my wife and i visit places like this in wisconsin all the time,, note to yourself tho bring 4wd or atleast a able truck,, i would love to know more about the forsts you mentioned tho, and speaking of cemetary's we found one a couple months ago called sherys cemetary and it was a family that was killed back in the plague of the 1800's its hidden in woods no trail, walking distance is 200 yards from old sherry road. supposedly theres a house back there too emaIL me sometime we can share notes,,,
Very nice! I love visiting, and am attracted to, old, abandoned places!! Especially cemeteries!! I'm originally from Wisconsin and do miss places such as that. This looks like a great place for geocaching with a gps!
lol, excellent stuff. I spent the afternoon painting a landscape, and had your video playing on repeat in the background as I painted-- it kind of took me into this other world.. I like playing atmospheric music while I work.. your video was definitely a contribution tro my artistic process. Are you gonna take any more footage out there? Maybe of the bridge or ruins? If you do, play the same music in the background for it!I'll be checking it out for sure
cool. I relate to this film because I also enjoy visiting places that are "abandoned". Roads, paths, fields, anywhere there was once civilization but is now empty.
On a side note- what's with the sinister laugh at 3:06??
ah, that was my relief from the frustration of getting my car stuck in the snow, and nobody knew I was out there, and I was very far away, and I wasn't sure how I would explain it to a tow truck guy. Luckily I got my car out of the rut by myself and I was much relieved that I didn't need help :)
hey, just wondering.. was there any particular reason you went out there, maybe such as a personal reason or an emotional reason.. there's a few times that you pause for thought and it seems you're reflecting on something.. maybe something close to your heart? The music also leads us to believe you're thinking of something from the past.. just wondering!
I really have a deep connection with the history associated with that area. I'm a member of a nearby Historical Society, and I have been reading & archiving letters from the Pioneer days, and learning about what their lives were like.
There's also a very old stone bridge in the woods nearby, and an abandoned farmstead where onions have been growing wild for about 80 years.
I always wonder what life was like back then, and sometimes wish I could live back then just for a while
the trail entrance is on St. Croix Trail in south Washington County, I got the coordinates from Google Earth: 44°45'53.12"N 92°49'2.67"W
Also, farther south in the woods, is one of the First Bridges in Minnesota. It is now part of a private ATV trail, and the span has been replaced with concrete slabs, but the limestone abutments are original, I don't know the exact coordinates, but it is somewhere NEAR 44°45'15.12"N 92°49'19.80"W
I'm still working my way through your videos. This is very interesting. I like your style. It was dramatic in a subtle way. You had a lot of suspenseful elements even though we knew you were alright because you posted the vid. Was there cell phone reception?
You really put that together well, I like your style and overall presentation skill's. Seems to me that Iv found some very interesting vlogger / youtubers to watch from my looking over the 678 gathering footage.
Very nice music and all that. Love the crow intros. and credits. Your helmet cam episode was very interesting.
It's on Saint Croix Trail. The trail starts just 50 yards south of the Nature Center driveway, across the street on the east side of the road. I've been meaning to go back there myself... I could show you!
cool vid the sound fx are cool

Oh yeah there are a few great places nearby that would be perfect for hiding geocaches... I wonder if there are already any nearby?

What a beautiful, relaxing, surreal 5 minutes of video. Loved it.
Can I ask what is the song playing in this? I'd love to get my hands on it, thanks!

I can't tell you how refreshing the sound and sight of snow underfoot is after being on the roof in this heat all day. Thanks.
It felt like 140 degrees up there!
Did you geo-locate when you posted? This kind of vlog is fun to watch from within Google Earth.

I think I have that location saved in my GPS tracker from an earlier excursion down there, and I also have it saved in my Google Earth locations

Great music on the cemetary. If the cemetery wasn't quiet I'd be scared! :P
Real roads have stripes! LOL!

The actual technical term is "inactive graveyard" which sounds ominous, but means that there are no more plots available for reservation.
