  • hello thanks for the demo can you tell me how do you think this compares to a zoom say G2.1u and whats it like with usb recording and the free software.did you get any load hiss or pop issues.the price is amazing compared to some of the zoom which is why im so curious but i have a zoom g21.u (which was my daughters for xmas)but it had hiss problems when recrding via usb :)

  • @beakf1 USB recording is easy using the standard ASIO driver and Reaper. No hisses or pops (although this could be due to your computer too if you have an old machine).

I can't compare to the G2.1, but I do have a Zoom G3. They are very close sonically, but I would say that the G3 is a bit better. But if you are only looking to spend $99 - the RP155 is the sure winner, for $199 the G3 is the way to go.

    Hope that helped!

  • @eriwebnerr sure did.i put a deposit down on a g3 thismorning.i pick it up tomorow.my final choice came down to digitech rp 355 and zoom g3.i couldnt even test the rp355 cause its outa stock untill january so i got the zoom.i also pefered it over the g2.1nu.i had the g2.1u plugged into a dell studio laptop 1737 when it was hissing.do u use noise gate on ur cubase software when ur zoom is rigged up or you dont need it cuase the zoom g3 znr does it for you :D

  • @eriwebnerr hey! i have the rp155 but? how can you change the rithym of the drums? please tell me! (:

  • @eriwebnerr what's the maximum loop time you can record? And can you play the drum loop and what you've recorded?

  • @andersonmatthewb Hi, twenty seconds is the maximum for a loop. Also the drums do not work when looping mode is engaged. You can only use one or the other.

  • Hi just a quick question. When you say you can overdub the loop as many times as you like, do you mean you can add a new loop over the existing loop that's playing? Thanks

  • @Supabohs Yes, you are correct. You can record another layer over top of the loop you recorded as many times as you want (no limit). Then at any point in that process you can play over top of it without recording what you are playing (like an improvised solo)

  • @eriwebnerr Ok cheers thanks!

  • Hi! I'm going to by rp-155, but have some questions. Is it possible to use drum machine and looper together? For example activate the drum machine first, then record rythm part and then do some solo? Or when the drum machine is running you can't use looper?

    Thanx for your vids!!

  • @266131 Thanks for your kind words - Unfortunately you cannot use the drums while using the looper. To get around that you would need to use a looper pedal after the RP155. However the Zoom G3 does have the ability to use drums and looping at the same time and has a 40 second looper. It is currently the only stand alone product on the market that can do this I believe. It also sounds as good or better than the RP units.

  • @eriwebnerr Thanks for your reply. I heard about Zoom G3 but I have never seen it in local music shops (Russia). It's pretty new model. So I have never heard live the sound of it. Have you?

  • @266131 Yah I bought one and they are great - I still think the RP155 is the best deal for under 100 US Dollars, but the G3 is the best deal for under 200. Especially, if you want to use it as stomp boxes, it is just an excellent deal and the modeling is really very good.

  • @eriwebnerr Thanks!

Looking forward to see some reviews of it from you!

  • Can you use computer speakers to plug into this rp 155? I do have an amp but it sounds awfully muddy. Thanks

  • @altermann1ify Hello mate! Yes! And if you have a computer i'll advice you to download Guitar Rig 4, and play with USB input into the pc. With that you can use a very vast amount of cabinets. that's the way that i actually do! You can also plug in headphones, or even pc speakers. (Any information send me a P.Message)

  • @altermann1ify Yes, computer speakers will be usable but not great. You may need to go through the headphone out. Try the normal line out if you can though, it should give you a slightly better sound.

Through an amp, make sure the push button in the back is properly set to either go through an amp or direct. You would want to set it to direct to go through computer speakers.

  • you made a verty nice little video there sir. Helped me a lot. Thanks a whole lot fella.

  • @arfurlife Thanks man!

  • umm same it has a puase to it, it dosen't matter if it is 20 sec. or not and it gets anoyying because when i am feeling the beat it just stops:/ ahah then 5 sec later it continues to play the loop....well i don't have a usb cable right now i need to get one though..so i can't load the firmware...

  • my looper is wierd it plays what i recorded, then about after 20 secs. it has a little 4 second puase before it plays agian? do you know why it does that??

  • @malfom1 Hmm - it shouldn't do that. What does it do if you record a loop shorter than 20 seconds? I would try loading (or reloading) the latest firmware for it. You should make sure to backup all of your patches first so you can reload them afterwards.

  • you sound like santana

  • @Jmhr19 My voice or my playing? Hehe just kidding ..

    Thanks man

  • does it work with a 20watt amp.

  • How many layers can you add all together ?

  • @chowdownonrayman It's virtually unlimited - you can just keep layering and layering

  • can you change presets while it's looping?

  • @MrWhoTookMyName Yes - you can scroll up or down and changes patches while the loop is running. I believe you need to hold in the Left foot switch for a few seconds to scroll down.

  • does it come with a wall plug???

    please answer.

  • @jvmusiccovers Yes - it comes with the power adapter - its a small wall wart style

  • that preset are from fabric? or u do it?

  • @paulmetalcore : Hi the loop was done by me but the drum pattern comes with the unit.

The patch I am playing through for most of the clip is almost stock as well. I believe I just added reverb.

    Hope this helps!

  • @eriwebnerr thanks a lot! I found it. :)

    Jahbless! :D

  • Hi, Yes you can! Sorry if I didn't mention that. There is unlimited overdubbing in the 20 second looper.

Only limitation is that you can't run the drum beats inside the unit at the same time as the looping

  • Can you overdub multiple times like on the RP355?
