsonrguy. It was a very bad judgement to omit "His is the only music that makes me dance" from the film. The recording would certainly have caught on when heard before a wider audience. And now that we have some opportunity to finally hear it once again on YouTube, all we're getting is a snippet. The only worse disappointment I've had this evening was finding the original Broadway score on YouTube and discovering someone plastered fan comment audio on top if it. What a waste.
This is a big issue. "The Music That Makes Me Dance" is without doubt the best song in the entire score fo "Funny Girl" and it was cut from the movie! Then, we FINALLY get Ms. Streisand to give it its due, and we get only a snippet of it. That song just beautifully floats out her her throadt, and with that saxaphone, it is magic. At least she sings the entire song, and so beautifully, on her CD.
What the hell am I watching YouTube for ... just bought the new DVD with all of this stuff .... looks great on the 65 inch Sony - if you don't have this DVD yet I suggest you RUN out and buy it as there are no words to describe how great it is!
Just won't stop crying..

Barbra the perfectionist should be quite happy with this seamless orchestration. Those musicians bring her voice to its best sound.
